Surprised as soon as I walked in here. From the parking lot you cannot really tell what this place is like. Once you walk inside though you can tell it is definitely worth coming in here. The vibe, the food, and all the servers are really good. This is a definite reason to be using Yelp bc you can see pics of the good and the inside so it shows you when it's a nice place. This one is.

A slow summer Saturday afternoon. Good crowd. Brunch, breakfast, lunch, all available. Mimosas, screw drivers, bushwackers, white russian, beer, wine, full bar available. Rush streaming from the speakers on low volume. A large party off to one side. Mixed groups all around. Boxing, lacrosse, cash cab on the TVs. Both pool tables are empty. I played a game, tables are decent, sticks straight, there's chalk of both variety. I will come back. Potato fritatta brunch special, add jalapeño, served with sour cream and a side of your choice. Staff were friendly and engaging. They have live music every Fri, karaoke every Saturday, trivia Sunday, and bingo on Wednesday. Gender neutral bathroom. Parking lot galor. Same folks who bought Marty's in 5 Pts. RIP Marty

I love the original Marty's PM club in downtown so it was no surprise I love Marty's GM in Irondale as well! The food at the original Marty's is what won me over. The food menu seems even better at this one! The onw downtown is more like a club where people come to drink mostly, but food is available. This one seems to focus on the food more, but drinks are always readily available. The bartender was extremely nice, I'm hard to please when it comes to drinks so he was able to make me his version of a cherry limeade. It was delicious! I tasted some of my friends' fries and wings. They were both beyond delicious! Their fries seem double fried which I love. The wings had a dry rub on them that was a little too spicy for me, but we will definitely try the saucy kind next time. Their house made ranch was phenomenal! We played pool afterwards and just had the best time. Hands down the most fun place you can go in Irondale!

This was my first time here and will not be my last. If you're looking for a fresh juicy well seasoned hamburger look not further. I came here ok w Friday night with my daughter and 2 Yelp friends. I had been studying the menu all day and everything sounded and looked so good. I decided to go with the Marty's burger which consisted of American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup, mayo & mustard and fries. My daughter got the kids burger with just ketchup and fries. We also ordered wings, half Buffalo and half lemon pepper. The wings were ok. They were a bit too big for my liking and I didn't know they would be breaded. My friend ordered the chicken, bacon, and ranch egg rolls and they were super good. They came with 2 dipping sauces, teriyaki and ranch. I highly prefer the teriyaki dipping sauce.

Opted to eat-in vs. grabbing take out and loved our experience! My burger was, as expected, fantastic. We ordered at the counter and our food was out pretty quick. We went during brunch and were tempted by their frozen mimosas, so that's next on the list when we come back! It definitely feels like a bar but a fun place to hang for "Sunday funday."

Marty's is the go to neighborhood spot in Irondale. Located in a shopping center, there is always plenty of parking. You order at the bar and the staff is always friendly. The music selection is always on point (very important to me) and you're surrounded by locals. Marty's Big Mick might be my favorite smash burger in Birmingham! My husband gets the wings every time we go, he says they are top tier.

Might just be the best burger in Birmingham. Never disappoints. Husband loves the wings

Always a good choice! Food never disappoints and employees are always kind. We love Marty's!

Frozen Margarita

We were in the mood for a good burger. I checked Yelp and saw one of my fellow Elites gave raving reviews about this place. I tried the Ghost Popper. Everything is cooked to order. The burger had jalapeños, goat cheese, and pepper jelly. This was a very good burger and seemed to be popular because I heard several people order it. The chicken, bacon, and ranch egg rolls were delicious as well. The frozen margaritas are good and STRONG. Overall, this is a great local spot to visit.

