I booked my appointment online using the scheduling link shared within the gift card. I added on an additional service so I anticipated that there would be a remaining balance to pay. Once my service was finished, I was brought up to the front desk and asked to pay for the full amount of my service plus the additional service that I added. I explained that I had booked using a gift card and I understood I would need to pay for the additional service that I requested. They insisted that my gift card was expired and that I wasn't able to use it. This is INSANE as I just received the gift card a few months ago. After arguing with me for about 10 minutes, they insisted I pay via Venmo and did not allow me to use my credit card. They then stopped me and insisted that I send an additional tip. I will never be returning to Ocean Spa.

Friday night at 6:30 we went to the spa, kind of dejected and expecting disappointment. Well...WE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG! Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted and directed to have a seat in a very comfortable waiting area. Within minutes we were taken to the massage room. The door opened into a clean and inviting area, where soft piano music and wonderful warmth filled the room. When we were ready, two ladies came in, and without any words just started working on us. As strong, yet gentle massaging began on my back, I began to relax. There was no chit-chatting going on between the women. They were completely focused on us. The only sound in the room was the peaceful music. Eventually some warm oil massage was done, and I think I felt a hot stone gliding up and down my back, which felt amazing! Hot towels were a nice surprise, too. In addition to massage, gentle stretching was directed to my back, arms and legs. I am 62, overweight, and out-of-shape, and yet I felt at ease as muscles I probably never use were being twisted and pulled and rubbed. I honestly felt like I was being worked on by a machine. I didn't feel hands or elbows pushing at me...everything felt like a smooth, warm roller gliding over my skin. The masseuse did not neglect my ankles or feet, and it all finally ended with a bit of attention and pressure to my forehead. We had been treated to a solid hour of heaven, peace, and comfort, and we were so completely relaxed. How relaxed? We could barely get ourselves dressed and I refused to even attempt to get my bra back on. We felt wonderful - like stoned noodles leaving the room. Anna and Paule had been our masseuses, and both my husband and I were beyond satisfied with their attentive massages. For the rest of the evening both of us were just useless haha. O. M. G. Fong's Massage Therapy is a gem of a find in Boston Chinatown. Over the years I have…read moregradually been doing some major damage to my back via working late hours and tolerating the stress at work. I've gotten many, many massages over the years to help relieve the dull and nagging pain I have in my neck and upper back. I have a Massage Envy subscription (which I just terminated today) plus I go to a number of Chinese and Thai massage places to supplement. When I found Fong's Massage Therapy I was looking for the highest rated Yelp! business in Boston Chinatown... And then it was history... I actually just showed up randomly on a Sunday to see if I could get a session in. First, I was expecting a store front on the main level of Washington Street but it's actually in an office building of sorts where you have to buzz in. There's no major signage for Fong's except for the buzzer label. The office is nice and very comfortable (nice cool temperature, soothing lighting and music and comfy BarcaLoungers for waiting. I didn't have an appointment but Kathy was available. I didn't realize it was cash only so I said I would come back after going to the ATM. However Kathy offered to perform the treatment and then I could go get cash but just leave my ID. I was like wow! And I wasn't sure what to do so I ended up doing what she suggested. The first session was amazing. Kathy basically checks out what's wrong and then administers the appropriate treatment. The method here is not like some of the many (excellent) massage therapists employ where there's almost a set sequencing of therapy. I was really tight so Kathy walked on me first to loosen me up. And then the remainder of the session was pretty intense--I usually fall asleep during no my massage therapy sessions but the pain was so intense and body work so deep that I couldn't fall asleep! The first session was so good that I set up an appointment for about 10 days later. During my second session I had gua-sha (spooning) done. This is where Kathy too lo a Chinese soup spoon and "scraped" it all over my back, neck and arms. Wow, I felt really good afterwards. Fong also checked me out as Kathy saw that I had a mountain of a knot on my back. Fong said there was a misalignment and that an adjustment would be helpful. I wasn't mentally ready to get adjusted then but I am today (third session). I am waiting for my treatment and I am hearing the "screams" of pain coming from the patient currently being treated. I can't wait!
