Massage ultra has a wonderful and peaceful ambience. The staff is respectful, experienced, and professional. I always feel as though I get a great value every time I get a massage here. read more

I do not know why in 2026 it is complicated to pay and tip using my credit card. After session, the masseuse pushed me to withdraw cash from their ATM. I tried but the machine declined my card. I scanned their code to pay using my credit added the 20% tips that stated in the front desk. The masseuse asked for more. I have tried to return to the page that I edit the tips but the application didn't allow me. The masseuse kept telling that more tips if the massage was good. That embarrassed me in front of other customers. Why there is no a card reader that gives me different options of tips to save all of this hassle??????? If you don't have enough cash, do not destroy your good mood in a nice day. read more

My sister and I came for a massage before heading to a festival last weekend. This was our first time at this location. Upon entering, the nice lady at the front desk told us that one of us could go in if the other one wouldn't mind waiting. We said that was fine and so she went over our "sign in procedure" (reviewing body parts that we wanted more focus on or parts we wanted to avoid). Then my sister went in first and I waited in the waiting area. I was offered a whole cold bottle of water, which for some of you might feel like a standard, but I thought it was a wonderful add! The massage was great. The masseuse was polite and paused frequently to ask if I was doing okay (if I needed more or less pressure, feeling ok, etc.) She was able to get the knots I really needed to get rid of. The hot stone was presented and I said sure why not...but it didn't really do much for me. It wasn't warm enough. Though the service was good, the ending was not very consistent to the whole experience. We came in with the understanding that the price was $39.99 and with tip would be $48 each. We only brought cash with us and paid together. We handed her a $100 bill thinking we'd get back $6 after tip. I think she got confused as to why we wanted to change back. After much back and forth, we realized that the services weren't listed with updated prices. The service was $49 instead of $39. (which means if we calculated with tip, we underpaid her by $20.) We felt bad walking out because we thought we brought a 20% tip with us but we ended up only giving them $2. Just beware if you go, it's still pretty decently priced but bring extra cash or a card in case it happens to you. 1 star knock off purely for the fact that the advertised price was not the true price. read more

A really wonderful massage at a reasonable price. Got a couples message here for my partner's birthday and we both felt very relaxed the whole day afterwards. read more

They're pretty upfront about tip expectations, so an hour massage comes to $60 including tip. It's a decent no frills massage at a great price! read more

I booked a deep tissue massage with hardest pressure thru the website and got a light touch Swedish massage rub that did not reach my fascia. I repeatedly asked for "harder, deeper, more pressure" and the masseuse replied "hard, ok" but did not increase pressure. Facility was clean and Nala was polite and complimentary of my "strong muscles", so I still tipped more than 20%, but won't return without guarantee of true deep tissue read more

They're great! Just need to tell them what pressure you want. You won't find a better price/quality ratio anywhere.

Falsely stated that there was no ATM fee after stating that their "credit card machine wasn't working" and then gave me incorrect amount back when I paid with cash (gave themselves more as a tip). Signs state that they accept cash, debit, or credit. Also signs suggesting tip amounts are incorrect. Massage was good though. read more

Always very very clean. No up sell one very affordable price. Great for men and woman. read more

I recommended this place to my sister, and was embarrassed to have done so. She had a very unprofessional massage, and as someone who is very busy, I felt very bad that she wasted precious time because of my recommendation. My sister was aggressively pressured to leave a 33% tip-outrageous! The manager called gave my sister a refund but she did not get the tip back. But I will not be recommending this place again. read more

Fantastic massage, right amount of strong pressure, hot stones added which I always enjoy.

My boyfriend and I did the couples massage. We both had an amazing experience. Our target areas were honored and the masseuses worked through our tough knots after a long ski weekend. I appreciated that the full body massage included a scalp and face massage! Heaven. Thank you for helping us unwind and reset. We tipped according to standard massage rates, as you SHOULD when a place gives you a discount. They deserved the tip read more

This was an excellent massage at a very reasonable rate. She found all the spots that have been causing pain for a while without me even having to say much. Very friendly, very simple, no fuss place to make your body feel better. read more

great massage, great location. clean space and very affordable. highly recommend. thanks!

My wife and I had a couples massage and enjoyed ourselves very much. My masseuse definitely found some spots that needed work so they knew what they were doing. Friendly staff. read more

Shishi was amazing! Very strong hands and very professional massage. Fair price for 60 minutes. Easy to make a last-minute appointmen!

