Mas Amor guacamole
TK N.

We loved the decor! So festive and fun! The service was great as well. We ordered the Mas Amor Guacamole and chips which were absolutely delicious. We all ordered the Mas Amor tacos- the asada, the pastor, and the carnitas. The homemade tortillas were some of our absolute favorite that we have tasted.

Food!

I love, love, love the interior of this little restaurant!!! They definitely got the vibe right :) In the mood for a quick snack, I stopped in and ordered chips and bean dip and a taco. I also wanted a beer but was told they didn't have their liquor license yet, bummer! I know it's a bit difficult to get one as a new biz in this area but beer just goes so good with Mexican food. (BTW, it's a walk up and order counter not like a standard restaurant where you sit and they take your order. You order then seat yourself). I found a place to sit and as soon as I sat down the cashier came over and asked if I wanted water then also dropped off hot salsa with my water. Very nice! The chips were fresh, the beans were filling but bland, could have used a bit more flavor. The taco was a 5.5 on a scale from 1-10, no frills, just a basic taco with a little juj. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst definitely somewhere in the middle. I'd go back for the interior, to take some pix for the gram though! It's THAT cute inside, lol.

Food was great. Highly recommend the tacos dorados. They're 6 of them and I got chicken and asada. Loved the chicken over the asada! The chicken was greatly seasoned! The service was quick and friendly. We came in a Thursday so it was pretty slow but perfect for a group of two. I tried the quesabirria tacos- I'm from LA so it lacked a lot of flavor for me personally.

A-MAZING burritos! I used to live in Southern California where there's great Mexican food everywhere but now I'm living in Florida where there's no authentic Mexican food to be found. I had the Mas Amor Burrito with chicken (not pictured) and it almost made me cry tears of joy! I wanted to sing on the top of a mountain with my burrito! It was THAT good. I can't wait to go back!

We got the burritos, don't remember the name cause I'm white but man were they good. About 13-14$ per burrito but they were big and good. Total came out to $29 cash or $31 card. Not the cheapest but definitely not the most expensive. Everyone was nice and helpful, scenery was a good sight too!

I tried their carne asada regular burrito and I loved it! It was very tasty and I think it was the best burrito I've had in Chico! Customer service was perfect and I will definitely stop by again!

It was a sendoff worthy of mariachi music and a frozen margarita toast. Let's start with the food: fire-grilled shrimp sizzling over peppers and onions, the kind of skillet that turns heads when it hits the table. The birria tacos were rich, cheesy, and golden-seared to perfection, with a deeply savory consommé for dipping every bite a messy, magnificent win. The combo plates brought it all together: classic rice and beans, fresh pico, guac, sour cream, and cheese so generous it should've paid rent. The place is full of charm, too. Walking through the doors is like stepping into a vibrant fiesta bright papel picado overhead, carved wooden benches, tiled floors that feel like abuela's house, and cheerful service that made us feel like family. I especially loved the colorful little photo-op corner by the entrance perfect for capturing the last California memory before heading east. It's not fancy. It's real. The kind of restaurant where flavors speak louder than trends, and you leave with a full belly and a bigger smile. Whether you're rolling through Chico or you're lucky enough to call it home, La Fiesta deserves a spot on your regular rotation. And if you're heading out of town like I was, this is the kind of farewell feast that sticks with you right next to the taste of lime and roasted onion. #LaFiestaChico #BirriaTacos #SizzlingShrimp #ChicoEats #ItsTheLittleThings #ThePuddingCreekTrestle #FoodieFuel #GuacAndRoll #TacoJoy #FlavorTrip

We found it by accident and were impressed by the menu, but the food was just not good. We ordered the shrimp ceviche plate ($19.99), chile relleno/chicken enchilada plate ($18.50), and fish ceviche tostada ($7.50). The ceviche was basically a pico de gallo, lacked flavor and salt/spice, and the shrimp appeared and tasted to have been canned- tiny and scarce- really couldn't tell there were any shrimp at all. Didn't realize it would be so watery, so if you choose to try the ceviche tostada, you might wanna get to the tostada shell before it gets soggy. The enchilada sauce lacked flavor and the cheese was grainy and mushy; the chile relleno- the chile was soggy, flavorless, and not at all firm, and the cheese quickly seized up like a thick glue and was also flavorless. They have a chips and salsa bar where you serve yourself. Unfortunately, the chips had no salt; the salsa options were decently flavored. The jalapenos had flavor. Customers pay when they order at the counter and I was charged a $.75 "No Cash Fee" for using my credit card (probably standard, yeah?). Like most places these days, the lowest tip option is 15%, which I selected to give the benefit of doubt. Lastly, I had to wipe the bench before sitting, and the chair back was sticky when I pulled it out to sit down. This was probably the worst almost-$60 I've ever spent on food that looked so promising. And as I said, I really don't enjoy giving poor reviews, but maybe this will help someone make a decision.
