My favorite Mexican spot in Chico! There's a large menu and the prices are good for the portion. There's a huge salsa bar which I LOVE, and it even has corn salad and radishes and grilled onion. You can tell the quality of the meat is good here, and the service is good as well. My go to order is the California Fries, but I've also tried to birria tacos which were also delicious. Im not sure what happened to this place. It's completely gone down hill. I ordered enchiladas on door dash for pick up and they were cold, doughy and the sauce was super sweet and didn't taste good. My bf got a burrito and there was pineapple slices in it. Very odd pairing but ok. Wish they would specify if they were putting back of the pantry ingredients in their food so i could request it out. $35 on bad food. Should have gone to Taco Bell. Went here for the weekly business lunch with the chaps. The place is very nice and has a great ambiance. You order your food at the counter and they deliver to your table. Comes with free chips and salsa for the table. The chips were alright, id rate them a 6/10. The main dish i got was the two crispy tacos supreme plate. The tacos were actually amazing. the presentation and the colors on the plate were immaculate. The taste was even more immaculate. They were crispy and flavorful with the additional sautéed onions on the side. The rice and beans were alright, what u usually expect to get when u order a side of rice and beans. Enchiladas plate was great, this is why I love mexican food, its cheap and fills you up. I was already full from just the 2 enchiladas and I still had beans, rice, salad, and chips to eat! The plate was hot which kept the rice and beans warm while I was full. In terms of quality, enchiladas were alright, its what you would expect, tortilla wrapped around some meat. It needed more sauce. Rice and beans were also as you'd expect, but I still loved it, cant beat the combo ha ha. This isnt in order but the smell when the plate came in was great, I could really smell the cheese SAUCE BAR WAS AMAZING!! As I go to more mexican restaurants, I'm pretty sure chips are unlimited and so this sauce bar could be taken full advantage of! I experimented with so many sauces, I think people got tired of seeing me get up all the time. I highly recommend the mango one, tastes great. Also be aware, the labels arent always in the right place, I think the mango label was over the corn one for some reason. Great taco spot! Mom hadn't been out in a long while and loved the asada crispy taco and the regular salsa. Birria was okay could have used some more flavor but overall was tasty! Love the mango salsa that is on point and can be spicy but so good!!! Tried the enchilada taco plate with rice and beans and it was yummy. Good flavor all the way around and enough for a meal. The crispy tacos are juicy, I think they grill the shell with cheese, then stuff with the meat (the chicken and asada were both good) lots of lettuce, chopped tomatoes and queso fresco. There's sweet grilled onions on the side and the rice and beans were solid. We did takeout (COVID) and the meals came with chips and three salsas, which were tasty, but not real spicy. I called in an order to go last night for dinner. I asked for a California Burrito w/ Chorizo & a Carnitas Chimichanga (A La Carte) w/ no beans. I have never eaten here before but I have always been within walking distance. I love how lit up the place is at night when you walk by. It definitely stands out amongst the rest of the block. Needless to say the food was prepared quickly and I enjoyed a delicious dinner. The menu they offer looks absolutely amazing. I will have to return to try the rest of the menu sometime soon.
