Hooray for easy parking right next to Trader Joe's! I had never been to a Massage Envy before and was pleased with my first experience. The interior was calming and clean. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't feel like anyone pushed me into getting a membership (a staff member only mentioned it once, which was fine). The front desk staff was really nice and David, my masseuse, was friendly and gave me just the right amount of pressure. I took a star off because of something odd I witnessed: behind the reception desk, there was an open door leading to a staff area where I saw some scattered styrofoam cups next to a bottle of Bailey's! Finally decided to invest in myself! New job, new stress... a working girl needs a massage. The got me in with their $49 intro offer and actually hooked me into something that I am using and can't wait to use on a monthly basis. It's $59/month and then additional sessions within the same month are $39. If you buy a package for a family member (which I did), their membership is $49/mo. They also have referral incentives. I like that you can use your monthly session for either an hour massage or a facial. My masseur, Elliot does a great job, super professional, which can sometimes be a concern. But nothing to fear, I always leave completely relaxed. They have an add on aromatherapy oil that they can use, but note that if you check in on their Facebook page, you get one free. Any extra oil/lotion is given to you to take home. They have a waiting room with citrus water, and the Pasadena location is conveniently located next to Trader Joes. They took my temperature upon arrival, they all wore masks, they enforced mask wearing on customers, and sanitized well. Went there for the 2nd time with a terrible headache due to neck pain (computer work). The welcome was not bad but not super nice easier. The facility is kind of plain with old looking furniture. (South Pasadena one looks a lot better). Most importantly, the massage was not very efficient. I did ask her a couple of time what type of massage she was doing as I could barely feel her hands being still on my back. She did indeed remove one knot from my neck, and she was nice, so kudos for that (hence the 2 stars) but I was still in pain after 50min massage (like mentioned below, the 60min is actually 50min and I think this is only at that facility, and pretty sure someone can sue them for false advertising). When asked how I was feeling during the payment process, I mentioned i was still in pain. They didn't really care. The next day, still in pain, I got an automatic survey by email and a rated 4 on the massage, I checked the option about a call back. On Monday, Tim (who didn't dare to give his full name and is apparently the owner of that franchise) called me back. When I explained the situation and inquired about a refund, he said that was not possible since I knew the price ahead and no one can guarantee that a massage will relieve pain (!). I explained again that I would need a 2nd massage and that clearly all this was not worth the high end price (trying to hint him to at least some good customer service) but he sounded really annoyed and limit aggressive. I ask then what was the point of him calling me back and he repeated multiple times "because you asked me to". Better answer would be "because we want to make sure you are satisfied, ..." or something similar. I understand that in any business some clients won't be totally happy. But clearly no one care about the customer service in that location and I now understand where it comes from. Plenty of cheaper options around there with surprisingly better customer service and results. read more

If your going to book an appointment.... book it with MANNY! I probably shouldn't say that because he will be even harder to book with..... but he is so knowledgeable about all the muscles he is working on. I don't even have to tell him what hurts on my neck or back, he just knows exactly what to do. He works magic! He is also very professional and kind. Also, the receptionist Stevie is so nice. I was rushing to my appointment after work, running late due to LA traffic, and she offered to push back my appointment 30 minutes so I could get a full hour. So for starters over the phone, Elyssa was very professional and friendly, then in person, she remained the same...the spa was clean, smelled nice and they have really tasty citrusy water. My massage therapist was Shavondra and she was awesome! Very clear consultation centered on my body's needs. She was caring and asked if the pressure was too strong or weak and honestly I even feel like my posture has been improved in addition to my stressed out back and shoulder muscles no longer being wound so tight! Got the membership for 70$/month, to be billed in 30 days and if I need more than 1 massage a month it's 50$ for me or I can gift it to someone else at 60$. I'm very happy...down to earth and easy! I'm going to start by saying I really love this place, the girls at the front desk are always so sweet and friendly, in person and over the phone. I've been getting my recent massages from Doug and I have to say he's my favorite! He's amazing, he does a great job and is always so professional. I feel so relaxed, and my trigger points are no longer tense after the massage. It also helps a lot with the headaches and congestion I get, on top of getting rid of my muscle tension. I would recommend him for sure :) I get my facials done by Anna, she is also amazing, she listens and gives great advice for your specific skin type, I actually saw a big difference in my skin, and I didn't even go home with a red face which was great :D read more