The service is not consistent. The price used to be $39.99, but has recently gone up to $49.99. I have been going for years, but you can't lways get the same massage therapist hence sometimes the massage is great and sometimes not. About year ago they began haggling people about leaving more money for a tip. I usually leave 20%, whether it's good or not, but they are requesting 25%+ based on what the average cost of a massage, which is unethical. I was in there and the guy told them, "if you want my tip predicated on a $65 massage, then you should've charged me $65" and gave them 20% of the $39.99 and told them he wouldn't be back. Generally the service is good, but I'll never go back to be mistreated like that! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL read more

I come here all the time, a great message for an affordable price! And they do free hot stones

A colleague recommended Massage Ultra and cautioned me that it had a cheap, hole in the wall massage vibe. I decided to give it a try anyway, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The booking process was messy because I went online to make an appointment at the Cambridge location and went through the booking process, only for the final screen to say "Time slot not available." So, I tried booking another time--same error message. Then I switched to the Brookline location and had the same experience. A few minutes later, I got three back-to-back text message notifications saying all THREE of those appointments were confirmed. Since you can't cancel them online, I called the next morning and they said only my Brookline appointment was confirmed, so I just went with that. Miki did a wonderful job. The online survey had you click parts of your body you wanted emphasized or deemphasized during the massage, and while I don't think that data actually went through to the Brookline location, Miki was sure to ask and clarify what my areas of tension were. She used a perfect medium pressure, and one thing I really appreciated was that she spent a good chunk of time on my problem area, which was my left hamstring. Most places will take five minutes on the problem area and then go back to the regularly scheduled program, but Miki didn't do that, and it helped me feel much better. Also, unlike so many massage studios in Boston that are plagued with really uncomfortable face holders that smash your chin into a metal bar, the tables at Massage Ultra are fine. Obviously, Massage Ultra is way cheaper than most places at $40 for 60 minutes. I gave a $15 tip, so I did not face the tipping pressure that a lot of other reviewers have experienced. I have had massages that cost an extra $140 for a massage that wasn't that much better (although they had elevated touches like essential oils and peaceful music in the room). Massage Ultra needs to look at their web site and online booking process as it has some issues, but even with all that, it is an AMAZING value. read more

We had an amazing couples message. These women really put in work! I remember feeling so relaxed and worry free! Anytime we were back in Boston, we will be hitting up this place. The room was clean, the staff amazing, and the prices were AWESOME. Make sure you check it out when you're in town. read more

I went twice. First time great and the staff was polite. After I got on the hook, the second time, the staff became lazy. She said that her thumb was painful and stopped working on my stiff area. When I paid, I paid over 35% of the tip. She was very unhappy and said that the tip was too low. The staff's name was Linda. These people are so greedy. It could have been a pleasant experience, but this Linda person completely spoiled the experience. read more

I've been to Massage Ultra, Porter Square 12+ times over the past few years. Generally speaking I've had good experiences, which is why I've gone back. That said, the last 2 times I have been, have been really bad and I've soured on this place. The last time I was there the massage therapist started talking about a good tip 5 minutes into the service. It was very awkward. When I was paying and only gave a $15 tip, she began to complain, asking for $20. It was really uncomfortable. The idea that a tip might be commensurate with the service is lost on this establishment and they're very shameless in their asking for more money. After getting over the tip issue a few months ago, I came back today, and today was the worst massage I've ever had in my life by a mile. It was not enjoyable or helpful in any way. There was no system, order, or sense to anything the massage therapist was doing. She would do one thing to one side, and something completely different on the other, or forget the other side entirely. And none of it was done well. She did my left arm, forgot my right. Was jumping from foot to shoulder to back to other leg. It was terrible. $40 plus a tip for an absolutely awful experience. I wanted to leave but I didn't want to get into it so I laid there enduring. It's now a hard no for Massage Ultra in Porter Square. read more

Fantastic value for great massages at a clean no-frills location 5mins from the Porter T. Other reviewers have pointed out their straightforward tip policy - for a $40 1hr massage, they ask you to leave at least a $12 tip. They can be very direct about it. On the other hand, the base price is so low that a $12 tip is very reasonable. Cash ATM available on-premises with a $3 fee. Staff are friendly and responsive to feedback, and the location is clean and tidy. Have already recommended to multiple friends! read more

Literally just got a massage there and they are 10/10! Im upset I forgot to get the name of the woman that massaged me because wow I feel like I'm floating right now. The price is a steal for the work these ladies do. Will definitely be coming back!! read more

