Alright, a year into my membership, I think it is time to write my review. Over the last 12 months, and a few prior to that without the membership, I have received nothing shy of amazing service. Whether it's for a facial, a micro dermabrasion, or a massage, I always leave thrilled with my visit and ready to come back. First let's talk facials: not only do they do an excellent job of caring for your skin, but the aestheticians here also recommend future care to your skin and will talk you through your home skin care routine to help make improvements not just on the table, but on your own time between sessions as well. In the last year I have noticed my skin (with every other month facials and the changes I've made to my home routine) is now more plump, more hydrated, and I almost never break out in acne. The people at my work tell me I come to work glowing everyday and I almost never wear makeup anymore! Now for the MASSAGES. I have had a number of massages from a few of the masseuses here, all great and do a good job of listening to what you need. I do need to take the time here however to shine the light on the best masseuseI have ever had. Hats off to Manny! Never before have I had a massage from someone who caters so much to my needs and keeps the entire experience enjoyable. He has magic hands, I swear by it. Being someone with a previous back surgery, it is hard to find someone who takes into consideration what that might mean for the client, and does a good job asking questions in order to become familiar and comfortable with the hardware in my back. So for that, I am extremely thankful. Second off, my shoulders. My shoulders have been a problem area since I was 12, I have never been able to get the knots out completely and they usually cause subsequent back and neck pain. Anytime I see Manny, I leave with new shoulders. I am loose, I have better mobility, and any pain I came in with is melted away-- I always cannot wait to come back. I cannot rave enough about him! The atmosphere is light-hearted and relaxing, like talking with an old friend-- but also being massaged! I will forever be his client. Furthermore, the front desk staff is always (and I mean ALWAYS) sweet, kind, helpful, and pleasant. You walk in and feel not just important, but almost like family... or maybe I'm just very sentimental. I love seeing their faces and their beautiful smiles! I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this Massage Envy location. I recently transferred one of my membership credits to my pregnant sister, and I was only informed after the transfer that she could not use it because she is in her first trimester. This is something that should have been communicated before completing the transfer. When I asked for clarification, Melissa, the manager, was very rude and unprofessional. Instead of helping, she was dismissive and offered no solution. I also asked if I could speak with corporate, and she told me that the call would "always come back to her," implying that she is the only person in charge and there is no higher support, which was extremely concerning and unhelpful. Because of this experience, I decided I wanted to cancel my membership. However, I was told I'm locked into a one-year contract, even though the situation resulted from their lack of clear communication. I guess I'm stuck here for a year. read more

This location has went way down hill! I loved this place so much but they haven't been the same since after the pandemic. They have continuously canceled on my husband and my appointments last minute. Also, we've been unable to use our 9 account hours anywhere else. We've also submitted the freeze forms now 3 times but they are "never received". Sad this location has resorted to fraudulent practices. read more

Front office needs better training on describing their services with putting connotations to their comments then feeling offended when you respond to them the same way they talk to you. They charged my card $72 without my authorization for a cancelation of an appointment that was made 2 min after booking and when we called to find out wuy my card was charged without my permission mellissa was incredibly rude and said I have to just deal with it and then she insulted my wife. Zero stars. Clarissa the "manager" Mellissa and Jasmine treated me with so much disrespect over a miscommunication of a booked appointment. They were very argumentative and passive aggressive. When I asked for cooperates number Jasmine wrote down their number and said there was no corporate and if I wanted to complain the only person I can talk to is her or someone from that location. I will never step foot in there again. The management is very ghetto and ratchet. They do not care about hospitality or trying to make things work or find a solution. I googled the corporate number and reached out to them and let them know I will be formally filing a complaint with the better business bureau. So here is my honest review based off of the 2x I have came to this location. I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 2 years and usually go to another location but decided to make an appointment at this one off Riverside Central to check it out. I am giving 3 stars specifically due to the skilled staff. If it wasn't for them being good, I would probably give it a 2 due to the carpets grossing me out. Massage therapists (Alexis & Anthony) - Both Equally Great! I left my sessions relaxed and feeling much better. Esthetician (Holly) - Amazing, can't wait to go back! **** Thank you to all! **** Cleanliness of Location - The carpet throughout looks very dirty, almost disgusting. They definitely look like they have not been cleaned for some time which is gross because as a client I have to step on the bare carpet when removing shoes and socks getting a massage. The front desk, waiting area, sheets, & restrooms seemed clean though. Was looking for a "no star" option. I am so miserable about the current experience. It felt like I am experiencing hidden rules of what I can't do. My boyfriend paid for the whole year package, and I had hours remaining. Suddenly my account was suspended. No one notified me, then when I inquired about it, I felt the staff were less than satisfied to help me. I was told the manager returned my call, but my smartphone disclosed otherwise. No left messages and my VM is empty. I called back and was told my fee was waived and can use my hours, but I am no longer an "active member". I really don't understand what just happened. Let me understand this correctly. An individual pays $140 for a 1-hour massage from a massage therapist straight out of massage school when you get a better quality massage from "those other places." Better yet, a person pays $80/ mo for a "subscription" to be a member only to realize they charge you another $70 per massage. So, a "member" pays more than a non-member for just one massage. Remember that you pay for a subscription, and your appointments are not guaranteed. So what are you paying for? Worse yet, although the kid massaging seemed kind, I told him I have tension in my upper back, traps, and neck... what's the one trouble spot they didn't work on for an hour??? The traps. Any lifter, office worker, or parent knows this pain in the neck and how wonderful it feels when you get relief following a good massage. I think people who have deep pockets can afford this place. For a couples massage, we paid more than $300!!!! Which included a 20% tip for the amateur massage therapists because they tried, and we're not total a-holes. We could have easily paid under $200 from other "non-professional" massage therapists. And we will next time. This place will never see our business again. Overpriced, overrated, and underperformed. Cancelling my membership. I've been a member with massage envy for probably 10 years and I'm sad to go but what occurred over this last week was the final straw. There were numerous times that I had my massage cancelled by this location on extremely short notice, the last cancellation happened 20 minutes before my scheduled appointment time... I had already been on my way to my appointment when I received a text letting me know my massage had been cancelled. I let it go and didn't let it get to me. Fast forward to my scheduled appointment last week where I needed to cancel because my dad passed away. Sadly my dad decided to die the same day as my appointment so the response I received from the office was that I would be liable for a 50% service fee. While I understand that this is their policy, I find it extremely ironic that Massage Envy can inconvenience their customers without any sort of reparations but a customer needs to cancel an appointment same day because of an emergency and forced to pay a service charge. In addition to what I mentioned above, the service charge could have been handled by using the accumulated credits on my account, instead this location decided to charge my card $105. read more

