This was obviously an emotional day for our family, but he and his team created exactly the right atmosphere: elegant and classy, but still warm, comfortable, and family-centered. Our group of 32 guests was able to relax, talk, laugh, remember my mother, and truly enjoy being together. The food was outstanding from start to finish. This is authentic Italian cuisine prepared with real care. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and memorable. There was not a single mediocre item served. The short ribs and branzino were particular standouts, but honestly, everything was excellent. The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. When we went through all the bread, they went across the street to a local bakery to get more. When we were short on white wine, they helped procure additional bottles. At the end of the meal, Massimo even gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne to take home as a thank you. Those kinds of gestures say a lot about the heart of a restaurant. Every person in our group raved about the experience. Osteria Sola is a hidden gem right in the middle of town, and more people need to discover it. This is a very fancy ceviche, with cherries and all the fixins' which I would gladly order again... My wife's entrée was the Goffle Road farm half chicken (crispy fingerling potatoes, herb butter & roast chicken jus). Gotta say, they Lula's does a great job with this chicken. I stop by Goffle Road farm and the chicken is superior to pretty much anything else, but this came out with such a light crispy skin and so juicy and tender. Excellent! While I couldn't have any of the chicken liver mousse, it looked stunning, and my husband said that it was incredible and so light and fluffy, and it was a massive portion. I look forward to when we come back when I'm not pregnant and I can eat it. For dinner I got the Arctic char, and my husband got the pork. The Arctic char was unbelievable. It was piping hot and literally just melted in my mouth with each bite and the side that came with it was a mix of asparagus, mushrooms, farro and I don't know what else, but it was fantastic if I could have that side on its own as well, I would order more. My husband's pork was crispy and delicious with another incredible slaw topping, and it was so massive he has to take home like a third of it for dessert. This restaurant is our new favorite place and on the way out we even made a reservation for three weeks from now to come back. It can be turned into either a bolognese or a alfredo dish, but most are here to order, eat, or simply fix their hungry eyes on the preparation of the alfredo. What they do here is boil the fresh pasta and dump it straight into a hollowed out cheesewheel, along with some ladles of fresh alfredo sauce. The smells that come up from this area when that slurpy, cheesy goodness is being tossed around is remarkably savory and irresistable. So, of course, we ordered one. Protein toppings are available for an added charge, and we went with the chicken. This comes finely shredded, which is now the only way I want chicken in my pasta. The shreds got distributed all throughout the pasta, ensuring good portions of meat in most forkfuls. I had a feeling this would be very, very good even before I sat down to try them for the first time. The ladies asked if I wanted cilantro on top, which was the perfect add of even more flavor. They were so sweet and welcoming. Parking in downtown Englewood can be tough but I took the side street behind the row of stores and found the back entrance to Wahizza. I'm not sure if that's allowed but it made the pizza pick up a very quick and convenient experience. I plan on eating in next time bc the inside was so cute and looked very comfortable. Portions are huge, and the specials (we all had a various special) were delicious. The eggplant appetizer was also huge and lights out. The service is friendly and attentive. Outdoor ambiance isn't the best, but given the location right on a street, that's to be expected. Not one of us had a problem with it. They definitely should be on your places to check out.
