Such a great unexpected find. Had to return something at The UPS Store which happens to be in the same shopping center. Wanted a quick slice for lunch so we decided to stop in. I'm so glad that we did. Ordered 4 slices. Vegetable slice with breaded eggplant, a regular cheese slice, buffalo chicken slice & a ricotta cheese with sausage & meatballs. All 4 were phenomenal. Came here for an early dinner on a Friday around 4:30pm. There was only one table occupied and the rest were empty. We were seated immediately. The waiter was very friendly. He took our order and brought out butter and toasted bread. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with the butter it was so good. I ordered chicken Parmesan and they gave us more Parmesan cheese and black pepper. The dish was pretty big and allowed me to take some for lunch the following day. The chicken parm was really good. Eh...It was fine...Maybe more menu exploration would be worth it. Like pizza. My son had the spaghetti and meatballs; there was not enough sauce and not enough seasoning in the sauce that was there. I ordered the bruschetta app for my meal. It was a large portion for the price, that's awesome, but here again there was a lack of seasoning. More garlic, balsamic, something is needed. You guys never called me that is a lie. I can pull up phone records so that is not true. And one of the chefs admitted to me that a lot of the guys in kitchen don't wear hats and that he thinks they should, but they don't. So no, TPR does not require that. Would love for health department to audit this place. And no I did not want another pizza as I am turned off by pizza after the hair was found in it. I was told the owner would call me and I never heard from anyone. Shame. And no I NEVER demanded something extra. I offered to pay whatever extra over the cost off pizza for difference. I don't normally give really low reviews but this was an unbelievable experience. It took 1 hour for us to get our food, four tables that were sat after us got their appetizers and main dishes before we can get our entrees. Two of these tables were groups of 9. Another table was sat after us, got all their food, and left before we were even finished eating. Found out it's because all these tables knew the owner. They're also a two part business where they have an eat in and a pick up for to go orders. Both are separated from each other. The best part of it was the food came out quickly! CONS: I ordered the chicken parm and the food was a little undercooked which cause stomach pains later on. I just called to order a gift card for my father for the holidays. I spoke with a gentleman I believe named Chris and he was fantastic. While they usually do not take charges over the phone and normally do E-Gift Cards I let him know the circumstance of me living in California and my father not having active email that an e-card was not likely going to work. At every opportunity him to say no he found a way to say yes. At the end of the call he then lets me know that instead of mailing this out he or someone from his establishment would drop it at my father's residence. I have been in the hospitality/restaurant business for 30 years and this gentleman that represented TPR today is an amazing representation of hospitality and superior customer service. In this COVID world, figured my best bet for a fun and safe Friday night would be dinner at TPR, where everyone seems to be extremely supportive of the varying worries related to COVID. I even noticed a server wearing his mask outside in the parking lot. This in itself was superb! Yet again I was not only thrilled with the new food offerings, but the staff is second to none. It is my understanding that the restaurant is under new control, which further underscores my elevated experience. Mr. Robert and his new team not only amplified my Friday night, but truly made it a memorable one, which we all know good pizza can do! Furthermore, the teams ordering suggestions were beyond my best expectations. In addition to my required "veal pizza", I was served some of the most culinary creative and quality Italian food I've ever had. No offense to Rudy's, but there's a new superstar in town! I continue to recommend the restaurant. For the rest of my time in NJ, I plan to continue to support this local business that (to my understanding) has recently had managerial changes, including Mr Robert. I am unsure if Mr Robert is a regular waiter, manager, or what, but all I am certain of is that him and his newly in place team including both Ben and Regina are excellent providers. I look forward to supporting this local business, and hope that others can join me in support as the overall SMB economy rebounds from pandemic headwinds. I not only reiterate the importance of supporting local businesses during this time, but also the fact that TPR provides service, food, safety, and customer service at a level I've only historically witnessed from Michelin rated restaurants. Surprised at how extensive the restaurant's menu was for a pizza place. I had the seafood fra diavolo and it was good - a nice amount of heat, not over the top. My friends' capellini with broccoli rabe and the gnocchi with meat sauce were good too. They remodeled in the past year or so and have plenty of comfortable seating. I would recommend trying TPR for a casual Italian eat-in destination. read more