I've been a member for 2+ years now and I really enjoyed my massages there with Kaela. I stopped going for a while, then I got pregnant, so I had to pause my membership. Kaela is no longer there and I have not had any luck with the therapists there. One of my appointments after waiting 15 minutes in the waiting area the receptionist told me that Alexis was not there. I emailed to complain and nobody ever reached out to me. I had an appointment last week with Julia and a few hours before my session I was called that she was a no show. I don't have many options anymore at this location and I'm hoping I can find a therapist that works well for me at the other Riverside location, but it's further from me. My first time going!! I had an appointment with Vanessa and it was a prenatal massage. The entire time she made me feel comfortable and made sure I was okay. I ended up getting sick (my pregnancy has had me sick for 5 months now) and she was there the ENTIRE time. I felt so embarrassed and she reassured me and held my hair and everything. I paid $140 for a deep tissue massage and told the consult person that I needed focus on my neck and shoulders. When I tell you I had the most sensual, soft ARM rub from Koji. He's great if you just want to RELAX!!! But that's not what I paid for. I went to massage envy because I've been very stressed and needed some tension relief because I also get migraines WHICH I SPOKE TO THE CONSULT PERSON ABOUT...but I left even more stressed and feeling like they took from me. I won't be going back. My appointment was from 4-5pm today. I was literally on the freeway by 502. I got dressed, paid and was on the freeway BY 502!!! . I cannot give a rating for massage envy. It was the most worst experience I had in my life 1.they messed up my appointments twice. 2. They don't explain anything regarding the massage if they ask you if there a certain area that you need to be focus on. They will just focus on that area point charge you $140 and not get a full massage. And I have been to different spas and this is was the worst. I will not go back there. I received a massage at Massage Envy Central, located at 3639 Riverside Plaza Dr., Suite 506 and was injured by a massage therapist who stretched my neck during a massage treatment and strained the ligaments in my neck. I called to speak to the manager about my service and she refused to take my call directing me back the representative who answered the phone. I told the representative that I preferred to speak with the manager, and she replied in a condescending tone, "Well she's just going to have to call you on her time". The manger never called, so I called back a little later and spoke to Zack who informed me that the manager "just left for the day". Two days have passed, and the manager still has not called me back. Both representatives refused to provide me the manager's name, but I was informed that there is only one manager. I also requested to speak with the general manager and was denied the name and phone number of the general manager. Massage Envy is a franchise so there is no oversight by a corporate office, therefore, there is no one holding the managers of Massage Envy Franchises accountable. This is why the manager was snippy and refused my phone call...Because there is no accountability. This leaves me no choice but to seek legal assistance in this matter since I cannot get a phone call back from the manager. I had to spend my evening in the emergency room and am still in pain, having to ice my neck, take muscle relaxers and lidocaine patches so that I can sleep and work. I simply wanted to inform the manager of what occurred so that they could protect other people from experiencing this pain, request they fix the injuries their staff member inflicted on my neck and request a refund for this service, but the manager refused to accept my phone call, the representative gave me "attitude" and they showed me they do not care about their customers. Very disgusting behavior from a manager and now I have to escalate this matter to a higher court. Be careful out there people getting massages at Massage Envy. Some of the massage therapists really know what they are doing while others do not and can hurt you. You never know what your getting when you lay on that table and I would recommend that NO ONE allow the massage therapists to stretch you! I was gifted a massage for Christmas and was so excited to use it after a long road trip. I specifically booked with an individual that had firm pressure, upgraded to their CBD product and sprang for the full hour. To my disappointment, the therapist spend more time adjusting the bed up and down than they actually did massaging me. The pressure was medium at best and the whole experience was definitely mediocre. I've had better experiences at little hole in the wall Asian ran massage parlors than I did at Massage envy. Don't upgrade to the CBD oils either, it made no difference. read more

However, though the office staff is still friendly, the masseuse was terrible. Kaela used so much pressure that I have deep purple bruises on my back, and it is still sore two days later.