Don't waste your $ here! Their "60 minute massages" are only about 45 minutes, and staff is not friendly at all! Over the phone, I asked the receptionist the price and stated I haven't been to a Massage Envy in a few years. She stated its $100 for a massage but $50 if you're a member. I asked how long the membership is (I was previously a member 6 years ago in another city). She said they have a 12 month, 6 month and 3 month program. She then said the 3 month program requires payment upfront so I asked if it was $150. She said, no it's actually $210 but they have a special so the month is $60 not $70. I asked why she would say my first massage is $50 if I am paying $60/month, which only includes one massage per month. She then repeated that it is $50 per massage. She also kept going back and forth between $60 and $70 again. How is it $50/massage if you require me to pay $60 or $70 for the first massage and I only intend to use it once a month? Note: This is for the facials only. I have had really good massage experiences.... However I had the grave displeasure of a friend convincing me to get a facial after our massage. I filled out my skin profile (which included me having sensitive skin and rosacea) and the esthetician decided d/t have ONE zit on my face, that meant that I should have the "acne" Murad treatment... the facial itself was ok, not very relaxing considering the esthetician smelled of a very strong musky perfume... The next day my face swelled up and I had to go to urgent care for topical steroids... three days later I called the store and informed them of what happened and was checking to make sure I could return the product I had purchased from the line since I thought I was allergic to the line. I then spoke to the lead esthetician who proceeded to inform me that they should have NEVER used the product on my skin considering my rosacea (which she noted on my form). When I returned the products there was no apology or compensation for burning my skin off of my face. I suggest to steer clear of their facials bc they obv have no idea what they are doing. read more

Had to write an update for this place because it got even worse. The massage itself here was fine. But then I stupidly (and sleepily) signed up for a membership. I honestly didn't know what I was signing up for, the next day my buyer's remorse kicked in, and I called to cancel. Turns out you can't cancel without owing them for the full 12 months!!!! I've tried for four days now, argued with at least four different people, finally got their manager on the phone, and he was basically trying to offer me to split the cost with him on it?! What? How about just reverse the stupid membership I got four days ago? Apparently as soon as it goes to corporate they have absolutely no control over it anymore. I want to scream. I do not want to come back to this place ever again. I have to laugh at the irony of this, I came here to relax from all the stress I go through, and instead I got 1000X's more stress than I could ever imagine. Thanks Massage Envy! This review is striclty in regards to the management and the corporation that is Massage Envy. I've been a member for almost two years. I've referred people here for massages. You would think that they would treat a loyal customer with better service but they don't. Massage Envy is just about getting memberships and not about customer service. The red flags started when I joined. I should have known then to not join but I decided to give it a shot. They have a policy that you need to cancel any appointment within four hours otherwise you get charged a full massage fee. When I joined, the therapist/receptionist told me, "it's not really enforced since we aren't a very busy location." Well the one time I cancelled with less than 4 hours due to illness, they were quick to tell me that they were going to charge me a massage fee. I had to argue with them about this on the phone and was told that if someone decided to take my spot, they wouldn't charge me the fee. How about you just stick to what you told me when I signed up? I decided to cancel my membership this year. I never knew cancelling a membership would be so confusing. I was advised that I had to give 30 days notice to cancel my membership. I sent notice in April. I was told that I would still be charged for my May dues and then was told that I had 30 days from my May 26 to use any unused sessions. Basically, if you don't use your monthly massages, they accrue. I had an appointment on May 23rd and on that day I was again told that I still had 30 days to use up any massages. Yesterday, I called and was told by someone else that my massages had expired and that