We had a very good experience here. We came a few minutes after they opened on a Saturday and sat down right away which was good since it started to get busy as we were there. The servers were very nice and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is nice a bit on the darker side with plenty of tables in different sections.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was delicious and fresh and came out fairly quickly. The all you can eat aspect is really fun especially for the price. We definitely got our moneys worth. Definitely will be back in the future!

Honestly so disappointing. My family and I have frequented this restaurant so many times and this time we truly had the worst experience here. The owner was so rude. My mom simply asked if there was a way to take home leftovers if we couldn't finish the food. the owner came to the table and laughed at us saying they would charge us for every piece left over. She then proceeded to tell us that we had a lot of food on our plates and that she was going to charge us even though we hadn't even finished eating. I asked the owner if we could get some napkins and she proceeded to give us one napkin for the whole table to share because she thought we were going to hide the food in it. My mom then asked her again for more napkins and every time she came around. She glanced over at our table and was counting what we had left. Our server was nice until she wasn't, towards the end I asked her for the check and I asked her if the owner wanted to come around to our table yet again to count what we had left over and she said it was fine. I asked her if we were going to get the dessert that comes with the food and she went to go ask the owner if we were allowed the ice cream, she then proceeds to walk away and serve us the tiniest portion of ice cream, she threw it at our table and walked away. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Be advised that if you eat here they will count every single piece of rice left over.

Maru Sushi is located in a large strip mall and has lots of available parking spaces. We went on a Tuesday evening and were able to park right in front of the entrance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was kind of slow and there were only three or four tables occupied including ours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would say this is more of a basic sushi restaurant as they don't have a lot of what I would call premium items that my normal sushi place does. We had various nigiri, hand rolls, a few cut rolls, and some shrimp tempura. Everything was good and none of the fish was fishy at all. The carpaccio plate went a little overboard on the toppings. Our server was great and I think one of the owners was also keeping an eye on everything. Our orders came out at an ok pace. The preparation area is a little on the smaller side there were only two sushi chefs. If the restaurant was busy, I would suspect things might get a little slow but maybe they have more chefs on the weekend. I would eat here again when in the area, but I will stick to my number one place.

Maru sushi strikes again with a terrific all you can eat sushi experience! This place has been a go to of mine for years and for good reason. The quality of the sushi is great. You want rolls? You got it. You want nigiri? Say less! My favorite was the salmon nigiri and baked rolls but everything was fantastic! Service was also really good. Servers were attentive and never missed a beat. Food came out in a timely manner as well. Plenty of parking outside as it is located in a large strip mall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant was nice and clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely keep coming back!

This place is a gem and a must try the next time you're in the mood for sushi in Westminister! The sushi and tonkatsu were amazing and paired so well with the ice cold glass of Kirin. The prices are so reasonable and if you are really hungry, they even have an all you can eat option. My family and I will definitely be coming back again soon!

We've come here a bunch of times and food is always great. The miso soup can be salty from time to time but the sashimi and rolls are always taste fresh and delicious. Service was quick. Didn't have to wait long after placing the order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and has music playing in the background, not overly loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We just ordered a couple items since it was 50% dine in/ to-go.

Best sushi in CA. There is no beating this place. I've been coming here for 10+ years. I've tried others in the area and none compare. I now live in murrietta and have tried sushi out there. Nothing compares, when I come back this way for dinner this is always a treat. Only place that was remotely as good was Kiki's back in the late 90's but they've been gone for almost 2 decades. The OG locals know. This is the best sushi in CA that won't cost you a mortgage payment. I stand by that!

My friend and I decided to try this place out for lunch since we were short on time. We are glad we made the visit. The place is spacious and clean. We did 3 rounds of food. This place will charge you if you leave any extra rice on your plate, so we were careful on how much we ordered. They brought our food out pretty quickly. We ordered heavy during the first 2 rounds and less on the 3rd round. We had some sushi as well as some no rice options and sake. My fave were the mackerel, salmon skin salad, baked crawfish, tamago, shrimp boat and TNT. I didn't like the summer roll, albacore onion, and yellowtail. If I ever come in a big group, we would do the other options that come with more pieces. Overall, we enjoyed this place very much. Free parking is plentiful in their lot.

