March 5, 2016 - Jim Weiss (Contractor) Arrived (9:00 am and…read morewas gone by 9:45 am "Jim Weiss did not do the work he promised") at my home with a crew of (4) men to finish the work that he did not complete from our February 4, 2016 Contract. Jim Weiss wanted me to sign another contract (please see attached) which he wanted me to agree to pay him an additional $2,000+ for fees and materials. I told Jim Weiss " I did not understand because we both had agreed that I had already paid and that he was just finishing up, moreover, I would sign the addendum after he completed the work".. When I did not sign the attached (3) page addendum, Jim Weiss stated "I cannot do the work" - he and his crew of (4) men packed up their equipment / got in their cars and were gone. The (4) items that Jim Weiss was supposed to complete that morning where as follows: 1) install kitchen backsplash (not done). 2) install under cabinet lights (not done). 3) install electric plates over (15) receptacles (not done) 4) install electric outlet receptacle in cabinet for microwave connection (not done) February 4, 2016 - Jim Weiss (Contractor) I signed a contract JMW Construction LLC, Jim Weiss (contractor) which stated the job would be finished within 8-10 days. February 10, 2016 is around that time that I gave Jim his 2nd installment and then he was hard to find, didn't pick up the phone....As soon as I gave him the 2nd deposit. He stop showing (always missing). That's when I noticed he was not being honest. If he asked to change the payment about - don't fall for it. Only pay him 1/3rd at each phase of the work.. He didn't think it was important for him to be present when the cabinets arrived. He left holes in my ceiling and walls. When I discussed the holes he acted as if it didn't matter. Jim Weiss breached our contract and did not complete the following work in which I had already paid him to do: 1. plumbing - extend water line (which was in the contract) 2. did not put toilet & vanity back in 1/2 bathroom after installing the new flooring - Jim Weiss stated "It would cost an additional $2,100 to reinstall because it is like doing a complete bathroom remodel)", 3. did not install electric outlet in cabinet but installed an electric box for microwave connection 4. did not put electric plates on over (15) receptacles leaving exposed electricity 5. refused to put in shoe molding in the 321 square feet of new flooring 6. did not put in kitchen backsplash under cabinets (which was in the contract) 7. left holes in ceiling and walls were electric wiring was done 8. did not cover my stove, refrigerator, or dishwasher (dust everywhere) 9. left back door open and unlocked on the coldest weekend in February of 2016. Jim put in 321 sq feet of flooring (kitchen, den and 1/2 bath) but refused to do baseboards - "he stated its an additional charge". But he put the old baseboards back, which look hideous with gaps and scrapes, does'nt meet the floor and does meet the wall. Who puts in a new floor and does not include shoe molding? He put in 1/2 bath floors but refused to do baseboards. Refused to put toilet and vanity back - stated "that's like doing a whole new bathroom" and gave me a bill for $1,200 (but I've already paid for the floors - so how is that like doing a new bathroom? If you take something out -- you should put it back...daaa :( I came home from work...His workers left my backdoor wide open and unlocked (this is February 2016) very cold. They left all of the house lights on. UNEXCEPTABLE My experience in doing business with Jim Weiss has been extremely unprofessional, unethical and unpleasant.

However other renovations took 5 months to complete and the workmanship was either rushed or not completed. Subcontractors didn't use a tarp over the AC/electrical box. The deck had a birds nest on it before/after it was painted, indicating that it wasn't power washed before the paint job. We agreed to use paint that would seal the wood splinters for the deck, he used paint that made the chipping worse. I paid to have the AC unit leveled, he placed a block of wood under it versus use gravel like agreed. The tile job was uneven, so he had his subcontractors redo it using spacers. When it was addressed again that the tile job was still uneven, he realized that the tiles were not the same size and would not fix the issue. Then my bathroom door wouldn't close and the tile job lifted the carpet from the master bedroom. I paid for him to fix my roof, but did not provide me with the contact information of the roofer. After another inspector came to check the work, it was discovered that no repairs were done. When confronting him about this, he did not respond and he kept my money. I waited 5 months after the work was supposed to be completed, it was terrible workmanship, some of the work was never completed, and he kept my money.

Mike P. was an absolute pleasure to work with. I hired his company to renovate my 2 bedroom condo…read more We did floors, molding, paint, light fixtures, recessed lights and a bathroom renovation. He was honest and up front every step of the way. I got his information as a referral from my family as he had done some work for my grandmother, mom & dad and brother & sister-in-law. At no point was he EVER disrespectful to anyone in my family to include my grandmother, mother and sister-in-law. If he was, I certainly would never have called him for the work I needed done. As a matter of fact, he showed everyone in my family the utmost respect and professionalism along the way. Mike is a retired Army veteran and it is my pleasure to give him my business. One of the best things I liked most was that he gave me some ideas I hadn't thought of during the renovation. He was able to save me money along the way because he knew how to do the work more efficiently than I would have if I tackled these projects myself. I will be calling Mike to renovate my kitchen in the coming months and will continue to use Davis Contracting for all my home project needs!! I have attached some before and after pictures of some of the renovation. Thanks Mike!!