if I wanted to back a massaged, I needed to pay the full fee. Each time I call, I was told something completely different. Oh, and they never keep track of who you speak with in their notes. I should have done this and learned my lesson. They don't honor what they tell you and furthermore, if I have already paid for these massages, why should they expire?? I should be allowed to use them since they have already been paid for. Customer service is horrible and like I said, all they are interested in is making the sale. Also, I asked for the manager to email me a copy of my contract. I've been checking my email and nothing has been sent to me. Again, poor customer service. The manager said abosolutely nothing to try to alleviate the situation and just said, if you want a massage, you need to pay the full fee. Also, they're is presently a class action lawsuit against Massage Envy on this exact issue. I'd hate to give this place 3 stars because my experience has been awesome at this location until today...I originally had an appointment with Lupe who I REALLY really like (5 STARS!) because she gives SUPER deep pressure for my neck and shoulders -- which are literally rock solid with knots. Within 2 visits she already loosened me up a lot...unfortunately she recently injured her wrist so I was asked to either wait for her recovery...or pick another therapist to go with. I asked the receptionist to see if she had any suggestions for therapists that give DEEP deep pressure because that is what I needed in order to get relief for my stiff neck and shoulders. She threw out a name for a therapist that has been mentioned in some other posts on this page...and said that she was highly requested therapist. Okay..must be awesome right? Don't get me wrong maybe she is great for a relaxing massage...but I had specifically asked for someone that can use A LOT of pressure. I had mentioned my neck as a very uncomfortable part that needed attention and she literally spent about 1 minute on it...barely touching my knots...which was really frustrating for me. I had asked her to put more pressure but it felt like she started putting LESS pressure on me. She kept going through the same motions over and over again on my shoulder blades (and it felt like she was trying to rock me to sleep--which almost worked)...which would be fine...if it felt like she was making even a DENT on my knots. Not only that, I never was asked to flip over on my back so she could work more on my neck..which EVERY massage therapist I have seen has asked me to do. Maybe I'm overreacting but I hate walking out of a massage feeling unsatisfied...I was uncomfortable the whole time...especially since I already told her several times I wanted deep pressure. She also started me 10 minutes late which was a bad way to start a massage (who takes 10 minutes to get out of their clothes and jump on the massage table?) and when I got dressed after the massage she wasn't there with water (i know...first world problems...right? but i was already sick of waiting around) so i just walked out to the front desk. So here I am..sitting here writing this review...jabbing myself with a damn Theracane and thinking about how I feel so much better now using this thing than what I just experienced earlier tonight. My massage therapist was so nice and professional and I had no problems with her or during the massage. It was the after effect of the massage and what transpired after that I had issues with. 20 minutes after my session, I started feeling sore and it progressed to discomfort and nagging pain. I was so sore and my neck, shoulder and whole back was so tender to touch that I wasn't able to sleep that night. I had to take a prescribed pain medication to ease the pain and a muscle relaxant, which helped me with the pain and knocked me out to sleep. The next day it got worst, so I decided to write a letter to the management so it won't happen to other clients or to me ever again. FYI, I have had massages (deep tissue and Swedish) from other spa establishments but never did I experienced such terrible after effect of a massage. I thought massages were for relaxation and to rejuvenate, I guess not. Also, I got offended on how the manager think that I was trying to get some compensation from what had happen to me. All I wanted was for them to know so they could fix the problem and that this issue would never happen again. But they took it differently and they were so defensive instead of empathizing (esp I'm still hurting and in pain right now). They kept on insisting that its normal to be sore when you get deep tissue massage, as if I never had one and they said its because i had previous massage therapy from a different establishment within that week. Imagine yourself going to a recommended hair salon. You meet a solid stylist and leave with a great haircut. It's your new place. But on your way out they pressure you to become a member. Membership has its privileges... which are cheaper rates. So what's the catch? You must come once a month for a year to get those rates. And worse -- they don't guarantee your stylist. And all of this is under a signed contract. Hmm. There's something wrong