This place never fails, 10 years of consistency is extremely rare. Ordered the Patialashahi Handi Masala Goat, Lamb Kozumbu, and chicken Korma. The goat was a new dish i hadn't tried and it was the star of the show. The korma here is exceptional. They offer curry dishes that you don't get from other places and it's done to perfection. read more

Tried Masala Bites for takeout and let me just say... I was 100% influenced by the buy-one-get-one garlic naan deal that was going on. No regrets there -- that naan understood the assignment. When I try a new Indian spot, I always go with butter chicken as my baseline. I ordered mine "medium hot" because I like spice, but I like flavor more than I like questioning my life choices while sweating through dinner. The flavor was great, portion of rice was HUGE (like... rice for days), but the spice level? Let's just say it politely waved at me from across the room. Next time, we're going full "Indian hot." My friend got the chicken tikka amritsari, which came in one of those elite takeout containers with the little compartments -- we love organization. It looked amazing: chicken, veggies, sauce, the whole situation. He ordered "Indian hot" and... same story. Delicious, but not exactly setting off the fire alarm. He enjoyed it, just wished it brought a little more heat. Only downside: dinner prices for takeout were a bit on the higher side. But overall, really good food -- we just learned that next time, when they say spicy... we need to say spicier. read more

We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We got the 'brunch' special that came with a starter and main dish for $22. I ordered mango shrimp and butter chicken and my husband ordered bhel chaat and chicken tikka. Both dishes came with naan, we got the garlic and the cheesy garlic one. The food was really good and had great flavor. Chicken was not dry and cooked nicely. The naan was sooo good and you could tell it was freshly made. The restaurant was not super busy but worth mentioning our server was very attentive either way. They had nice music playing and we liked the decor inside. Nothing over the top but simple and elegant. We will definitely be back to this place anytime we are craving some Indian food. read more

Masala Bites - Masalas Tandoori assortment with chicken, salmon, lamb and prongs - Indian Near Me - Virginia Beach, Virginia

We love this authentic, spice-forward (if you want), Indian restaurant. Even though I only visit Virginia Beach once or twice a year to visit family, we always try and fit in a trip to Masala Bites. Tonight we ate the gobhi Manchurian, fried cauliflower in a tomato based sauce, bainghan-tofu curry, lamb vindaloo, saag paneer, and naan. All delicious, all distinct, fresh flavors. We love that you can ask for a specific level of spiciness and accommodate folks who love spice or can't tolerate it. Service is exceptional. It's clean and the decor is lovely. Every visit is a treat! read more

Great food, service and atmosphere! The curries are amazing. Cant go wrong with anything on the menu.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Virginia Beach. I've been coming here for years and have never had a single disappointing experience. The food is as good as it gets and the service is always great read more

J - it's been too long since I've indulged in the spice filled enjoyment that is Indian cuisine . Like my favorite show food wars the Indians know how to do spice. I first walk in and wow the aroma and atmosphere amazed me. The service was good and the staff were kind. Food was delectable and like my favorite show it made me want to take my clothes off. Food wars goop. 2.7 C- I have never had Indian so I was worried about the rumors I have heard about it . Happy to say people have weak stomachs and should be embarrassed. Only thing to complain about restaurant was dark and that's scary. 3.5 T- It was pretty good! 3.5/5 read more

Chana masala and Biryani are very good. Samosas and fritters are great appetizers. Nice place to dine in.

Some of the best Indian cuisine I've had. Enough said. I've tried numerous items from the menu and every one was excellent!

Very quaint and lovely place to eat! The food was amazing. We all tried something different and shared, the service was immaculate! Everyone had a smile and was excited to help. Our 1 year old loved everything about it also which is a huge plus. We will certainly be back! read more

My family and I absolutely LOVE Indian food! So when on vacation in Virginia Beach we searched for a place that could satisfy our craving and Masala Bites popped up on google. Based on all of the highly recommended reviews, we decided to give them a try. Surprisingly, the restaurant was packed for it being a weekday. They had a large party too so I think that didn't really help with the wait times. We were seated right away but after that the service really went downhill. The waitress took a while to come by and get our order, after that she really didn't check in on us at all. It's really the food that saved them from getting a lower rating! My husband and I got their Pavbhaji Spiced Samosa for appetizer and their Chicken Curry with Garlic Naan for our main dish. Everything was delicious! The curry was a tad bit spicy but we did order it medium, so if you like a lot of spice then get it that way! Other than that I'm sure mild would have sufficed. Their samosas were perfectly seasoned and the filling was just the right amount. The garlic naan was the perfect pairing with their curry dish also. The only downside was that the service wasn't very good and the food took quite a while to come out. But I enjoyed the food! Hopefully they can increase their staff so customers aren't waiting for long periods of time. 3 stars for delicious Indian food! read more