Okay so a $40 massage for 60 minutes? Yes pleaseee! Of course they want a $20 tip, but regardless a $60 massage is cheap! It was one of the best massages ever they constantly ask if you like it and if you're okay. Mine was hard but that's how I like it. The place does look a little shady but it was clean. Side note- when we got there to make the appointment there was a lady that was super upset and screaming so we did get a little worried but after our appointment we were so happy with the place. Go try it out for yourself! read more

Got a 60 minute full body deep tissue massage with my boyfriend who has never been massaged before. This place was recommended to us by my roommate and the experience lived up to her good review! The price is unbeatable and we left loose and rejuvenated. The ladies were kind but chatted a little during our session. Overall, would definitely come back. Make sure to bring cash and leave a nice tip! read more

Cost and the massage itself was decent. I've had better elsewhere I probably won't be back, but is decent for the area.

Super great for the price! I wanted to tip generously because of how great she did . I feel very relaxed afterwards, thank you!

I've been here a few times now and have really enjoyed! I have seen Tiffany, Lily, and one other person whose name I'm forgetting. The massage therapists I've seen here have been skilled and I'd see again. Not as many frills as some of the more expensive places nearby but for what you're paying this is absolutely the best case scenario. I was recommended this place by a colleague whose been coming here for years. It's easy for me to walk to so I finally gave it a try and keep going back. Bring cash! They do not accept credit cards for payment. They also have an ATM on site that you can use to get cash if you have a debit card on hand. Everyone has been very nice, and I've been offered a free bottle of water after massages. Overall would definitely recommend. read more

I've never left a yelp review in my life but I love massage ultra! Amazing massages for such a great price ($45/hour). Highly recommend!!

I have been going to PT since my hip replacement in May. My physical therapist is working me hard and my muscles ache everywhere. Massage Ultra is the answer to those aching, tight muscles! The masseuse calibrated the amount of pressure carefully, and checked with me throughout the session. The hour long session is great value. I've seen other reviews complain about pressure to tip -- that's not my experience! I was happy to tip generously -- they work really hard and I am extremely satisfied! Thanks! read more

Absolutely fantastic. Excellent massage. I have been in pain for weeks and feel like a new woman.

YOU ARE PRESSURED/BULLIED TO TIP!!! Tip is REQUIRED while on the sign it says voluntary I did not have enough cash on me for both tip and be able to pay for my groceries with the cash I had on me and they FORCED ME to tip, I felt intimidated as they all stood around me and stared as the front desk stated it was a $14 minimum and pointed to the sign that said "tip is voluntary" with the tip amounts. Horrible will not come back. The sign also states that for $45, a 20% tip is $14 and this is incorrect!!! They are pressuring clients into this!!! read more

I've been to many affordable massage places and none of them left me feeling so uncomfortable. The woman tried hard but she just didn't have the proper training. I like deep pressure but hers was mostly hard pinching and elbowing my back. I woke up in pain (bruising type of pain) today. Was excited to find a new massage place close to home but don't think I'll be coming back. Ps. Others are right, the way they handle tipping is distasteful. The woman on the phone tells you without asking that "most ppl tip 12 for a 60 min massage and 18 for a 90 min massage". And it's also written in big prints at the front desk. read more

Amazing service, they took their time and worked on everything. And it's a great location!

This place is amazing and Jessica was super! During COVID-19 time, they have streamlined their process and has everything ready before my arrival. I arrived their place early and they started early- I was glad! They do comply with Covid-19 safety guidelines-- there were temperature checks, hand sanitizer, and mask-on during massage. As for massage experience, Jessica is indeed amazing! She is a good listener and takes care of your requests. It was such a relaxing experience! Highly recommend this place and ,yes, great value for money! I'll come back here again! read more

OMG! I was fortunate enough to have sheshe today. She found knots in muscles I didn't even know existed. When they say full body, they are not joking! Ears, toes, you name it. I CANNOT wait to go back! 10/10 recommend. I have been here a few times, they get straight to the point. No need to even fill out a form of where you hurt, they will find it. For $45!! read more

I was not allowed to book again bc there was a note put in system that I don't tip enough. I always give 20% on the price listed for massage but they want 40%. They banned me and said I could not book appointment. Go elsewhere bc you will be harassed if you don't give 40% tip (the women who work there will actually yell at you and become aggressive if you don't tip 40%, completely unprofessional!) and then you will be banned. Not worth it and terrible customer service! Shame on you, Massage Ultra! read more