there, right? But what is it? Figured it out yet? It's called bait and switch. You were presented with a personal experience like a quality salon, but in order to get good prices in the future you must sign a contract that puts you in a SuperCuts situation. Sure, they may make every verbal effort to get you and your preferred stylist together -- but they won't put that in a contract. Your stylist could leave a month later. But you're stuck. Tell me: would you go to this salon? I wouldn't. And nobody should. For the same reason I wouldn't become a 'member' of a restaurant that forced me to come once a month to get a cheaper menu. What's wrong here is MASSAGE ENVY is exhibiting a complete lack of faith in their product. They are apparently so terrified you won't come back for another massage they want to pressure you into a contract. A spa run by a used car salesman. This is easily the dumbest marketing move I've experienced. It frankly should be illegal to do this. Massage Envy. There is a civilized way to do what you want. A way that doesn't pressure a happy customer into an angry one. Here's what you do -- and it's so damn simple: offer prepaid 'gift' cards. The customer can buy 3 massages in 3 months with their preferred stylist at a discounted rate. Or 6 massages within 6 months at an even better rate. And that's it. No contracts, no high pressure sales baloney. At the time of purchase you set a time and day that the masseuse can commit. Every Tuesday at 2:30. Simple. Done. If the masseuse leaves the remaining massages are immediately refunded. This notion ends the contracts and bait and switch. What I experienced instead was the world's most obnoxious sales pitch. My masseuse did such amazing work on me I walked out half dizzy. Honestly. I explained as much to the saleswoman twice. That I was woozy. She didn't care. She kept pushing. Push push! For that I'll be reporting you folks to whoever cares in Pasadena and California. read more

I should give this 3 stars but Eric was really good, so I will be a bit more generous. I am not used to the fast food massage chains and won't really be back. It is clear it is company policy and that they require their staff to solicit additional services to you. AFTER the massage you are led into a private room where they can solicit a membership to you. I listened to the entire pitch and declined the offer. I was still recovering from a relaxing experience and decompression, but trying to sell me AFTER my massage is really a poor choice. I barely even remembered my name. When I declined she asked me WHY.... so now, I am forced to explain to you my financial situation? In this economy you are going to question why I don't want to buy a membership at a chain for a luxury? GTFOH. Huge turn off. 4 stars for Eric- his touch was awesome and he was 100% professional. The only thing I had a difficult time was understanding why the lotion/oil was so damn cold! I haven't had a massage without the lotion being warmed in years and years. It is a simple fix, especially for a huge chain! Actually, as you guys can see, I have changed my review to 3 stars after writing it. The more I think about it, the more I really abhor the company approach to solicitation and especially their timing. Referring me to their offers and memberships while at the counter checking out is completely acceptable. As a business owner myself, I understand how important that is. This review is for This Store Only! I scheduled a 1 hour pre-natal massage and facial for myself, and a 1 hour massage for my husband Memorial Day Weekend. I had Never had a pre-natal massage before, so I was curious to see what that was all about. My husband was swept away to his massage first and on time. A little late, my masseuse came to get me and take me to the room. She had a firm handshake and I though YAY! I Love firm massages (which it specified on the massage form and the pre-natal form I had to fill out). She told me to get ready and lay on my stomach, as all "regular" massages start. I thought, this is weird... I thought I was not supposed to be laying flat.... but I don't know. So the massage began. Actually, I take the massage part back. The very strange and stressful experience began. This technician began to touch my skin as if I had 3rd degree burns all over. There was no rubbing, no massaging, no pressure of any sort. She would very lightly touch my skin, and sometimes, she would just leave her hand resting on me for a while. I thought she fell asleep at a point so I shifted to get her moving again. She then had me turn over to lay FLAT on my back. *Pre-natal newbies... This is not Right!! Never lay Flat on your back or front. You should always be laying on your side with bolus pillow supports, even if you're not showing yet! She began her touch therapy again, which is Not what I requested... but I was hesitant to say anything since I'd never had a pre-natal massage before. I was getting stressed though. I was laughing at some points because it was just ridiculous. I really believe she was dozing off and tipping over at some points and I had to keep shifting to make her start up again. She actually massaged one of my middle fingers