I was told by the receptionist and two other people there that if I brought in my contact lens prescription, my contact lens fitting exam fee would be $60 instead of $150. Since I was told this more than once, and I did bring in my lens prescription, I assumed all was well, but was told by the SAME receptionist who assured me of the $60 fee that my fee was $150 after the exam ended. I reminded her of this and she tried to argue with me about it. She finally conceded, I paid my $60 and left. A brief time later, I get a bill in the mail saying I owe an additional $90. I sent it back with a note saying that I had already paid the $60 I was promised would be the fee. Now, I go to buy contacts from 1 800 contacts and they won't honor my prescription because the doctor specified the ONE brand of contacts he carries that are way more expensive and don't come in the color I want. WHY was I not told this at the beginning of the exam? Now I'm being told that I would have to come in and pay for ANOTHER contact fitting exam to get the brand that I want to buy, or else I can't buy them. HUGE waste of time and money! Its unfair to NOT alert the customer that the prescription is ONLY for one brand of contacts BEFORE the exam. I'm feeling very ripped off and very angry.
