Fresh water eel nigiri sushi and salmon skin handroll
    Doug B.

Maru Sushi is located in a large strip mall and has lots of available parking spaces. We went on a Tuesday evening and were able to park right in front of the entrance. It was kind of slow and there were only three or four tables occupied including ours. I would say this is more of a basic sushi restaurant as they don't have a lot of what I would call premium items that my normal sushi place does. We had various nigiri, hand rolls, a few cut rolls, and some shrimp tempura. Everything was good and none of the fish was fishy at all. The carpaccio plate went a little overboard on the toppings. Our server was great and I think one of the owners was also keeping an eye on everything. Our orders came out at an ok pace. The preparation area is a little on the smaller side there were only two sushi chefs. If the restaurant was busy, I would suspect things might get a little slow but maybe they have more chefs on the weekend. I would eat here again when in the area, but I will stick to my number one place.

Maru sushi strikes again with a terrific all you can eat sushi experience! This place has been a go to of mine for years and for good reason. The quality of the sushi is great. You want rolls? You got it. You want nigiri? Say less! My favorite was the salmon nigiri and baked rolls but everything was fantastic! Service was also really good. Servers were attentive and never missed a beat. Food came out in a timely manner as well. Plenty of parking outside as it is located in a large strip mall. Restaurant was nice and clean. Would definitely keep coming back!

This place is a gem and a must try the next time you're in the mood for sushi in Westminister! The sushi and tonkatsu were amazing and paired so well with the ice cold glass of Kirin. The prices are so reasonable and if you are really hungry, they even have an all you can eat option. My family and I will definitely be coming back again soon!

Best sushi in CA. There is no beating this place. I've been coming here for 10+ years. I've tried others in the area and none compare. I now live in murrietta and have tried sushi out there. Nothing compares, when I come back this way for dinner this is always a treat. Only place that was remotely as good was Kiki's back in the late 90's but they've been gone for almost 2 decades. The OG locals know. This is the best sushi in CA that won't cost you a mortgage payment. I stand by that!

We've come here a bunch of times and food is always great. The miso soup can be salty from time to time but the sashimi and rolls are always taste fresh and delicious. Service was quick. Didn't have to wait long after placing the order. Clean and has music playing in the background, not overly loud. We just ordered a couple items since it was 50% dine in/ to-go.

My friend and I decided to try this place out for lunch since we were short on time. We are glad we made the visit. The place is spacious and clean. We did 3 rounds of food. This place will charge you if you leave any extra rice on your plate, so we were careful on how much we ordered. They brought our food out pretty quickly. We ordered heavy during the first 2 rounds and less on the 3rd round. We had some sushi as well as some no rice options and sake. My fave were the mackerel, salmon skin salad, baked crawfish, tamago, shrimp boat and TNT. I didn't like the summer roll, albacore onion, and yellowtail. If I ever come in a big group, we would do the other options that come with more pieces. Overall, we enjoyed this place very much. Free parking is plentiful in their lot.

This sushi spot is top notch. It's located off of Goldenwest and McFadden in the same shopping center as Starbucks and Grocery Outlet. They have a great deal on to go orders which gives 20-50% off on all rolls. My order is: Dragon roll, Jalapeño roll, Baked salmon roll, and the Spicy tuna tempora roll. The total bill is less than $50 when ordered to go. The sushi is fresh, and I have eaten there at least 10 times and always have a good experience. I highly recommend this place for high quality sushi that is priced fairly. They also have an all you can eat dining experience that is of great value! The sushi comes in 4 pieces as ordered so that you don't get too full off of the first few rolls ordered.

service is good enough, food is good enough. it is not the best, but it is still yummy overall. the water eel skin has some kinda scales on it so i was disappointed about that one. (cuz i love eel)

The second visit was just as enjoyable, so much that we decided to visit on Sunday to check out their all you can eat brunch. The selections were amazing with a few exceptions. Some standouts were the ube pancakes, matcha French toast, Toro tartare toast, and garlic scallop fried rice. Some items on the menu left more to the imagination such as the spicy tuna crispy rice, which had no distinct flavor, and the fried oysters. Outside of those selections, the brunch options were amazing and worth the cost. Shout out to Ryan and Koda for the hospitality, and the bartenders that served us during happy hour. I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants over the years, and this place easily ranks in my Top 3. Every piece was exceptionally fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. I have to admit, I'm usually not a fan of tuna. But the moment I tasted the tuna here, I thought, "Have I been eating fake tuna all my life?" It was that good--clean, rich, buttery, and unlike anything I've had before. Another pleasant surprise was the California roll. I've eaten countless California rolls, but this was the first time I had one made with real crab instead of imitation crab. The difference was incredible, and I was genuinely impressed. The restaurant itself is stunning. The interior design is elegant and thoughtfully done. What I initially thought was wallpaper turned out to be artwork by a renowned art director, which made me appreciate the space even more. And the fish-shaped light fixtures hanging from the ceiling are absolutely beautiful. Finding a truly outstanding sushi restaurant that I can keep coming back to is rare, and I'm so happy I found this place. This is the kind of sushi spot that turns first-time visitors into regulars.