I wanted to love this place SO BAD!! There's an attached arcade!!…read moreAnd the staff was SO NICE and friendly and helpful and I loved the industrial, creative decor. But we'd spent the day at McWane Center and we were starving so we were there to EAT! The food looked gorgeous but it tasted very meh. The onion rings had too much breading on them, which I didn't think was possible, but here we are. The part of the breading next to the onion was mushy so that threw off the texture of the whole thing too. The burger was very much like a Whataburger. Even the lettuce smelled the same. I got The Standard and the bun of the burger was a little mushy (similar to Whataburger) and there was not much meat. For an $11 burger, I'm expecting more than a Whataburger. My middle kid likes everything on her burger and isn't picky at all and the loaded kid burger looked impressive but it was about the same as mine. Not awful, but not very good either. Very close to the same amount of meat. She's the queen of the Clean Plate Club and she only ate half. The fries were good but a somewhat too salty, the dip that came with the onion rings was excellent and we ended up using it for the fries. We had 2 adults and 3 kids and our meal was $63 before tip for 5 waters, 2 adult burgers, 2 kid burgers, a kid grilled cheese, and a basket of fries and onion rings (I thought I was ordering a "side" of fries, not realizing I actually ordered a basket and it was a lot of fries and onion rings). We don't mind spending money on good food, but the prices here don't align with what you get. No one was more disappointed than me, I've been wanting to eat here for FOREVER!!!

I have been here for lunch a couple of times now for The Work Week Lunch Deal - Standard Burger (or…read more6 wings), Side , Soda/Tea for $13.49. A really good deal! Seated immediately and ready to take your order as soon as you decide. The Standard Burger (Lettuce. tomato, onion, pickles, horsey sauce & american cheese) is really good. Fries are cooked just right. Previously I got a mix of the Fries and Onion Rings. Onion Rings are great too! I have had The Three Hander sandwich (Niman ranch corned beef, fries, tomato, jalapenos, creamy slaw, dijonaise, mozzarella on sourdough) from their original location which is great too. I should probably try other things as well but the lunch deal is hard to pass up. Since it is not too far from my office, will definitely continue to be a part of my regular lunch rotation. Only downside for me is the parking. There are limited spots on the street out front. Adjacent to the building there is a lot that is part of the apartment complex behind it but not really enough spaces for the 2 restaurants.

The location is connected to a Mexican restaurant with arcades separating the two. The atmosphere…read moreis family friendly and very upbeat. The staff was friendly and patient as I forgot my readers so a lot of questions were asked. Thank you Andreana. We had the tenderloin (which I haven't had in YEARS). I was not disappointed. We also had the southerner and it was tasty. They had a happy hour where I got a wine and husband got a frozen drink. Then round 2 I opted for the daily drink, daiquiri. Each day there is a different drink as a special. I enjoyed the music and the vibe. Would come back to this place when I'm in Birmingham again.

We were quickly greeted by the hostess and was seated in the bar area. If you'd like to watch sports, this is definitely the place for you because they probably have about 50 TVs in there. It seemed like. Lily Grace was our server and she was very attentive. We started off with the top shelf, Margarita, which was very delicious. I got the cheeseburger sliders with a side of french fries and my dinner date. Got the Louisiana platter. This is his go to dish when we come here. The cheeseburger sliders were very delicious and they were a perfect size. The restaurant was very clean and so were the bathrooms. This is my second time at this location and both times have been very good. I didn't have it this time around, but their Krispy Kreme bread pudding is delicious.

Seeing a couple appetizers being passed near...and after a couple Good People Snake Handlers, they were looking really good. The Back 40 Brewery Man was onsite giving samples. So one of my group broke with leaving quickly and ordered what I think is some of the best fried alligator I have ever eaten. So after a couple of fingers of good Scotch, we all sampled a cup of Red-Beans and Rice. Delicious I had to leave and got a couple of these signature burgers to go. I got the double bacon cheeseburger & Hangover Burger all the way this. These were both delicious

The sports bar atmosphere is a very loud environment so it is not conducive to a lot of talking but still an enjoyable experience. My wife really likes the Zydeco Salad (sweet chili-glazed fried shrimp, mixed greens, cabbage, candied pecans, jalapeños, tortilla strips, red onions, bell peppers, jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette). Pepper Jack Boudin (jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette) is almost always a part of our order. If you have never had, I recommend you give them a try. The Voodoo Shrimp & Grits (bacon-wrapped jalapeño and cream cheese stuffed-shrimp tossed in sweet chili glaze, served with cheddar grits) are an interesting take on the traditional Louisiana dish. I had never had corn mixed in with my grits before but it was a nice addition. The dish is large enough to split, especially when you add the boudin and Beignet Bites for a full meal.
