I tried to book a table for eight at 4:45 p.m. First, when I called, they told me reservations had to be done online. I went online--only to be told I needed to email. After I emailed, asking for 4:45, they flatly said only 4:00 was available. I explained that I could bring six of us first, since my kids get out of school at 4:30 just around the corner. They said no--they insist the entire party is present. To top it off, they demanded a credit card authorization and threatened a $25 per-person no-show fee. This restaurant clearly doesn't care about convenience or its customers. If your plans don't fit their exact mold, don't even bother. I've never felt so unwelcome before even stepping inside. If you're planning anything special, take it somewhere that values guests.

This is a great spot for a special occasion. The food was good as well as the drinks. The service was absolutely wonderful and it's a cozy romantic spot. However, it is on the pricy side and I don't think the taste of the food matched the cost.

Yet another excellent visit to my fav spot. This time the whole fish was black bass which is not a fav of mine but it was good. The snapper is a much better option for the whole fish. The daiquiri's are my favorite and i always recommend it.

Great restaurant. Nice Happy Hour, but short only 4pm-5:30pm Tuesday-Saturday. Plenty of parking. Open parking lot. Clean decor and very nicely decorated inside. Nice ambiance.

Heirloom never misses when it comes to flavor and presentation. I ordered the mushroom toast and crabcakes, and both were spot-on -- the mushroom toast was rich, earthy, and perfectly seasoned, while the crabcakes were full of lump crab with barely any filler (a rare find). Every bite tasted intentional, and you can tell the kitchen puts real thought into balancing flavor and texture. My wife ordered the grouper, and when I say it was massive, I mean it -- easily one of the largest, most perfectly cooked pieces of fish I've seen. Flaky, tender, and full of flavor. She couldn't stop talking about it. Service was friendly without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere was cozy but still had that refined, coastal-modern vibe that makes it great for a date night or special occasion. Highly recommend Heirloom if you want creative dishes that actually deliver. We'll definitely be back.

Before we upped and moved out of Virginia, we dined at Heirloom. I was so impressed with the food and service here that I was left with such a bittersweet feeling because my first visit would be my last. My Wife surprised me with dinner, making our reservation for early in the evening, so we could enjoy their happy hour offerings. We were seated in the sun room, adorned with ceiling fans, lush hanging plants and modern farmhouse vibes. Our server provided water and the specials before leaving us to look over the menu. We both started with salads, mine a heaping wedge salad, that was so crisp and tasty. My Wife indulged in a house salad, dressed with a beet vinaigrette, and focaccia croutons, she loved it, unexpectedly enjoying the beet flavor. For dinner she went with Scallops and micro greens with mustard seeds and I decided on the Happy Hour Burger and sidewinder fries ($12) after seeing how good it looked on the table next to us. The Food was sooooo good, and the service attentive and warm. Good ol' Southern Hospitality. We appreciated the intimate seating on the sun room with the option to order from the happy hour or regular dinner menu, as some places only offer happy hour at the bar. I would have loved to return again for happy hour as the El Diablo cocktail ($8) I had was so well made and refreshing. The happy hour menu features, the delicious burger I had, tacos, butterfly shrimp, wings, oysters, a collection of cocktails ($8), well spirits ($6), $2 off bottled/canned beer and wine by the glass ($6.) Such good food at unbeatable prices. Please do you and my FOMO a favor and go to Heirloom! Happy Hour is Tuesday-Sat 4-5:30p...HURRY. Signed, The Happy Hour Huntress

Date night! The warm and inviting ambiance of the restaurant set the perfect tone for the evening. What we ordered- Tuna Poke : Ahi was outstandingly fresh and cut to perfection for every bite along side the kimchi and pickled cucumbers. Mushroom Soup : Amazing special!!! The garnish (dried kale and mushroom) each packed a mouthful of flavor and delightful addition the creaminess of the soup. Creole Catfish: I really wanted to enjoy this dish more than I did, but I feel as though I was looking for the slightest bit flavor. Braised Duck : The flavors of the sides on this were exceptional to say the least. However, the protein was extremely gamey. Service was amazing. There was not a second we had to wait for something that was visually needed.

Complimentary Pesto was very nice of the kitchen. Server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. We ended up splitting the meal of duck - prices have increased overall but I thought the food was still fantastic. Puréed carrot isn't my favorite - I would've leaned into a different veggie personally but it did cleanse the palate. *not pictured* was the tuna poke appetizer with roasted baby kale. It was crispy & fresh! I would 100% get this again. My husband hates kale and he said he would eat this dish again! Exceptional food and drinks but one thing that did surprise me was a $2 charge to split our entree? We have traveled the world and never have we come across a separate charge for splitting a dish. It really isn't the money it's just odd... just giving everyone a heads up.