for ~1 minute. No Joke. When it was over, she mumbled some inaudible sentence and began to leave. I said WHAT? And she said get dressed and I'll meet you outside. When I had the massage and facial at the Hastings Ranch location, they did both treatments in one room. So this is another ding in the service. My heart was pounding from the horrible 40 or so minutes I'd just experienced. When I got out in the hall, all dressed and pissed off, the woman was no where to be found. Maybe she was taking a nap in the back. I waited, and waited... and finally I walked down the hall to see if I could find anyone else. About 5 minutes or so later, she ambled towards me. I then met my esthetician. As she prepared me, in an inclined position with bolus pillows, I told her all about the experience I just had. She said that was Not Right and went to tell the front desk about it. She came back to give my facial. She told me she had just done about six back to back facials and I was her last. yay. That's what I want to hear. She's worn out and can't wait to leave for her long weekend. It was not a bad facial, except for one of the extractions turned into a HUGE zit a few hours later. I talked to the front desk about the most horrible massage of my life. The very kind receptionist was awesome and listened to my story. She let me know the manager would be calling me and I would receive a credit for the massage. When I met up with my husband, I asked how his massage went. He said the woman didn't understand english very well, and when she asked him if he wanted his stomach massaged and he said no. She began to rub his stomach anyway. He said it was an OK massage, but would not want to go again. Later in the week I got a very short and unapologetic Voicemail from a receptionist letting me know about my credit for a massage or facial. Thanks. I guess the manager was Busy. I was going to hold off on writing this review until I used my credit, to see if it was some horrible fluke! But I'm still kinda traumatized... and I just don't want to go back. I'm hoping if I wait long enough, all the staff will have changed over. Anyway, two days after that terrible experience, I booked another pre-natal massage (with my membership credit) at the Glendale location. Oh Baby!!! What a difference. Let's just say, it was one of the best massages I have ever had (with Martha). I've been back to that location since. And I still enjoy the Hasting Ranch location. This was my first and last time at Massage Envy. My "60 minute massage" started at 4:15 and was over by 4:55 so it was really a lousy 40 mins - and when I complained all they said was: yeah, that's usually the case especially with your first time here (5 mins to sign the paperwork, 5 mins for the masseuse to get the room ready (they didn't know I was doing a prenatal massage), 5 to get undressed and wait for the masseuse to begin and the last 5 to get dressed and leave the room). Are you kidding me? Every massage/spa gives the customer time to get settled - except this place! As for the massage, it was a prenatal and easily the most disappointed I've been after a massage. Multiple times I had to jerk away from her hands that did not seem trained at all in massage. She kept pushing against areas and it felt so awkward and uncomfortable. 1 star for the clean location and the front desk who was really courteous and friendly. read more

I recently decided to try a little something different for Mother's Day - get my mom something she might actually like. LOL. I decided to give this place a try for a couple of reasons. First, I had heard good things about one of their therapists named Natasha. The word on her was that she had crazy good skills and that was really important to me because I wanted my mom to be in capable hands. Also, $49 for a 1 hour massage seemed like an incredible deal. I figured whats the worst that could happen? If the massage is great, then not only do I score major points with my mama, but I do so on the cheap. If the massage isnt the best, well, then I am only out $49 and I still get points for trying, right? Before I get into the massage, let me start with how professional, caring and attentive the ENTIRE staff was. I called on a Friday afternoon in the hopes of booking an appointment with Natasha for the very next day, Saturday. I spoke to a Jessica. She was sooo accomodating even though it was such short notice and when I explained to her that I was hoping for a 90 minute massage, she said she would do whatever she could to try to make it happen. I felt, from the very instant we communicated, that this was a person who truly loves her job. She went out of her way to answer every question I had and made me feel like a long time customer and not some random guy just calling out of the blue. My mom and I found the place without any problem (you just park in the parking lot for The Shops on Lake- basically Macy's, Trader Joe's etc). As soon as we walked in, I found myself with Jessica again, who remembered me from the phone and instantly made us feel right at home in a VERY comfortable waiting area that is stocked with super comfy chairs and a delicious cucumber water. Needless to