We were so looking forward to eating here. We called and asked if they were dog friendly- and they said come on by it's slow. So we brought our 3 pups who are very well behaved ( 2 of them are trained service dogs and the 3 rd is a canine good citizen) . When we arrived no one was eating there - it was empty. The manager said we could not eat there because we had pups. There was no one eating there- the place was empty when several other restaurants were hopping. We just left and couldn't believe how arrogant this person was. We would never ever eat here when there are so many pet friendly and welcoming restaurants in Key West. Don't know why everyone is hatin' on this place. We went in with a large party with no reservations and had one the best meal of our trip. Sure, it's expensive, but so are the crappy restaurants in KW. This is a classy place with a nice atmosphere and as mentioned the food was top notch. Not one person in our large and picky party had anything but good things to say about the food and our waiter (I think his name was Bailey) was first class and handled our loud and obnoxious group with no stress. Dinner was a little pricey for key west but it was a pretty good experience overall. We had the lobster medallions for our appetizer. The lobster was a little bland, coming from new england, my lobster expectations are pretty high. So skip the lobster medallions. We both had filet mignon which was cooked & seasoned to perfection. Served with mashed potatoes and asparagus, both of which were tasty. The atmosphere felt upscale and the drinks were very good. First off... Anyone who says this resturaunt is not good, must have a personal problem. We have been numerous times, they never disappoint. There food is worth every penny spent, and comes out looking like a piece of art.. We decided we loved the food and service, nothing else would do for our wedding. We had around 50 guest. Every bite of every guest food was amazing. People are still talking about it. We worked with the owner to pick out the perfect menu. He was great! The staff was spectacular, attentive, knowledgeable, and timely. Having the reception there really made our wedding, we are forever thankful to martin's and their staff. Great ambiance,classy,romantic,clean,contemporary. Came her specifically for tapas. However, we were given the regular dinner menu had to ask for one. Server with an accent not to happy about it. Got the tapas menu not very appealing. Decided to order from the regular menu. Ordered a Hot Tottie, Yes I was coming down with the flu. The server was not sure of what it was which is very very understandable. Who in their right mind drinks a hot drink in a 100 degree weather. I gladly gave her the ingredients. Appetizer wise ordered the Crab Cakes.Yummy. All crab meat. Barely any filler. Very tasty very fresh. Great sauce.Truly an appetizer. Mini crab cakes .Entree ordered the steak medium. Still no Hot Tottie. 10 min before our meal came the Hot Tottie arrived it was perfect. Our steak was dry chewy not all seasoned needed salt,pepper and a whole lot more. Where to begin? Martin's is everything a restaurant should be - excellent service, superb food, and a beautiful ambience. Reading the stellar reviews, we decided to give Martin's a try. And am I glad we did. We arrived early to have a cocktail before dinner. After we checked in we went to the bar where we enjoyed our martinis - they offer a big selection. While we weren't there for the highly praised "Happy Hour", we enjoyed those delicious drinks. By the way, we're told the Happy Hour is not to be missed. The prices and the tapas are excellent. Back to our dinner. While we were having our drinks, since we had a reservation, the host came over to a ask us if we wanted to dine inside or out while the option was available. That's a ++++ offering. Honestly, I've never had that happen before. It's perfect customer service. We chose to be seated outside in the rear courtyard at a perfect table, and, as it turns out, with a perfect server, Patricia. Another ++++. I started with the Pate of the day - perfectly delicious and smooth, and my partner had the escargot which he thoroughly enjoyed. ++++ For our entrees, we had made the choice when we made the reservation, I had the Wiener Schnitzel, and my partner had the Jager Schnitzel. The Wiener Schnitzel is the veal cutlet sautéed golden brown, served with spätzle & lingon berry marmalade. The Jager Schnitzel is the Wiener Schinitzel topped with an incredible mushroom sauce served with the spätzle. Both these entrees were outstanding ++++ We finished off the dinner with 2 Double Espressos and a slice of the Chocolate Torte. A rich flourless Chocolate truffle-like desert. Visited Martin's this past weekend on my trip to Key West. The place is situated on Duval Street and looks like a really cool lounge with LED lighting, nice lounge music and just looks happening. I ordered the Lobster bisque and lamb chops. The lobster bisque was ok but not what I expected from a steakhouse, or steak type resturant in general. I was looking for a creamier soup with a hint of sherry which it did not have. My lamb chop were cooked nicely with the perfect pink however they put raw rosemary in the middle so that if you don't look carefully, you will bite into it and it leaves a bitter tste in your mouth. With the lighting in the restaurant, i had that issue and on one of the 5 chops, I bit into the rosemary, bad taste onwards. I then made sure to look at every piece. We then shared the Banana Foster for dessert and that was amazing and would eat another one of those again. All in all an ok place but a place I would not visit again, unless I was going for atmosphere and drinks. read more

Amazing experience here for dinner on our night out on key west. We weren't sure where to go and after seeing the menu and the happy hour from 4-6 we made a mad dash into the restaurant to take advantage of their half price tapas and cocktails! The waiter and hostess were quick to seat us and told us to order quickly so we could get a deal on our meal. Amazing food. The tuna tar tar was perfect, as was the escargot, scallops florentine, shrimp skewers, caprese salad and the baked Brie. We found Martins on our first evening in Key West and were very pleased with the food. My wife and I shared the Pate of the day to start and we each had the fettuccine, my choice being the Shrimp and hers the Lobster. Everything was delicious and the service was attentive. The only complaint I can think of would be that it was a little dark at our table located in the garden, reading the menu was a challenge. Definitely a good choice for dinner in Key West. read more
