This was my first time in her salon after getting nails during the pandemic, and I got gel x custom anime nails in short almond I believe. I don't know, I just let her pick stuff and I okay it and away we go! I'm not super picky, but she was great at taking the wheel. She had a great playlist playing while doing My nails. I gave her an idea of what I wanted for my set and we worked together on the end game, but I'm a very casual person when it comes to my sets and Diana is amazing at making magic happen! I've been coming to Martial Mani for provable almost 8 yrs or so. Always loved my nails and had many compliments. I was working then and mad descent money so I got very beautiful designs. But it's been over a year because times are tough and I retired l, so my designs were plain. So I could save Money. I never complained when Diana showed up late to many appointments or canceled on me the very day and I missed her message and drove 15 of 30 minutes it takes to get there. . Had an apt or the fungus on my nail. Well she canceled on me again right before the 4th of July. She was sick not sure what she had Covid or something else. She did not know what she had or when she was available And my nails were getting pretty long. So I had no choice but to go get my nails done elsewhere. I'm not sure the gel that was used. But it apparently was unstable and different. I finally got in for my next appointment with Diana and told her they were lifting ! She was supposed to to remove the gel and redo my nails that had broken off with some nails and redo my nails. A couple of days later my thumb nail came off like no gel was applied. Came in she fixed the nail. A few days later again the nail came off. Again I drove 30 min. She prepared it. And gave me a tack nail to replace it on my trip to Florida. This had never Happened before. So I drove 4 hours total. Never a complained from me. A couple of weeks ago I went to my Florida trip and that's when I sent her a pic of my nails lifting off the back. Several nails. And my natural nails coming off as well. I was confused. But I never got a text from her back. I'm assuming she was upset. I did not know she was in big bear. I never asked though and messaged her that maybe I should stop by ! Apparently she was very upset. I have saved all the text messages. No message and she sent me a message finally. And told me that she may not have removed all of the other manicurists gel polish. She admitted that had to be the reason. No explanation the next day send my money back via Venmo and after messaged me that after thinking it through I should go elsewhere. I never asked for my money back I just wanted them to be redone properly. But instead she was angry. Sent the refund back and told me for me to go elsewhere. I should be angry. Now I am. This is what happens when you are a loyal customer that has never complained all these years and praised her for her work and recommended to many of my friends. Things happened but you fix it. No throw you longtime client out the door. I'm a retired woman on a budget. Discrimination comes in many forms. I could never recommend this person ever to anyone. She messed up and of course obviously could not admit a mistake was made and let me fix it. I was even going to pay for half and I told her this. I'm very upset angry and feel I discriminated against unjustly. read more

So in love and obsessed with my nails! The only thing I'm upset about is that I don't have a better camera to take higher quality pictures of them! I typically don't get my nails done that much because it's really hard for me to find someone who gives great manicures + doesn't force me to get acrylics/ any added design for a ridiculous amount. But! Diana is hands down amazing! She does a great job at filing and cleaning up your nails and when she paints them and starts to design them, she is so meticulous and detailed. Still in awe by how she was able to do such intricate and small designs by hand painting them. I don't think I'll ever go to anyone else to do my nails after meeting Diana and I highly recommend if you're looking for some pretty nail art! read more

I've been following Diana's nail journey via Instagram for some time now-- if you've taken a peek at any of her customer photos, it's obvious that her nail art is miles beyond the average $5 salon design add-on. She started as a face painter, which makes sense when you look at all the intricate and well-thought out patterns, cartoon characters, and caricatures she is able to recreate on 10 tiny canvases; years of practice have perfected her ability to paint on a nail without it being overly busy, while still being highly recognizable and greatly detailed. Needless to say, I was impressed with her work, and have plotted to make her nail designs my reality. I ended up not going for an complicated design, but my acrylic and gel was so immaculately applied--so smooth and even-- my nails looked almost machine made. It was jaw-dropping how perfect they were; I cannot recommend her enough. Since it's just her in the studio, if she's booked there's not much one can do, but luckily she's super responsive when you need your nail fix. Phone shy? You can text her. Convenient to the Bellflower/Anaheim area but I'd recommend the drive to see her. Just be sure to make an appointment first! read more

I am so excited to have found Diana. Her work is very professional. I had my acrylic nails removed which she soaked off very carefully. I have issues with lifting from other salons and whenever they would remove my nails, they will use another nail to run underneath and pry off. Diana told me that if someone does that you should leave that salon right away because it does more damage to your nails. I appreciated the education she gave me on proper nail care technique. I have been getting gels for several years at all of the local small shops. They were never really great and tended to chip, crack, lift within a week. I was about to throw in the towel and buy gel equipment myself but I saw someone at a local hair salon, The Mint, following my studio. I saw the had recently added a new nail professional and when I looked at her work I was AMAZED at the artwork. I could only imagine what she might do with just some gel. The fact that The Mint and Aphrodite Nails were woman owned was a bonus in my book. So I went. Diana was punctual, polite, professional and personable. I just wanted basic short gels, because I work. They lasted two whole weeks! What? I was so happy. I went back and got another set. They have been on two whole weeks and not a chip, scratch, or lift. In fact, I can't even peel these suckers off!
