First time to this restaurant. The Crushed Devil appetizer was outstanding. Not what we expected and absolutely delicious. We had the Pho-Kin Soup for our main meal and it was the best soup ever!! Just enough spice and the broth was seasoned to perfection. Our waiter, Miles, was fantastic and helpful with our menu selections. Still waiting to be impressed. Heck, still waiting to be satisfied... I don't know if the food and service I received is what the brand and kitchen envisioned, or if I've only visited on "bad" days. After my third visit, I thought I'd post a review. Visited on a Saturday with a friend who likes eating here. Went during brunch hours. The wait was quoted as 30-45 minutes. We waited and were seated in less than 10 minutes. Had my friend not wanted to go here specifically, I would have looked for somewhere else to eat with the original 30+ minute quoted wait time. Accuracy matters, but the seating staff maybe didn't care. They certainly didn't care enough to smile or seem glad that we were there. Menu is limited, but that is to be expected in this type of restaurant. As a die hard hollandaise gal, I decided on Benny's Skillet- "hot cast iron skillet layered w/ creamed spinach, double cheddar biscuits, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce... our spin on eggs benedict" It came out as described. Presentation was lacking. No color other than egg and hollandaise. One of the poached eggs arrived already broken, and for whatever reason, the eggs had a "tail" on them from the poaching and the kitchen chose to leave the "tails" stretched out away from the yolk. They looked like, um... "tadpoles". Was this intentional? Who knows. It wasn't appetizing to me. Hollandaise was good but got too thick because of the heat of the skillet. The biscuits were thick, dense and gooey, like they needed more cooking time. Not a great texture, plus the bottoms burned and stuck to the skillet. Additionally, there was no spinach that I saw. The potatoes served with it were par-cooked and poorly kept warm. Upon arrival they were lukewarm, greasy, and chewy in a bad way. My friend's egg lasagna looked like lasagna but not an attractive color. Again, presentation was lacking. I get it. They have moonshine, they are different, they aren't a chain. Too bad they either don't care about presentation and flavor, or the San Antonio location has forgotten that it matters. Either way, if my friends really want to go here, I'll pass and join them somewhere else another time. read more

Very nice place. Although crowded, it was a Friday night so that was to be expected. The food was good. The drinks were ok. The first ones that came out were good. The other ones, not so much. They had a problem with the premix they put in their drinks. The waiter was spot on though. He brought back the drinks numerous times. Not his fault. They said it was a problem with the earlier prep. A friend told us about this place so we decided to give it a try so we went and the first impression was it is very nice. The hostess greeted us and was very pleasant we explained to her this was our first time here and she was excited and said we will love the food she made several recommendations on appetizers and got us our table. We chose to sit outside the wait was shorter but they had several huge screen TVs that had the game on and we had told her we want to sit where we could see the game and she said no problem. Our waitress came her name was Colleen and was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and she made some great recommendations in which we went ahead and took her on her suggestions I ended up with the chicken and biscuits (Omg soooo great and huge!!!) the wife got the sandwich "The Chicken " it was also amazing!!! Then Davidwho is one of the managers came out to our table and I guess he had heard this was our first time and he came and checked on us. My wife and I thought that was a nice touch and it really topped the whole experience from the greeting to the food to the service was really nice. We plan to try the brunch because we heard it is good too and we will be back!!! read more

I enjoyed eating here. Got the grouper sandwich and a Caesar salad on the side. The salad was very fresh and delicious and the sandwich was to die for. It was the best grouper sandwich I've ever had; amazing bun and perfectly cooked. I will be coming back again for that sandwich and will possibly try some of the other menu items. There is a limited menu but i am sure that means everything is really good. I also had the sangria to drink, it was good as well, but i would probably try some other drink another time! read more

We ordered the chicken and biscuits (with the flavorful chuck norris sauce) and the unholy (caramelized french toast with fried chicken in the middle), both of which were mouth watering. The drinks and place are great! We came for brunch and most of our food was really good. The French press coffee was very watery and low quality. We requested a new one but it was just terrible quality coffee, and it costed $6. Overall, great place, good customer service, good food, and great cocktails, but the food and coffee are a bit overpriced. Or don't match the quality of the price. read more

We had made reservations for our group of 6 for a recent Sunday brunch and were seated right away when arriving. Which was great since there was a waiting line for those just showing up. Mimosas and Bloody Marys were very good and flowed freely!! The brunch menu is not huge, but had enough options we could all find something. First time visit the legit guac was legit af. We had the bootleg Mule super freaking good. I ordered the stir fry with shrimp and chicken. The shrimp was delicious but everything else had so much soy sauce. The manger was awesome and took the stir fry off and gave us a 10 dollar coupon for next time which was awesome. Made A reservation on open table, and still had to wait. Minus one star for the reception area and having folks without reservation sit before us. Disappointing first experience due to a bad waiter kid who had absolutely no personality whatsoever. After providing such crappy service, he had the nerve to come around at the very and try to work his tip. This restaurant is located in a small space at the Rim and is very loud and noisy, this is not a place to chill and relax if that's what you're looking for. The Chicken & Biscuit's were tasty but also pretty pricey for the size of portion they give you. Their Brunch menu also features $2 mimosa's which are served in pretty small glasses and not worth it especially in my case because they took longer to come out than my actual food order! When I questioned this, the waiter told me the bar was backlogged and offered no apology... really? I'm not sure how long this place has been open at this location but they definitely have a few service issues to work through. I was not a fan of this place and don't plan to go back anytime soon.Thank goodness there are a lot of other dining options around The Rim. read more

After hearing all the rave reviews from friends, I decided to go check this place out. First, service was excellent and our server, Kimberly, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I wanted to try everything on the menu! I opted for the legit guacamole and it was delicious with grilled pineapple and bacon in the mix! Yummy!! For my entree, I had the chicken and biscuits and the flavors were to die for! A hearty portion of gravy served on top of fresh chorizo biscuits with breaded and fried chicken... how could you go wrong?! My boyfriend ordered the ribs and, of course, I stole one for the sake of my review. Their moonshine BBQ sauce was amazing and the meat was literally falling off the bone. I am a beer person so, I didn't order a specialty moonshine drink, just the 512 pecan porter. My other half ordered some kind of mule and it was actually pretty tasty. I ordered a dessert (can't recall the name) but it was like a huge cake with a fruit compote in the center topped with ice cream and whipped cream and a caramel drizzle. Very confusing shtick. The crab and shrimp volcano appetizer was incredible, but the pizza did not share the same quality. I would truthfully liken the pizza to little caesars. For 19 dollars, I would recommend a different entree. The avacado salad, on the other hand, was great.
