It was a sendoff worthy of mariachi music and a frozen margarita toast. Let's start with the food: fire-grilled shrimp sizzling over peppers and onions, the kind of skillet that turns heads when it hits the table. The birria tacos were rich, cheesy, and golden-seared to perfection, with a deeply savory consommé for dipping every bite a messy, magnificent win. The combo plates brought it all together: classic rice and beans, fresh pico, guac, sour cream, and cheese so generous it should've paid rent. The place is full of charm, too. Walking through the doors is like stepping into a vibrant fiesta bright papel picado overhead, carved wooden benches, tiled floors that feel like abuela's house, and cheerful service that made us feel like family. I especially loved the colorful little photo-op corner by the entrance perfect for capturing the last California memory before heading east. It's not fancy. It's real. The kind of restaurant where flavors speak louder than trends, and you leave with a full belly and a bigger smile. Whether you're rolling through Chico or you're lucky enough to call it home, La Fiesta deserves a spot on your regular rotation. And if you're heading out of town like I was, this is the kind of farewell feast that sticks with you right next to the taste of lime and roasted onion. #LaFiestaChico #BirriaTacos #SizzlingShrimp #ChicoEats #ItsTheLittleThings #ThePuddingCreekTrestle #FoodieFuel #GuacAndRoll #TacoJoy #FlavorTrip

Our servers, Camila, Mirtha, and Diego, provided amazing customer service. They checked on our table multiple times and made sure everything was going well. She seemed bothered taking our order because we were a party of 10. Other than that, everything else was excellent.

During the ordering process, the gentleman behind the counter either misheard or didn't understand my meal requests (which happens, as they were fairly busy with lunch traffic). My food was assembled quickly and served smokin' hot, but, unfortunately, not correctly. Thankfully I don't have any particular food allergies and the meal itself was more than tolerable, so live and learn (on my part). I'll be returning to AZTLAN, eventually.

The pork chile verde burrito and carnitas burrito were big, tightly wrapped, and packed with flavor--the pork was juicy, the tortilla chips are made in-house, and even the foil wrap held up perfectly. The chips with their green and red salsas caseras were excellent, and the jamaica agua fresca was refreshing. The space is large with plenty of parking, colorful murals outside, and on weekends you can see the wood-fired spit grilling chicken and other meats al carbón. Friendly service, fresh flavors, and an authentic vibe--this place truly impressed us and is worth the stop.

Also, I dont give 5 stars easily and this was easily a 5 star Tacos: my buddy got the tacos cause he said he wasnt that hungry. Tbf, still looks good, idk his opinions on it Super burrito: so no wet burritos on the menu, you have to pay 3$ extra to make a burrito of your choice to be wet. All I said was I want a wet burrito and guy gave me a super burrito and made it wet. Taste wise it was delicious, can't really mess up a burrito. The sauce surrounding it was pretty darn good too. It was kinda tough to eat it though, with a knife and fork. Surprisingly didnt spill too much and fork could pick up the residue pretty well. I had to slice it and then cut that slice in half just to fit it in my mouth. I still prefer dry burrito over wet though and would get dry next time but even with the added 3$, it was still very worth. Chips and salsa: how could I forget about the chips and salsa. Mexican restaurants love their free chips and salsa and this is no exception. They not only have a salsa bar with many different sauces, but they also got a fat metal box with tons of chips for you to scoop yourself, it was amazing. Not only that but they got lids for the sauces and take out bags on the counter if you didnt finish them either. Extra Wish I took pic of menu but I was with friend 5/5 would go again

Seriously their food competes with the best in the Mission in SF, for the entire ten years I've lived here it's held strong. Very disappointed with Gordo Burrito. I've been going here for about 5 years, and after being a…read moreregular customer for that long, this experience was extremely disappointing. They messed up my order twice. The first burrito was wrong, but they fixed it, so I gave them another chance. Then they specifically asked me if I wanted no rice, and I clearly said yes. They still put rice in the second burrito. I called to explain what happened, and they refused to remake it or make it right. To make the experience even worse, I heard one of the employees cussing under his breath. If you have something to say to a customer, say it directly instead of mumbling and cussing under your breath. It came across as extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I've also noticed that the burritos seem to have gotten smaller lately, which is frustrating when the prices haven't gotten smaller. Mistakes happen, but asking a customer exactly how they want their food and then ignoring the request is unacceptable. Refusing to fix the mistake afterward made the situation even worse. After 5 years of being a customer, I expected better. Because they refused to resolve the issue, I will be disputing the applicable charge with my card company. After this experience, I won't be ordering from here again.
