However, once they got my signature and deposit it was like pulling teeth to the get the actual project scheduled. I'm also a long distance owner, coordinating the project. So it's especially hard not being in the state. I even flew to VA to chat with them but they ghosted me. Apparently only the owner of the company, Rafael, can only schedule projects on Fridays but he's not available most Fridays to chat. Not the person you start the project with. She can't schedule projects. I really regret going with FKBD for the project. I especially regret it because I paid a premium for the labor, and decided to go with this company vs another younger, cheaper company (VA Creative Renovations - Chris is great - check them out) because I thought they would be on top of the project and get it done quickly and get it done well. Apparently not. There was a lack of follow through and communication. When I did ask for timing and submitted my tile choices with Susan, who was my project manager, she had to call over to Rafael, then he'd call me all grumpy for interrupting his day. Seems like there's a control issue. Then when the project was supposed to start there was an issue with the tile I originally chose, even though I had submitted my design choices weeks prior. They said there was a delay with the tile and they had to change the project start date. Meanwhile I'm trying to coordinate with my tenants. Luckily they are the nicest tenants anyone can ask for. All in all they did a great job on my bathroom - eventually. You just need to be really on top of them.

We found some stone that we loved, and Jorge and his folks carefully measured our kitchen, figured out how to handle some tricky spaces in the corner of our cabinets and behind the stove, cut the stone with beautiful bullnose edges, and then installed the stone so that the (kind of dramatic) veining matched in all the important places. Their work was meticulous and beautiful! Jorge communicated well. His team worked within our condominium's guidelines, arrived when they said they would, and finished on time. Jorge even saved some surplus stone to install in pantry cabinets we just ordered. I'd use Pyramid Granite again in a heartbeat. I recommend them without hesitation!

It has become the best room in our entire house, and if given the chance, I would have them redo the entire house without hesitation. Javier, in particular, was a pleasure to work with - he is incredibly patient and understanding. It took us two years to finally be able to afford finishing our basement, and throughout that time, Javier was always there to answer any questions I had. When we were ready to proceed, he still had the plans he had created two years earlier. The entire team at remodel America was fantastic. They went above and beyond by even installing lights and ceiling fans in other rooms of my house while they were working on the basement. I am extremely satisfied with the work done by remodel America and will definitely turn to them for any future home improvements. I am excited about the sunroom project that Javier designed, and I hope to have that completed soon as well.

I have perfectly installed porcelain tile and hardwood floors, repaired walls, and a new cabinet. Amazingly, they were able to match my existing hardwood with the new hardwood, and there's absolutely no difference - it's as if all of the hardwood was originally installed at the same time rather than being installed years apart from each other! The new kitchen cabinet was also selected and installed, and matches with the cabinets that were already in place. I was also impressed that they do not take any shortcuts, and quality seems to be a top priority for them. Even though my project was small compared to many large renovation or repair projects, I never once felt that I was any less important as a customer. I also appreciated that they were upfront and transparent about any issues that arose during the repairs, and they made sure to stay in contact with me and offered helpful suggestions for overcoming any repair barriers. The Zelaya team remained professional, courteous, and transparent, and completed the repairs on time and on budget. They truly are a company that is committed to customer service and ensuring that everyone is happy with the end result. I would not hesitate to hire them again the next time I am in need of repairs or renovations.

We hired Kingston to remodel an upstairs bathroom that had developed a leaking problem. The remodel…read morewas total. The room was gutted down to its beams. Plumbing had to be replaced and reconfigured to move it from the right well to the left; we wanted a bathtub to replace the ancient standing shower; it took us forever to pick a vanity; we wound up choosing hardware that required specialised installation & nothing in that bathroom had been updated for about 20 years. Austin, Moira & Carlos at Kingston guided our selections, problem-solved as issues came up, kept up a steady flow of communication & all in all, delivered a gorgeous result for a reasonable price. Moira, the Director of Operations, was especially instrumental in translating our hopes into reality. What we had when this project started was a tired, leaky, non-functional butter yellow & turquoise late 70's/earlyspace with a useless dividing wall that made the room look smaller then it is. After about 7 weeks what we had instead was a beautiful modern bath with sharply contemporary hardware, a soothing grey color scheme with gleaming porcelain tiles, annoying partial wall removed & an elegant, deep bathtub that surprisingly fit into the small amount of space we had to work with, our starkly modern design scheme *and* our budget. The construction team was good about keeping us up to date about schedule changes. They were polite & professional & took good care of our home while they worked here.
