The menu is still the same, but Owner Cinthia recently added a wide variety of empanadas to the menu. It's time to crack open these homemade Dominican turnovers and check out the inner fillings. Beef: This original version of this folded turnover is packed with plenty of beef along with homemade seasonings. Bacon Cheeseburger: If you want to supplement toppings to the beef empanada, the bacon cheeseburger is a must try. It's practically identical to the classic sandwich. Ham and cheese: The savory ham combined with the gooey cheese will blow your tastebuds away Shredded Chicken: The seasoned chicken has a slight kick and you won't be disappointed. Pepperoni Pizza: If you want a variation of a classic pepperoni pizza pie, you've found it! If you are a vegetarian or simply need a break from all this protein, here are a few meatless empanadas to explore. Four Cheese: It's time to get the best of many worlds with mozzarella, cheddar, colby jack and pepper jack. Spinach and Cream Cheese: Here's a fair share of greens! Guava and Cream Cheese: This dessert empanada is a perfect closer to the meal. The sweet tropical fruit blends beautifully with the cream cheese. This was another flawless experience exploring this new menu addition. #unclefrankspizzeria #homemadeempanadas #dominicanempanadas #beefempanadas #baconcheeseburgerempanadas #hamandcheeseempanadas #shreddedchickenempanadas #pepperonipizzaempanadas #fourcheeseempanadas #guavaandcteamcheeseempanadas #GuavaEmpanadas #spinachempanadas #dumontnj #unclefrankspizza #dominicanstyleempanadas

The pasta was very creamy and enjoyed the flavor. As someone who loves steak and is picky with how I receive it, I had ordered a porterhouse Medium Rare, the first one we received was overcooked to medium well and our server second guessed me when I brought it to attention. He had to call over another worker to double check and we had to ask once again if we were able to get it redone to our liking before even getting it replaced right away. The second porterhouse we received was done correctly and was seasoned well and had enough fat to make it buttery and melty. Espresso Martini was made well and for Whiskey Sours, if you like them on the smokier side, I would recommend it. All in all, we enjoyed all the food but the only set back for us was that we had to wait a little longer for our steak which we wanted to pair with our pasta. By the time it came out correctly, our pasta was already cold.

We arrived right when they opened (perfect timing, especially with a snowstorm expected later that day), so the restaurant was still quiet. The space has a modern, upscale vibe that definitely feels suited for special occasions. It's located on a busy street, and while they do offer valet, we lucked out with free street parking since it was early. They offer a prix fixe brunch for $39 per person, which includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. It's a good way to experience the restaurant without committing to a full dinner price point--but be aware that quite a few items come with upcharges, and drinks are not included, so the bill can climb quickly. I do have a gluten allergy, and I was honestly surprised by how limited the gluten-free options were for a restaurant of this caliber. That said, I made it work: I started with a Bellini, had the sizzling slab of bacon as my appetizer, the recovery burger (no bun sub roasted potatoes as a side) as my main, and finished with the salted caramel gelato. Everything I had was enjoyable, but I would have appreciated more flexibility in the menu. The rest of the group (no dietary restrictions) had more variety to choose from and really enjoyed their meals, which is always a good sign. Service was attentive without being overbearing--likely helped by the fact that it wasn't too crowded yet--so we were able to relax and actually enjoy conversation, which made the celebration feel special. The restaurant also has a private back room that looks great for parties, plus a downstairs lounge area, which adds to its appeal as an event space. Overall, for me it's definitely more of a special occasion spot, and while the pricing is on the higher side for what you get, brunch feels like the best way to experience it. I'd come back again--but probably stick to brunch.

I felt a little like Ray Liotta in "Goodfellas". The service was excellent and our waiter rattled off an extensive list of daily specials and they all sounded wonderful. We settled on burrata and a fried vegetable appetizer. The burrata was good but the fried thing was even better. I wish I could remember what it was because it was so good. I guess that's what I get for writing my reviews 2 months later. It was some kind of vegetable stuffed with cheese, battered and fried. It wasn't too oily and all the flavors and textures went well together. For our entrees we went with linguini in clam sauce and cavatelli, broccoli rabe, & sausage. The linguini was a solid plate of pasta. Linguini, clams, sauce. It tasted exactly how you expect it would and the pasta was cooked well. The cavatelli was much more interesting to me. The different textures and flavors really made it a joy to eat. The pasta was al dente while some of the sausage had some crispy bits to it. And the broccoli rabe kind of made me feeling like I was eating somewhat healthy The ambiance was nice if not a little dated. Not bad though, it was cozy. I'd come back, but not too often. It's pricey.

The dining area is one room adorned with attractive art decor and a glass wall overlooking the main road. The Caesar salad was a light, yet satisfying starter. The romaine lettuce, croutons and house made dressing blended the perfect trio! If you are looking for an appetizer with a touch of sweet and spice, the sausage & broccoli rabe will do the trick. The protein and vegetable blended well together with some diced tomatoes thrown on top. As always, I can never visit any Italian establishment without trying the Chicken Parmesan. For the most part, it did not disappoint. My sole critique is the excess amount of moisture beneath the linguini. I also used any extra mozzarella cheese as a topping for the pasta and table bread. Named after its restaurant, the chicken ciao bella was breaded and pan fried. The lemon butter sauce definitely added flavor to the cutlets and the side vegetables were just as "bella" as the main entree. The coffee flavored dessert was paradise. The taste as so rich and pure in flavor, you definitely didn't need coffee either this final course. I highly recommend this location if you want a decent meal at reasonable price. We started with the three-color causa (traditional, pesto, and beet), each topped differently. The flavors were well balanced and thoughtfully put together. The mixed ceviche was fresh and bright, with a citrus note that really brought everything together. The choros a la chalaca were generous and nicely balanced between the flavor of the sea and acidity. I especially appreciated that they offer chifa cuisine (Peruvian-Chinese fusion), which you don't see everywhere in Bergen County. The tallarín chifa was well executed and full of flavor, and the tipakay added a great sweet and crispy contrast. Overall, a solid experience and definitely worth visiting if you enjoy Peruvian food in the area.
