We gave Mash'D a second chance after going there on an off day for them and I am so glad we did! We went for lunch this time. I started off with the pineapple bomb. My husband got the S&S tea-yum! We started off with their corn dip then I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had the Rebellious burger. Both were AMAZING. We were seated, ordered, and got our food in a matter of twenty minutes- exceptional service! Also, if you have never been to their weekend brunch, you must. My new favorite brunch spot in the rim. The hosts at the front were cool and patient despite how crazy busy the restaurant was on the sunday morning we went. I'll start by saying the service was great! We got in quick, got seated and our waitress was great. Enjoyed the atmosphere although it was extremely loud. I had to really speak up for my wife across the table to hear me. It made it a bit frustrating to communicate with the waitress as well. I'll start with my draft dosxx, it was borderline warm. Not a good start to a meal especially when it's hot outside and you're looking forward to a cold beer. We didn't order an app. -I ordered the hotdogs (I know what you're thinking, "why did he order hotdogs"?) I saw them on yelp and they looked fabulous! They weren't terrible but they weren't the best. The "meat sauce" was the equivalent to dry taco meat (where's the sauce) and the amount of mustard doused on them was too overwhelming. The actual frank was tasty. I would not order them again. I had a side of French fries which had a lot of potential but they were so salty and had such a strong garlic flavor I could not finish them. I had a garlic taste in my mouth for the next two hours. - My wife ordered the fish of the day (sandwich) which was striped bass. The fish itself wasn't bad (extremely fishy for my taste) but overall not terrible. The coleslaw however was awful. It wasn't crisp, it was just mushy and caked in sauce which made the bun fall apart. She was only able to eat the fish. She had a side salad which was decent. She also ordered the agave sangria but she didn't like it (to each their own so that had no bearing on my overall score). I think this restaurant has a lot of potential. AMAZING!! My boyfriend and I ate at Mash'D for the first time last night and were very impressed. We started with The Crab & Shrimp Volcano, it was full of flavor. The Tacos were delicious and Chicken Parmesan was tender and juicy, lots of food. We ordered flights of moonshine and we were able to try a variety of the flavors they have on their menu. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. The manager stopped by our table to check in on us. LOVE! this place and we are definitely going back soon, probably to try their brunch. read more

Much better the 2nd time we swung by. Zookeeper was very friendly, even though the place was packed like lion exhibit at feeding time. Queso and chips were good, but the pretzel upgrade was better. Not my style of food too fancy. The Cheese Burger (that's what it's called on the menu) I had was good. In comparing the burger to a Quarter Pounder at McDonald's, the Cheese Burger was tastier, but at 3-4 times the price. Much better than any burger from Outback, at about the same price!!! First time I was dragged in with a troop from work and was not impressed by the service or the food. After today, I would return if a troop I was with wanted to go again. Ordered the short rib stroganoff and meatloaf. Both were good but for some reason neither the meatloaf or the mashed potatoes it was served with was hot. Wasn't really warm either. It was good, but at least serving it warm would have been good. Probably should have sent it back, but as I said it was good. Short rib was good...no issues. Ordered three different drinks. They were good but a tad on the sweet side.. Overall good but the lack of heat on the meatloaf distracted from the overall quality. read more

I went to brunch with some peers. Cool interior but the table assigned to us didn't accommodate our party of six. The Manager apologized and moved us to the patio area and sent free appetizers later which was unexpected and nice. The appetizers, mimosas, and moonshine was delicious and reasonably priced. So why the two stars? My entree was a big pile of sloppy salty mess. I ordered the chicken and biscuits with the Chuck Norris gravy. I've never tasted anything so salty and foul. The gravy is simply not good and neither was the chicken and fake eggs. I took maybe 4 or 5 bites. It's a cool spot for happy hour and appetizers but pretty sure won't be visiting again. read more

Very clean restaurant and bar. Super comfortable with friendly staff. They hand pick their avocados so make sure you try the guac. They carry a whiskey called stillhouse which is to die for if you're into whiskey. Their wings are made from cage free chickens so there is hardly any fat on the bone. I waited a solid 15 minutes for a chair. Never got one. I had to ask for one. Didn't want moonshine so I ordered a drink with tequila. They were out of tequila. What?! Not many food choices. We tried Mash'd for the first time for brunch and all I can say is wow! I had the chicken and waffles which the portion was huge. My favorite part of it was the Chuck Norris gravy I wish I could get a bowl of that stuff for home. My wife had the fresh toast sandwich, which may sound odd but it was very good. I normally eat plant based diet, and it is challenging eating out with others who eat the SAD. I choose this place because they have salads that actually are made of vegetables, not just iceberg lettuce with meats and cheese. In our party of 4 we all loved the friendliness, service and food. However, the music was too loud for us (mid 50's + 70) to talk. Mealwise. 2 had fried chicken, 1 had Turkey sandwhich and I had the Avacodo Bomb (easy to veganize). My only suggestion would be to add an option of peas and/or beans to salads so vegans can have their protein needs addressed in the meal. Our first experience as Mash'D was AMAZING! We ordered: wings, queso, hot dogs, burgers, salads, & turkey burger were all 11/10!!!! Giselle was our waitress, she was great and allowed us to try some of their drink specialities and they were also awesome. The turkey burger was topped with ripe avocado and was the best one I have had yet in San Antonio. Also, the Hot Dog Chili dish was awesome!! It had chili, mustard, and onions, I throughly enjoyed. My friend recommended going to Mash'd for Saturday brunch, and I'm so glad we did!! Sat at the bar and all the bartenders were awesome - so friendly, attentive and even gave us samples to try. What a horrible experience, arrived sat at the bar. Had to remove previous guests trash. Ordered drinks and a cheeseburger. Another guest arrived awhile later and ordered drinks and a cheeseburger. 30 minutes pass and the new guest gets his food. The inattentive bartender ask if I wanted a second drink. I told him yes and to check on my food. 20 minutes later my food arrived. I waited several minutes before helping myself to silverware and napkins from another table. Zero concern or apologies from anyone as to why we were forgotten, especially sitting in front of our server. this was our first time visiting Mash'D very cool concept my daughter and i shared the cheeseburger and fries great flavor the fries are the shoestring fries which are my favorite .. we also had their cheese dip very interesting they and their own beer to it which you could taste it was different flavor wise but not bad just different.. will be coming back for a next visit to try something new... read more

I'm putting two stars because the food was decent. I Had a reservation and they were still unable to accommodate our group. They ended up sitting us outside at a high top table with uncomfortable chairs and with the sun in our faces. We asked if we could move to another table with more shade and was told that due to social distancing we would have to wait but they aren't concerned with social distancing at the bar. We asked our waiter if we could move in a way that would comply with social distancing and he assured us our seating was better as we we were sunburning, standing and sweating. Our waiter ended up getting one of our orders wrong and took forever to bring refreshments out. Likely not to go back or recommend this place. read more