If you have not ate here yet my only question is, WHY NOT??? Don't walk but run to come here! This was by far the best Indian cuisine I believe I have ever had!!! The flavors was just amazing. Left you wanting another bite before you could even finish the bite you had just taken. The naan was out of this world!! I can't really eat bread. but I had to have a slice and it was worth it!! The freshest and best tasting naan I have ever had!! The entire restaurant is absolutely beautiful and clean!! The restrooms are the cleanest restrooms I have ever been into! Very peaceful and inviting! Our server was amazing and helped us order our food based on the spice level we liked. She was very quick and we waited on nothing! I was so sad I couldn't clean my plate because if I could have ate everything I would have! We will be back here again very soon! I was shocked it wasn't busier for lunch because the food is out of this world!! Can't wait to come and try more items. The butter chicken was phenomenal!! read more

Stunningly delicious food from the Asian subcontinent. My ambition in VB is to try everything on the menu. My entre, a delicious mild curry in a coconut sauce was perfectly prepared and plaTed to go. it arrived piping hot in an elegant reusable cloth bag, with enough left over for a second meal-- a very generous serving of basmati rice over the right amount of protein and gently steamed vegetables Sir and Madame Chef I appreciate generosity and elegance in the kitchen. I'm looking forward to visiting what I've read is also a lovely dining in space. An Uber driver from Morocco first told me about this place and she did not exaggerate the quality of the food. Masala Bites sounds like a perfect place to host a dinner part for the coming holidays. Sublime. read more

All the food was amazing, it's not too crowded, the service was great. The bhaji could be less fatty. The lamb was succulent. The Raita could be a bit more for the price but everything was quite reasonable especially for dinner prices, and portions were good. The ambiance was great. Chai was a nice touch at the end. read more

Great complimentary sauce. Just YUMMM!! My entire crew was happy with their entree. We did it family style. So we were able to taste everything. It was all great!! Felt very underdressed right when I walked in! Very nice ambiance and set up. Looks hella fancy but I wasn't scolded for my sweat pants attire. Good place for a date night or casual dinner. Food was amazing! A little bit overpriced but worth the money and the dining experience. Live piano was pleasantly in the background but not too overbearing where you couldn't have conversation. Service was great. And I'm pretty sure the owners were walking around checking on everyone as well. Definitely had left overs. If you've never had the nut and dried fruit naan, it's one of my favorites any time I eat Indian. read more

Great cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant because of good service and atmosphere. The menu has variety including some classic selections. The samosas were huge and stuffed with deliciousness, the mango lassi is also tasty beverage, if you like wine you're in luck because the list is extensive compared to other restaurants nearby. Great taste but sadly small portions (compared to other places) for the price. Dinner - 2 Chana Masala's one Chicken Vindaloo and 2 breads the total was $73 (carry out with tax but before tip)! While it's convenient to my house everyone agrees it's just way overpriced :( read more

I went here because of India Fest and honestly I'm pretty impressed about the food! The vibe is also nice, with the servers showing really fast service. I had the Paneer Patia, the goat curry and garlic naan- all were super great! I thought the 3/5 spice was not too bad, with the right amount of sweat when you eat it. I think the only complaint I have is that the price is pretty high for the quantity you get. Then again they are at Red Mill so I can't complain. read more