I ended up with the Chinese herbal broth and it went nicely with the goma and ponzu dipping sauces. They have a self-serve bar for sauces, vegetables, raw seafood, and even sushi! The sushi was surprisingly good for an ayce shabu spot and there were 4-5 roll options to choose from. I love that each table has a screen to order drinks, appetizers, meats, and desserts because it made the whole dining experience run so seamlessly (especially for our large group) and we weren't left waiting for any food to come! The only downside is that the premium lunch option doesn't include wagyu, so I'll have to come back for dinner.

This sucked since when cooking the meat, you're forced to eat it with sauce or some type of dipping which I don't usually do. The price for AYCE is $37.95 which is pretty fair, it included limited special items such as sashimi, sweet shrimp, jumbo scallop, amberjack, salmon belly, and more. Although the special items were limited, having one of each is enough given the large variety on the menu. (Pro tip, come with a big group of friends so you can have the pieces from those who don't want their portion) Everything was super fresh and the presentation was beautiful. You can tell the chef puts a lot of effort into every plate. My favorite items were the salmon belly, sweet shrimp sushi, and baked green mussels. So buttery and delicious! We ended our meal with the fried banana ice cream. I thought the fried banana would be heavy after a big meal, but it didn't feel that way at all. It was yummy, creamy and refreshing. It's hard not to feel heavy after having ayce but luckily we ordered just the right amount of everything! The restaurant is small but offers a good amount of seating from tables to a sushi bar and even a small patio. The parking lot is small since it shares a parking lot with a few other businesses, but i've never had a problem finding parking here. The service was absolutely amazing and genuinely made our entire dining experience better, our server Stella and Chef Min were the best! The restaurant was empty when we got there but I really hope that changes soon because this is one of my new favorite sushi restaurants in OC!

So, this time I place a smaller amount in there, and took a photo, in case she come back saying it was not enough again. It was $53, for $47.69. She took the payment and didn't come back. I had to make sure everything was ok. I asked for the change. She brought back the change, and I tipped her. The payment was more than enough the first time, but it came back short. 2. The waitress didn't bring back the change on the second time. No matter how much the change is, always bring back the change, most of the times the customers will tips more than the change for good service. People don't tips well for dishonesty or bad service. Their menu offers a great range of premium beef, pork, chicken, seafood, and other Japanese BBQ favorites, with plenty of options to keep the table trying something different throughout the meal. Every cut we tried was flavorful, tender, and beautifully prepared, and honestly, the food itself was not the issue at all--it was amazing. Service: 0/5 We came to Himizu to celebrate our engagement with family, so unfortunately, the service we received made the experience especially disappointing. Our waiter, Ryan, served us from approximately 7 PM to 9 PM, and throughout the meal he was rarely attentive; despite the restaurant having only about five tables occupied and one runner, our grill was changed only once--and only after we asked. When we asked about our additional meat after waiting approximately 20 minutes, we were concerned because we were already working within the restaurant's 90-minute dining window. Instead of simply acknowledging the concern, Ryan appeared visibly irritated that we were asking. What happened next was especially disappointing: he brought the meat to our table roughly and shoved the plates onto the table and into my plate, causing sauces to spill onto my attire. There was absolutely no reason for that level of aggression or carelessness, especially when we were simply asking about food that had been delayed. Vibe: 2/5 This one hurts because my first experience here was completely different. I had an amazing waiter the first time, and that experience was good enough that I came back another 2-3 times and genuinely wanted to continue recommending this place. Unfortunately, this experience made me feel unwelcome and has me second-guessing whether I would bring new people here again. Pictured is what was knocked and spilled my sauce tray over me The overall experience is also worth considering when looking at the price. We spent approximately $350 for the premium menu and sake, around $87 per person, so when you're spending that much, you expect the food AND the hospitality to match. Food: amazing. Staff interaction: horrible. Price: significant. Experience: disappointing. So my question is: Would you come back to an establishment with amazing food and a beautiful experience in the past, but where the service is this poor--especially when you're paying a premium price? For me, great food can bring me through the door once, but great service is what makes me want to come back.
