I've been ordering Aca Taco for years. Ordered two burritos tonight and they were two of the worst burritos I've had in years, even compared to similar burritos from the Midwest/East coast. There was so little flavor I had to smother it in hot sauce, the chicken was shredded (which it hasn't been) and flavorless, plus there was about a cans worth of beans in it. A while back I stopped ordering from Aca Taco because the quesadillas had started using pre-shredded cheese that didn't melt and tasted like saw dust, but I thought I'd give it another chance tonight. Seems like Aca Taco is going the way of Smokin' Moe's. This was the last time I will purchase from Aca Taco. There are many, far better options for such food in town for similar prices than to spend it on dry-ass burritos at Aca Taco. read more

I came here with a bit of nostalgia in mind. I used I get a burrito here every once in a while and had a recollection of their carne asada being good. And I think it might be, if they only put enough in the burrito to taste it. But my burrito was 85% rice. For fourteen bucks (okay that's after tax). I'm visiting from the city, and when I come back to Chico and get sticker shock, i'm dumbfounded. Of you're charging a base price of $12.65, then charging more for cheese, you should really put some friggin meat on the damned thing. Greedy, not worth it. There's much, much better in Chico. This is my go-to burrito place. I love the carne asada and I gladly pay extra for the sour cream and cheese. They're technically cash only but you can now order online with your card. They definitely prefer cash though and only accept cash at the register. They're a great to-go place, or a very casual self-service dine-in. VEGAN ACA BOWL IS FIRE. Had to come and drop the review real quick for all my vegan homies. I didnt know aca had vegan options. The aca bowl is your standard burrito bowl (rice,beans,lettuce, tomato,salsa) and comes with sautéed veggies (potato,zuchini,carrot) kind of like a caldo de res situation for my mexican/latino homies. I have been coming here on & off for about 6 years (and I have found other places that I will go to and abandon Aca Taco in the meantime), BUT I think they truly have the best burritos in Chico. They also have been the most consistently good/don't mess up orders which is big for me. ONLY downside is they only accept cash, which I don't carry often. So i wasn't sure what would be serving both breakfast and lunch because I just couldn't decide. Come to find out this place does both! And who doesn't want a massive burrito at 10am? Upon walking in I felt like the branding of the restuarant was pretty up to date and appealing. It was my first time & I almost grabbed a T-Shirt to purchase because they weren't just your generic restaurant shirts, I could actually see myself rockin' one. I ordered the Pollo Asado Burrito. I was asked if I would like to add Cheese, Sour Cream or Guac, my response was all three! My girlfriend ordered a Chicken Quesadilla, both of which were delicious. Ordered 2 Al Pastor burritos. Was made quick, and to order. And it tasted great. But these giant burritos had virtually no Al Pastor meat on it. Maybe a grand total of 7 or 8 dices pieces of meat. For how much it costs, I expect to actually get some meat in my burrito. Skip this place and go to any of the taco trucks around town for a more fulfilling and cheaper meal. Also, they only take cash, and use this really sketchy ass ATM receipt printing card reader that charges an extra $1.50. Basically just a scam for them to get an extra buck and a half on every card purchase. read more

Fresh guac and sour cream--mmmm. I also wanted just a small taco and ordered a mini carne asada taco. This meat was soooo fresh and the salsa was great with the onions.