I was craving Indian cuisine {but really, when am I not?}, so I went here for lunch with a Yelp Elite buddy to this elegant restaurant before heading to the airport to fly home to NYC. The interior is beautiful with refined colors of silver blue, white, gold, and grey. The ambiance was peaceful and inviting. I decided to go all out and ordered a drink, appetizer, as well as the lunch special. I normally get the Mango Lassi, but went for the Masala Bites Cardamom Tea, because I thought it would be authentic and special. The cardamom tea was served in a little white tea cup and a perfect, clear amber color. It was quite fragrant with true cardamom taste. For the appetizer, I chose the Chili Mili Shrimp, which wasn't what I expected it to be. The description mentioned crispy shrimp bites, and it definitely wasn't crispy shrimp. It was pan fried shrimp cooked in zesty soy masala, with green / red peppers, and scallions. The dish was satisfyingly saucy, with bold flavors and slightly spicy. The shrimp was tender and there were many of them. The peppers were nicely crunchy and plentiful as well. My friend got the samosas, so I was able to try one. They were really tasty! They were filled with Bombay-spiced potatoes, carrots, and peas. There was a good mix of each vegetable and the outer shell was delightfully crispy and light. The lunch special came with either soup of the day or salad. When I heard that it was lentil soup, I asked for that, but I wasn't happy with it. There were no actual lentils inside and it was a weird yellow color. I could only have 2 spoonfuls. I was much more pleased with the entree, which was garlic-peppercorn salmon, which was served on top of broccoli, carrots, zucchini, cauliflower, and asparagus. This also came with really yummy sauce, naan (I asked for garlic naan), and rice. The salmon was perfectly well seasoned, amazingly succulent, and flaked gracefully. The strong pepper and garlic flavor of the salmon mingled well with the savory sauce, but it didn't even need it. I also enjoyed the lovely medley of vegetables, which were cooked at just the right consistency and had a great combination of spices. The garlic naan was pretty good, with garlic pieces and green herbs on top. It was also thin, while still being fluffy. Service was solid and we were well taken care of throughout our meal. read more

The best Indian I've had in a long time. There aren't many Indian restaurants around, this one is worth checking out. Onion bhaji was a big hit with my dining partner. Samosa hit the spot (not the best I've had but solidly good). The okra dish (Amchuri Bhindi Masala ) was new for me and so tasty. I ordered it Spicy and it was perfect! Like a spicy stir fry rather than a wet curry. Great the next day too. Garlic naan buttery and fresh, Menu had several seafood options as well. We tried curry with crab for the first time also. Crab held up well but flavor was over powered (as expected) by the very creamy tomatoes curry. It was so rich and creamy. Service was attentive and warm. Atmosphere was more family to fine dining. Overall great experience. On the expensive side but we did have leftovers for 2 days! read more

I always come here for their chicken Tikki Masala, Garlic Naan and mango Lassi. I tried other things but I wasn't a fan of anything other than what I listed on top, that's why I had to take 1 star off. The goods: Chicken Tikki Masala is rich and full of flavor. You'll pick from the scale of 0-5 with the spiciness, and I always pick 3. 2 is nothing to me but 3 is a little too spicy, but that's the fun ya know? You can taste the spices and it's good pairing with rice(that comes with it) and garlic naan(charge separate). The chicken is a little tough but I cut them into smaller slices so it's not a big deal. Beware if you can't eat spicy food because even if you ask for 0 spicy (which my bf did), it will still be a little spicy. Mango Lassi is a mango flavored yogurt. It is very refreshing and thicc. It is sweet and tangy so ut is perfect to wash down all the spiciness that you just had. And the garlic naan is delicious! The garlic on top of the naan is fresh, the bread is firm and has a roasty flavor, kinda like a pizza dough. I can eat that like a snack and you can dip it into your masala or curry. The bad: So far other than masala I've tried curry and butter chicken, and that's enough for me to know not to order food other than Tikki Masala. Both the sauce of curry and butter chicken are watery and bland. My bf always get the Tikki Masala so when I ordered these other dishes I compare mines with his, and I could already see the texture looked different. The butter chicken was worst because I can see clear water when I put the sauce on my plate. A little tip is that they do lunch from Monday to Friday and the Masala and other curry dishes are cheaper and they come with rice AND naan. read more

Great meal. Today was an incredibly long day. Flew in from Florida and finally we were checked into our condo. Now the part of the day that we always worry about. What can we order for the vegan. Well here they are ready for the vegan in your party. Our waiter was attentive informative and insured that the Vegan made the right choices. The flavots of the dishes ordered were excellent. The chapati was crisp the rice was light the Dal was just the right balance of creamy spiced goodness. The first taste of the appetizers sealed the deal. Most of the photos were after we started eating COVID comment we ate in and as I mentioned the service was top notch. For the meat eaters In your group no worries the lamb was tender and the chicken was perfect so I am told by my dinner mates. We all left with dinner to go after our meal and I ordered 2 items to go which was ready when our meal was complete. We will return our next time in Virginia Beach for sure read more