say, I was feeling really good about my Mother's Day gift at this point. Then we meet Natasha, the massage therapist. She had this reassuring, cheerful personality that instantly put my mom at ease (as well as myself). She took my mom away for the next hour while I waited in the quiet comfort of their waiting area. Someone, cant remember who, came in at some point to make sure I was comfortable (I totally was), which I found to be such a nice touch. My mom finally arrives after an hour with Natasha. I have NEVER seen my mom soooo relaxed in my life. She literally GLOWED. She could not stop going on about how Natasha was so attentive to her needs and how she just really knew what she was doing. At some point my mom even fell asleep! Knowing my mom as I do, I would have never thought she would be comfortable enough with a stranger to just relax like that, but obviously Natasha is a master of her craft because she really managed to put my mom at ease. This was the best Mother's Day gift I have ever managed to pull off, and I still can't believe I did it for as little as I paid. It seems ridiculous that they can charge so little for such a high level of massage, but please give them a try because this is one of those very rare cases where the price of the service doesn't come close to approaching the quality of the service - and I mean that in a good way! I'm knocking off 1 star for all the hassle that my bf had to go through because they charged his credit card incorrectly not once but three times. He had to call Massage Envy several times to resolve the issue and that's just annoying. I highly recommend you book your prenatal massage (and postpartum) with Sofia. I have seen a few different massage therapists at this location and one other location, and Sofia is the best. Sofia KNOWS -- she will get those pillows properly aligned and she knows my back and shoulders ache and that I haven't seen my ankles in weeks (months?) -- she knows and she will take care of it! And then, best of all, after I had the baby, she offered me the special support bolster -- essentially a hard foam wedge with cutouts for lying down on. Wait, they have that?!? (The therapist at the other location didn't offer me that... what a fool I was for booking with someone other than Sofia!) Thus a postpartum massage with SOFIA is the most comfortable you've been since before you were pregnant. And Sofia remembers and has this pillow all set up at my next appointment?!? YAAASSSSSS.... Amazing experience at this location! Warned by a friend early to let the sales desk know that I was not interested in the package deals! This little tip saved me a lot of time and saliva trying not to be sucked into buying their package deal. I came here to so that I could use the first time $49 1 hour massage deal and brought my boyfriend and both of us were amazingly satisfied. Our masseuses were very professional and accommodating to our needs. When you first go in they basically have you fill out a short survey about previous massage experiences (I assume so that they can use it against you later to sell you package deals) and also where you'd be comfortable being massaged and with what degree of pressure. If you're up for the package deal by all means purchase it, but if you're like me and would just like to have a relaxing massage without being sold anything then let them know up front. I also suggest tipping the masseuses at least $20 if you're going for the first time deal since a typical massage is around 100$. I went to one of these years ago and when my usual person was booked I was desperate and decided to give this location a try. I feel like the membership is very gym (predatory) like but its just...complicated not predatory as it seemed. A 60 min massage is $100 without a membership and $50 with one. If you sign up for 12 months there is no cancellation fee (the lower tiers demand upfront payment and entry fee payments) and you can cancel or freeze it at any point. You pay $70 a month and that can be applied towards any hour long treatment (they do facials as well), or you could do a say 90 min treatment and pay the left over difference. If you use your one service, you pay $50 more a month. Look its fricken confusing and honestly I feel a review that long should cover the service not some convoluted consultant bs speak. The company would do better to make it simple and not double the price if you don't sign up. Sometimes people just want a service, not a lifelong commitment. I asked for a male masseuse (women rarely use enough pressure for my issues) and was given a woman. While I was skeptical she actually was very good and followed my requests properly and put as much power as I needed into the treatment. If you check in on yelp you get a free add on so I did that and got relaxation oil. After the treatment a patient employee walked me through the membership hoops and I signed up. I need monthly treatment so knowing I can have this and yet freeze or cancel if I can't afford it is fine by me. Location was nice, clean, easy parking and staff was friendly. If they were just a local place I'd recommend them, but that membership bs means I'd probably not because most friends of mine wouldn't want to deal with that. read more

