We had a couples massage booked last week at this Brookline location and would never recommend to anyone. Even though I filled out a questionnaire on the pressure level and areas I wanted to focus on, the masseuse seemed to completely disregard that and when I kept speaking up that the pressure was too hard or too soft when she was massaging areas. We were told hot stones were included in the massage but didn't receive any. When it came to pay, we paid by credit card for the massages but were told that there were additional $4 fee per $40 if we were to use credit card. What the hell? Nothing on the website indicated any credit card fees would be added on. That would have been a nice thing to know before hand. We also gave a 20% cash tip based on the $39.99 per person massage (this price is listed all over the website when booking). The masseuse told us the real price was $70+ and that our tip was too low, that we needed to give extra tip, which we were shocked by. Nothing on the website during booking said that it was a discount or for first time customers and honestly felt like it was a scam by them to get more money out of us. It would have been one thing if they politely pointed it out to us but they were outright rude about it. If they wanted a tip based on the real value of the massage, then why isn't the business advertising on the website the real cost? We didn't have any additional cash because we had brought only exact change for the tip. My husband felt pressured to pull money from the ATM they had on site to give them extra tip. I honestly felt that they didn't deserve the extra tip based on their rude behavior. I honestly felt like the mediocre massage and shakedown for extra tip left a bad feeling. Massages are great, for the price you get a relaxing experience and of good quality. Very punctual and Amy in particular is so good. However the price is a little misleading. Yes the massage costs $39.99 for one person BUT if you don't tip at least $12 they will ask you for the $12 (I tipped $10) and will look at you weird if you don't. So really the massage costs $52 but even for that price especially around the brookline area where there are other massage places this is worth it. If you insist on tipping less than $12 just be ready for an awkward conversation. read more

My friend recommended this message spa, my husband booked the appointment for two, the price was great $39.99 for 60 minute. We got there earl, inside the spa no one was at the front to greet or check us, someone came out in a few minutes which wasn't bad but a need to let you know in the front they a sign which states that they accepts cash, checks and credit cards, there is also a sign which says we recommend a tip of $14.00, they also have an ATM machine in the front. My husband and I was called into the room inside the room smelled like basement mold, the massage was okay, we got done got dress went back to the lobby to pay I tried to pay with my debit card, the front desk person kept tell me to take money from the ATM which I did not want to but was forced another thing I didn't like is we gave a tip of $26 and was told that's no enough it had to be $14 or more for these reasons it was the worst experience ever and I would never recommend this place to anyone I know friend or fo. read more

Decent massage. They accommodated a walk-in which was great. No frills, no conversation, no check-in about whether I was comfortable or satisfied. My friend bought me a gift certificate for a prenatal massage. I booked a day in advance with no problem at all. I also booked for my sister, and we were able to come at the same time. The space is new and very clean. The room was warm (perhaps a bit too much, but I'm 35 weeks pregnant, so I tend to feel warmer than most people...) I loved the massage! The staff that assisted me was extremely rude. After the massage I took cash out of the ATM because I was told that it was cash or check only. The max dispursement amount allowed was $40. I took the $40 then proceeded to take another $40 out to cover the cost of the massage and tip but the machine ran out of cash. I let her know and she said that I could pay by credit card. I was a little confused because I was told that it was cash or check only. I then received a link to pay online via credit card. I paid and then asked if she had received the payment. She said that she had but that I only tipped $15 and that the tip was normally $18 as she pulled out a sign from behind the counter showing the same information. I let her know that $15 was what I wanted to tip. She then looked at me with a confused expression and said something to her coworker in Chinese. I asked if everything was okay and she replied that I can leave and gestured with her hand for me to leave. It was an uncomfortable incident. The fact that she told me how much I should tip and that my tip was not enough even though it was was ridiculous. I will not be returning to this location unfortunately . read more

Decided to try this spa based upon their reviews and I was not disappointed. Located in Coolidge Corner near high-end shops, eateries and night life. I saw Ada who was my massage therapist. Ada was very friendly, professional and courteous. Ada performed a light-medium massage which was very soothing and relaxing. I was well refreshed afterward. Ada is a great massage therapist and I highly recommend her. The pricing guidelines are very, very reasonable and are actually the least expensive in the entire city. I went in for a massage recently, during COVID, due to excruciating back pain. First, the place was extremely clean, all staff wore masks, sanitizer was readily available in all rooms and distance was maintained in the lobby. The massage was fantastic. The therapist quickly localized my problem areas and provided excellent deep tissue massage. Given the hygeine practices and quality of care, I will be returning despite pandemic. read more

But this shows how they're able to run a business correctly. UPDATE: I feel bad writing this but believe it needs to be said. I've treated myself to a lot of massages since my first review I wrote, and it's been so hit or miss for me. IMO, Emily is the best therapist there. I request her online the website if she's available. My S.O. bought me a massage as a gift, and requested Emily for me because he knows I love her. I got there yesterday, and did not have Emily. I feel like if I'm requesting someone, it's for a reason. If I had known I wasn't going to get who I requested, I may have cancelled my appointment entirely. The woman I had was very kind, but she barely used any massage oil, to the point where my skin was literally hot from the friction! To be fair, I didn't say anything, but I'm also someone who feels awkward in those positions, especially in that situation. This place used to be a $60 massage for $40, but now I feel like it's a $40 massage for $40.
