My mother bought a chairlift from this company. The chairlift rarely works. My mother has missed…read moreout on many things do to the chair lift not working. Once she needed to get to the hospital and the chair would not work. Twice she was scheduled for a haircut, but had to cancel last minute do to malfunction. Another time was to attend a birthday party. The list goes on and on. We requested specific installation requirements. The chairlift needed to be extended away from the front door. The lift was installed before we moved in. The lift lines up with the front. This makes it hard to get in and out of the house. Avoid this company at all costs. The chairlift was very expensive!

Our story with NSM begins October 2020. My husband had been in a rehab facility after having a…read moremajor stroke June 2020. The therapists there had NSM come in to measure him for a manual wheelchair. Fortunately my husband was able to come home but would be wheelchair bound. He came home with a loaner chair from NSM. He received VNA services for several weeks. The PT contacted the salesman from NSM to find out where his permanent chair was. She was told it was denied and had to be remeasured and refiled. I had not received any calls regarding this denial. The VNA PT was able to get the same salesman to come and remeasure. This was early November 2020. Time went by with no calls. I called the salesman, left messages on his voicemail several times with no return calls. This went on from mid November until mid February. While at Spaulding rehab as an outpatient, I was mentioning this to his new therapist and how upset we were at the lack of communication there was from NSM. Standing right next to me was a representative from NSM who immediately contacted his manager with our story. I thought that was the answer. She called back that same day saying the order was not sent yet!! She filed it again and we got the chair mid March 2021. This delay stunted his progress , plus because it took so long, things weren't right and the foot rest broke after just a week, so it wasn't able to raise or lower. Funny how that was repaired quickly. But things were still not right. I called and called and finally got that manager because the salesman didn' t answer again. She got him to come out in May 2021 to redesign the chair. I still have not heard a word from that salesman!! I've called and called not only to him and the manager but also the main 800 number which never returned that call, left messages, spoke to the manager may times with the promise that he would call the next day. But he did not. I was told 3 weeks ago that he had pulled the new parts off the shelves and would call that day. No call, no parts yet. It is now December 3, 2021. This is crazy. It is no way to run a business that is supposed to be helping handicapped people during the worst time of their lives!

Ok. That was a little off putting and assuming of him. The next script for equipment was not covered by my insurance but he didn't take a moment to show me the products. It turns out they are not expensive to buy out of pocket. I was in pain and asked if I could sit. He said yes but didn't tell me where there was a place for customers to sit while he did the insurance check. The only redeeming part is that when I returned to pick up the equipment he was nice about placing it in the car for me.

Heather was extremely kind on the phone and very pleasant to deal with. Delivery of the chair was done by two associates who were professional and thorough. They wanted to make sure the chair was situated and in the spot I wanted it AND that I was comfortable. Their sister store Agawam Medical Supply has a showroom where you can see the chair and some of the items they sell. 5 stars all the way.

I'm still researching chairs and I'm not eager to get one online with out seeing it first. However, I need a chair. I tried to give my money to the brick and mortar store but it was a total failure. When there are no more stores available, it will be because of situations like this. Obviously I can't rate how you'll be treated if you go there to shop. My location was a bit out of their area of coverage, but the gentleman I spoke was clearly knowledgeable and gave me his time and advice on my stairlift issue. He explained the exact bolt, location, and wrench size I needed to address my issue. He even offered me to call him back when I was at the location should I need further advice!!! I may be able to resolve it myself. Solano Mobility has an authentic concern for helping others. That is a great metric for judging the value system of the company. I recommend viewing the Youtube videos to confirm the company's "How can I help" attitude. I wish they covered my area.
