It is traditional Chinese massage and borders between amazingly stress relieving and slightly painful, lol. (I love a firm, hard pressure with my massages!). I do not like writing negative reviews - however the abundance of stars on Yelp and Google led me to believe I would be getting an excellent massage and I don't want others mislead as I was. Torn about this place because if you get the right person the massage is great, with plenty of pressure which I like. However the last time I was there was with someone I had never seen before. She charged me more for credit card payment (which I don't think is legal?) and asked me to pay upfront. She spoke almost no English unlike May and others and didn't ask me what I was looking for. I was initially skeptical about coming here as a lot of these establishments tend to give massages based on routine, not need, and I would normally leave feeling more sore than relaxed. However, I am so happy I came here on a whim and gave this place a chance (mainly because I needed a massage ASAP, I was lazy to drive into the city, and this place was only a mile walk away from my house). Location: in a little row of businesses. There tends to be street parking available so I don't think it would be difficult in finding parking. Inside: small reception area but the room where you get your massage is clean and open. They do play spa music with the sound of running water in the background so very relaxing. I also tend to run hot but the room was a little bit too warm for my liking but for others, this may be the perfect temp. Masseuse: I had May based on reviews and she was fantastic. She was very sweet, made conversation in the beginning, but then was quiet and professional throughout the entire massage. She would check in to see how I was doing and would make comments here and there. She really worked out the knots in my shoulder and back and worked on my legs because I had told her I was a runner and was training for a half marathon (apparently she has a lot of clients who are also runners so she understands our needs). She performed a bit of Thai massage, asked if I wanted deep tissue, and really worked with her thumbs on my knots. I do appreciate the fact that she didn't over lotion me like a lot of places do and really massaged my calves and thighs with the right pressure because often, masseuses would press so hard on my legs to the point of lip biting pain and I would feel no relief afterwards. She did stretches on me in the end which felt great and my hour went by just like that. Overall experience: it was fantastic from start to finish and I am returning again the following week to get a massage before my race. I had my first visit to this spa yesterday and was very pleased by both the quality of the service and the cleanliness of the store (which is difficult to find at an affordable price these days). I asked for a deep tissue massage due to severe neck and upper back pain and I woke up today and feel SO much better, thankfully. The therapist I worked with spent ample time focusing on my problem areas and explaining what she was discovering as she went about the massage. The spa itself is quite nice, very new, renovated and clean - the bathroom was immaculate. I am so happy with the oils and lotions they use throughout the massage - I have sensitive skin so I appreciate the fact that the brands/types of oils they use (coconut oil and Cedaphil lotion) are both dermatologist recommended and free of any artificial fragrance. May was AMAZING. I was in the area for work and had a few hours free, so called to ask if they had any availability for that morning. And surprisingly they did! Woo hoo! I was able to pull up and immediately find a space in front of the shop, and walked in. I filled out a form about why I was there, and denote what pressure I would like (achy calves and back, medium pressure), and May went over it with me, which was great. The waiting area is small, but outfitted with two super plush comfy chairs. The massage table was SO COMFORTABLE. And May used an amazing amount of pressure on me and was able to work out every kink I had which was so needed! And she even incorporated a hot stone and hot towels which felt SO good. My hour massage lasted a few more minutes over the hour - I'm so used to massages lasting like 50-55 minutes so this was such a welcome surprise. May gave me the 20% first timer discount, so my massage came out to an even $60. Best money I've spent that week! Will DEFINITELY be back! And if you want that then don't go here. If your looking for someone to touch on every nerve in your body - and seriously give you a deep massage-this is it. I have been working out a lot and my muscles ache, so I asked for Medium pressure from Jo-ling. Uh, medium? I would say her idea of medium wasn't medium, but I was sore so I cant tell. Bought the groupon deal because I've been searching high and low for a massage place I can go to regularly but I'm sorry to say this wasn't the place for me. The shop is clean but the waiting area is kind of awkward. Two huge chairs with this tiny little podium as the reception desk. And you can hear everyone out there talking as your getting massaged. They have you fill out paper work asking about yourself and where you have pain Etc. but this was pointless because the therapist didn't even look it over and discuss it with me. She was over 20 minutes late taking me which was not really a big deal and they were apologetic to that but my major complaint is that I couldn't communicate to the therapist because of a language barrier. I lied down on the bed (which I was uncomfortable in because the head rest hurt my face and neck to lie in) and told her I only wanted upper body. No legs please. She must have only heard legs because she ended up doing them and its just something that makes me uncomfortable but I felt bad yelling at her to stop when the massage was almost over anyways. Also she used way too much pressure on me (and If she read the paperwork I filled out she would have saw that I wrote I was there for a relaxation massage and to be rejuvenated! Not hurt!) Small modest store front, but extraordinarily superb masseuse (May). Vigorous probing massage that was intense but ultimately comfortable for the next 48 hours. I had a minor sports injury leading to shoulder pain that affected my sleep; but after 2 massages over the next 4 days, the pain evaporated . I visit Lexington once every 2 months to see my daughter. I called last minute praying for an appointment super stressed out after weeks of overwhelming stuff and a headache for four days. No more headache no more tension. Perfect amount of pressure when I said medium. I was so happy I could've sat there for 3 hours easily. The place is tiny and street parking is scarce to say the least but I would walk the mile or two from my office there just for a massage. In short, this place is awesome and cheap. In detail: I've been to quite a few massage places in this area (Cambridge/Lexington/Waltham). My favorite used to be Inman Oasis, which is excellent but a bit too pricey for me to go to as often as I'd like. I then moved further away and it was just too difficult get to Inman and find parking. I tried a few Groupons for massage places and had a couple of bad experiences. I wasn't going to do another one until I saw the Groupon for Green Tea Day Spa. I figured that since it was so cheap, and so close to my new apartment, it was worth a shot. That was about a year ago and I've been coming back ever since. The massage therapists here are excellent - courteous, knowledgable, and just really good at giving massages! They're definitely on par with the therapists at Inman Oasis, but the massages are cheaper. A normal massage is $70/hour, which is below average for the Boston area. They also have a VIP deal which is AMAZING. If you plan on going regularly (once a month or more) you can get a one hour massage for about $50. Do it. You won't regret it. read more

Had a wonderful massage with May. I had some major pain in my shoulders and neck and needed a strong massage to work out the knots. May was able to see me right away and she did a wonderful job working out the knots and easing my pain. I asked for deep tissue and she was definitely very strong and knew just the right pressure points to alleviate tension. She gave me a discount as a first-timer there, so my 60 minute massage was only $56 (before tip). Very well worth it! I first went there on a groupon but returned after a fantastic first massage, and signed up for their 3x 1hr massages for $49 each deal (after paying a $10 fee). I am in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy and been having bad hip and back pain. I've had massages with May twice and both times she just just knew exactly which parts of my body needed more attention. After the massage the first time I can honestly say I could walk "normally" not like a "waddling" pregnant woman, and I felt lighter for some reason! Also there were several small touches that made the massage even greater- a warmed eye cover, hot stone massage and she rubs off the massage cream with a nice warmed wet towel so you don't leave feeling too greasy. May has a lovely personality that makes you feel very comfortable and relaxed. The spa is very clean and the music is also soothing.