The massage I got was 1.5 hours (although it went a bit short) and was really good quality. I went in super stressed out but felt so so much better once I left. I went to massage envy in Pasadena today for the first time. Let me just say that this is by far the BEST investment I have made on myself in years. A little back story - When I was a kid, I broke the growth plate in my ankle... resulting in having one leg that is slightly shorter than the other. This caused more back problems than I can even explain. I have severe scoliosis. Part of my spine is fusing together. There is not a single day that goes by where I am not painfully aware of my back. Sitting, standing, laying down... very few things help it (except for heavy pharmaceuticals - an option I'd rather not pursue). Last night, I slept wrong and woke up stiff, tight, and with new knots in my back. After a few hours of work, it was getting to be too much. I googled some places, and found massage envy. A friend of mine had a membership a while ago and swore by it. I thought, 'hey... i'll give em a try. anything is better than how I am feeling.' When I called massage envy, an incredibly sweet receptionist took my call. She asked me important questions regarding my back pain and previous massage history. She was polite, courteous, and extremely informative. When I made my appointment for only a few hours later, she made a point to let me know that because it was within a 4 hour window, should I need to cancel I would be charged. Maybe it's just me, but I appreciate full disclosure like that. It's an honest type of business practice and it makes me trust an establishment that much more. When I got there, the receptionists were incredible. They gave me tissues (the cold weather had me sniffling), pointed out where the restroom and waiting areas were, and offered me water and mints. Something about it just seemed to go the extra mile. You could just tell that they liked their jobs. They were smiley, cheerful, good natured people. For the price I was paying ($49.99 introductory rate), I was expecting a partially dilapidated building where the receptionists checked you in and went back to their gossip. No such thing here... you are genuinely getting the 5 star treatment at a 3 star price (something I think we can all appreciate in this economy). Lets get down to the massage itself though - Elliott was amazing. He was professional, funny, polite, and calming. I've had massages before where the people who are massaging you just give you the creeps. No creep factor here! Just a really nice guy who took the time to listen to what was ailing me. And lordy, was he strong! I'm a bit of a glutton for pain when it comes to my back because it's the only way that I've ever experienced results. I got a deep tissue massage from Elliott, and it was superb. Not painful - just the perfect amount of pressure without feeling like I was going to scream, and without ever thinking 'please press harder'. All around perfect from start to finish. I felt relaxed, comfortable, and like I was in the hands of someone who knew exactly what they were doing. I cannot say enough for him... he was my hero. When I walked out of my massage, IT WAS THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS THAT I HONESTLY COULDN'T FEEL MY BACK PAIN. I told the receptionist that, and she smiled from ear to ear. (Again, the receptionists there are genuine and compassionate... really a rockstar team). Long story short, TOTALLY WORTH MORE THAN WHAT I PAID. I bought a year membership. Just got back from the best massage I've ever had... Part of me doesn't want to post this for selfish reasons so it's not harder to make an appointment with Flor! I've had many great masseuses at this Massage Envy location but Flor was perfect for what I was looking for. If you want/need a truly deep tissue massage, she's the person for the job. I have tons of tension in my shoulders and have tried physical therapy, massage and acupuncture to alleviate my knots. The pressure level that Flor used (ensuring it was the pressure level I wanted) couldn't have been more perfect. She really got in there and tackled the knots that have been causing me daily tension/pain and I can tell that just the one session thus far will make a huge difference for me. Furthermore, I had been thinking about cancelling my membership because I'm past my one year commitment but the massage I had from Flor has completely changed my mind. I highly recommend this location (everyone has always been friendly & professional and the facility is always super clean) but I really recommend and thank Flor for such a great experience! Great massage, courteous staff and clean environment. I waked in around 7:30pm and was instantly greeted and provided a cold cup of water. Since it was my first time at this establishment I was asked to fill out some paperwork and then brought back to the massage room. My massage therapist was awesome and worked on my trouble areas and made sure that I was happy with the pressure. Great place, a little pricy compared to smaller establishments but cannot complain. read more