Once again heirloom literally never disappoints!! Food was amazing per usual. Their happy hour is so worth it, we had the tacos & shrimp to start... our faves!!! The shrimp is out of this world. Our waitress was so sweet & our table was great too! I did want to note, they up charge you if you change your side (for example I switched out collards for kale) and it was $2 fee to do that... just go in knowing you're going to spend a pretty penny (but WELL WORTH IT!). I did want to note as well, I wish they had more classic desserts... brownies, ice cream, shoot maybe a cookie! Nothing overly fancy but just a little sweet treat!

Wow! This place is awesome!!!! My parents too me and my husband out when we went back to VB for a visit last summer. My godparents came too - they actually let my parents in on this gem! All the food was great, and the service was too! Our bartender was very entertaining as well. We had the snapper and shared, but we still couldn't fiI can't wait to go back and try more... And since I forgot to post this review 2 years ago when I first visited, I'll add on and say it's still just as great! This time we got hors d'oeuvres on the house from the kitchen. The music choice was a little strange, but the company made up for it!

My husband picked this restaurant for date night. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. The ambience was great and the servers were attentive. For appetizers we both got the she crab soup and the warm olives. I got the dram band cocktail and my husband got an old fashion. The soup was really good. The confit tomatoes and a spiciness to them that was great! For entrees I got the pork chop and substituted my dudes for coconut rice and greens. The pork chop was cooked perfectly. I was surprised at the sweetness of the coconut rice, but I enjoyed it. My husband got the fried snapper, which he enjoyed. I tasted the snapper and it was definitely better than other restaurants in the area. Can't wait to come back for their happy hour!!!

Heirloom in Virginia Beach is a total gem! I've been wanting to try this spot for years. My friend and I grabbed seats at the bar, and from start to finish, everything was spot on. I started with a glass of cab sav (of course), which paired perfectly with our first bite of the cornbread. It came out in a little skillet, warm and buttery with just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely a must-try! For my main, I went with the crab cakes. They were served over a bed of creamy hummus, with broccolini and perfectly cooked potatoes. The flavors all worked so well together. We wrapped things up with the snickerdoodle cheesecake trifle. It SO good, and I'm not even a sweet tooth gal. The bartenders were all super friendly and made us feel right at home. Plus, the decor is adorable--modern with a cozy vibe. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Celebrated Pop's birthday out on the gardenesque patio at @heirloomvb. We were welcomed with a complimentary roasted red pepper hummus and kale--perfect for waking up the taste buds. For starters, we went all in with raw oysters topped with their seasonal watermelon mignonette, oyster rock, and butterfly shrimp. For the main course, the local ingredients stood out in every bite. The Maple Leaf Farm Duck Breast was served with a smooth carrot purée, roasted root veggies, juicy grapes, and crispy cabbage, while the succulent Sea Diver Scallops were paired with a rich hibiscus risotto, local mushrooms, and confit tomato. Service was impeccable, and we wrapped it all up with the sweet crunch of snickerdoodle cheesecake! Although it was not a complimentary desert it was worth every penny.

Great for Wine, Not for Dinner (Unfortunately) I don't know…read morewhy my Bestie and I keep doing this to ourselves -- we love Cooper's Hawk for the wine tastings, but every time we try to give dinner another chance... it ends the same way. After our tasting, we decided to sit down and order one of our longtime favorites: the short rib with mashed potatoes and vegetables. We hadn't had it in a few months because the last time was an epic fail, but we figured we'd give it another shot. As always, the pretzel bread and butter were a highlight -- that part never misses. The entrée, however, was another disappointment. The vegetables were noticeably undercooked -- still hard and crunchy -- and the dish came out with barely any sauce, even though I specifically asked for extra. For a short rib dish, you expect that rich, flavorful gravy to tie everything together... and it just wasn't there. A manager did come over after I pointed it out, and she genuinely tried to make it right, which I appreciated. We were offered another meal to take home, but at that point we were honestly just over it. To end on a positive note, I tried the Banoffee Pie for the first time (recommended by the manager), and it was actually really good -- rich, sweet, and worth trying. I also ordered their chocolate cake to go (which I usually love), but when I got home, it wasn't in the bag. I had to call for a refund, which they did handle -- but it just added to the overall frustration. At this point, it's become a pattern. When I first started coming here over a year ago, everything was consistently great. Lately, though, the dinner experience has been more miss than hit. We'll absolutely continue coming back for the wine tastings -- those are still top-tier. But for dinner? We're done trying.
