I've been coming here for my past few gel-x appointments. Always loved the set I got and my experience everytime has been good. However, this last appointment I had was with the owner I believe? and it was super disappointing. My nails turned out fine no issues, just my experience was definitely not a good one and I probably won't be coming back. I came in with an appointment for 9am and nobody was there but me. I felt like I was like unwelcome or something as soon as I walked in. Everytime I asked a question or for a recommendation she answered very monotone and was giving like one word responses. I wanted a certain design done that day but because of the treatment I was getting I just went with something basic and simple so I could leave because it was definitely not a good one. I got a gel x intricate design by Vy! I had them done for my graduation photos and they came out exactly how I wanted it!! Vy was super detail oriented and did exactly what I asked for, no matter how small the details. It has been about 2 weeks since I got them done and my nails are still perfect with no chipping! The salon itself is in a small area and basically the only store in the plaza. Lots of parking there! I always enjoy coming here for my nails. For my manicure I go to Shelby. She's the best. She's pays attention to details and takes her time making your nails look fabulous and on point. For pedicure- I have had Jenny and Asia and they're both very good and very nice. Infact everyone here is so nice and friendly!!! I feel very welcomed every time I come. Subpar service from an inexperienced tech for a high price. I paid $130 before tips for this set that I brought inspiration photos to them. They only gave you 2 options, either gel X to have nail tip extension or sculpture gel with no tip extension. I was so confused when the nail tech told me that I can't get nail tip extension with sculpture gel. The thing that annoyed me the most was that the nail tech nicked my cuticles 3 times and drew some blood. I have my manicures done at so many places and nobody would try go cut my cuticles seeing how thin they are so I don't understand why the tech would try again and again after the first blood draw. Everything was going well until I accidentally got cut pretty badly on my right side toe. It was a bit disappointing because I was really looking forward to showing off my pedicure. To add on to this, my pinky toes weren't completely dry, so there were still some texture and fibers left from the towel. Lastly, my pinky toe wasn't fully painted. I get it, pinky toes are small, awkward and difficult at times... honestly, I couldn't help but feel like my feet must have been in pretty bad shape. However I need to remind myself this is a service and again you don't expect to get cut/hurt. I understand it was an accident, they happen. Sadly this was not my favorite first-time experience, and unfortunately, the staff didn't acknowledge it. However, the great price saved the day. I recently moved and wanted to find a nail place nearby that could do more intricate designs and stumbled across Secrete Nail Bar. To be clear, my nails and nail artist, Stephanie is AMAZING. However, the owner Jojo is extremely rude and it also seems that she only likes to serve a particular race of people (which I am not). I didn't pay much attention to it as she is not the one that does my nails and I really do love my nail girl, Stephanie. Unfortunately, this most recent visit will absolutely be my last due to Jojo's rudeness and lack of professionalism. Now for my most recent/LAST visit - I arrived to my appointment on time and I noticed Stephanie wasn't in her chair and Jojo was at the front counter. I greeted Jojo and asked her how is she doing and she already had a very off demeanor. She did not greet me back and immediately said she needed to clear some things up first before we began my appointment. Mind you, if this was an issue - why not speak with me over the phone instead of waiting for me to schedule around this appt and physically go over there to blindside me with what happened to be a list of accusations against me... These are the things that Jojo accused me of: 1. I was rude to her when she tried to charge me the late fee (more details below) 2. I was rude to her receptionists over the phone and at the salon 3. I was late to my appointments more than once 4. I would book basic design and then come in and ask for an intricate design 5. She also said if I want an intricate design then I shouldn't schedule an appt for 4pm or later. ALL FALSE. I'm going to take you back... When I first began coming to Secrete Nail Bar, they did not itemize their pricing for nail art (charms, chrome, 3D, cat eye, etc.) they just had rates for each tier - basic, intricate, etc. They also have terms & conditions that you must sign and agree to before receiving services (no problem there-the T&C were signed and delivered). There is a particular section that describes Arrival & Timing. The policy stated "Arrival and Timing- Please notify us if you will be running late. Appointments missed by more than 15 minutes will incur a $15 inconvenience fee. If you would need to reschedule your appointment, please each out to Secrete Nail Bar. Appointments rescheduling after our 24 hour grace period would incur a $15 rescheduling fee. If you do not show up for your appointment and do not notify us beforehand, a $40 no-show fee will be charged." Understood 100% - if you are MORE THAN 15 mins late = you will incur a $15 inconvenience fee. This is the part where Jojo & I didn't align - I had an appt for a Nail Fix at 5:15 but I misread the time and thought my appt was for 5:30pm - I received a call from the salon at 5:24 as I was a few minutes away (not sure who I spoke to exactly, but they were trying to reschedule my appt and I said well the policy mentions a 15 min grace period and I will be arriving before then and I already made arrangements to come to the salon that day (I work in LA so its not easy to make it in time to get my nails done all the time). Then, I arrived to the salon at 5:27/28. I got my nail fixed which was priced at $15 but Jojo rang me up and it came out to $30. I asked her for a breakdown to which she said she added the late fee since I was 15 mins late and I asked her exactly what time did I arrive (I am not paying an additional fee when I don't owe that amount). Jojo was insistent that 15 mins is the same as MORE THAN 15 mins which I didn't agree because you cannot tell me 15=16, additionally I wasn't even truly 15 mins late and I really didn't appreciate her attitude when I asked for clarification. She ended up taking it off and made yet another passive aggressive comment, "I wont charge you this time but I'll have to charge you next time you're late" still not admitting to her lack of understanding the very policy she was throwing around. I have not been back since and have no plans on returning due to my last encounter with Jojo. **I've added all the appt confirmations, etc below** read more