The quality of the work was terrible. he charged an exorbitant amount of money to power wash the house but left huge areas that were not clean, left gaps in the trim of a post that he replaced, and invoiced for work to replace rotten boards that was not completed. This review is long overdue, but I've been meaning to share our wonderful experience with Al, Mike…read moreand their team on the multiple projects they completed for our old, complex house. We converted two rooms plus a hallway into a master suite as well as split two large upstairs rooms into three. We had structural concerns and lots of logistics to work out and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Mike to draw up the plans to make sure everything is safe and up to code. Al oversaw the projects and was in constant communication with us and regularly was on site to make sure everything was going smoothly. If anything wasn't 100% correct or what we had discussed, he would make sure it was remedied. Big shout out to Franz who even showed up to work the day after his wife had a baby! The M3 team worked late days and on weekends (with our consent) to meet their deadlines, even when the county held them up with permitting issues they still worked hard to finish within our timeframe. We even made major changes to our plans after construction had begun and they were able to pivot and help us get more square footage for the upstairs bedrooms. There were also numerous curveballs that they handled with ease (ya never know what you'll get with an old house). This was our first time doing any sort of large project and the team at M3 gave us plenty of guidance and support to make sure the finished product exceeded our expectations. If you want something done right the first time, then I highly recommend contacting M3!! If we stay in this house then you guys won't be done with us yet! -Cristen, Phil and now +2 (!)

We used KDC to renovate our Kitchen, Master Bathroom, and fix some other issues around the house that involved tiling, plumbing, drywall, etc. We first started with KDC on the kitchen, where we had them install all new countertops, and replace our cabinets, basically a whole kitchen renovation. They handled everything and had people for plumbing, tiling, painting, electrical. Everything was handled for us with minimal involvement other than picking out materials. It was one of the easiest experiences where we picked out what we wanted in their showroom and had their project manager coming to the house to review progress on a consistent basis. With how smoothly the kitchen went, we had KDC fix our guest bathroom where things went just as smooth, and then do a whole renovation of the master bathroom. Similarly, we picked out all of the materials in their showroom and the results were amazing. The quality and craftsmanship is very detailed, with new cabinets, tiling, moving different fixtures to new locations, and installation of everything flawlessly. They even alerted us to a cheaper countertop option that still met our needs. All in all, it seems like KDC worked on half the house and did some in a timely and expert way. We've recommended them to friends and happy to do so for others. It was refreshing trusting someone to do a great job with minimal supervision and we're thrilled with the results.

While awaiting closing on our new house we worked with Melissa and the team at SR to determine that…read morethe changes we wanted to make (close up an open living room with French doors to create a study and take down a pony wall separating the kitchen and family rooms) were possible and they could meet us at the house right after closing to give us a proper estimate. They committed to starting the project right away so that the work would be done before we moved in several days later. As promised, once closing day came an estimator for SR was at the house within an hour of me receiving the keys and was able to take specific measurements and pictures. A couple of hours later we had a detailed quote and agreed to move forward. They said they would be there 7am the next morning. Little did I know they would show up with a small Army to make good on their promise to have the work done before we moved in. The team moved quickly and efficiently. I exchanged numbers with the foreman so that they could easily text any questions. The team was very professional - worked diligently and most importantly they took the time to explain what they were doing and gave me options and recommendations for solutions to challenges that arose. The team consisted of many specialized skills that were brought in when needed. They did an excellent job coordinating who was needed when and made sure no time was wasted. Trim specialists were brought in to tie into the existing trim in the former living room and a hardwood flooring specialist was brought in to tie into the existing floors for where the pony wall once stood. It seemed like everyone on the team enjoyed working there and with each other and they all had direct access to the owner Sam to keep him up to speed and make sure I was happy with the work. I appreciated being able to check in with Sam a couple of times and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the solutions his team came up with. At the end of the day the team worked long days to create a much more usable house for us and meet their promise of finishing their work by the time we moved in. Their work has transformed the house for us and had made it so much more usable. As we settle in (and save up some more $$) we can't wait to have Sam and his team at SR transform other parts of the house for us!!

We have hired SR to do many things in our house - flooring, bathroom remodeling, garage dry wall…read morerepairs, etc . Their initial quote is always competitive, however, as the work makes progress, you will find many things that were not included in the original estimate. Therefore, if you're not knowledgeable enough, your final quote might end up being much higher than the initial estimate. For example: we paid almost 10K+ to remodel one room and they left one wall unfinished because they said it was not included (we thought it was). So make sure you have all the nitty gritty details written down in your estimate to avoid confusion later. Also, their work hasn't stood the test of time. We noticed many things have started to fall apart not too long after the work was completed - example : our LVP is peeling off in low traffic areas, leakage under the shower door and under sink, multiple door hinges have already broken, the floor has uneven spots despite paying extra to flatten it, etc. The work looks nice in the beginning but after a while you'll start noticing where they made compromises to make it "affordable". In terms of communication, they are pretty responsive. We haven't had major issues with Alexa, Sam, Camilo, Dan other than occasional misalignment between everyone.
