Not sure how I feel about this place. None of the clothes appealed to me, and it was very clear the employees don't put a lot of effort into tidying the store at the end of the shift. It was pretty cluttered in aisles that are already narrow. I spent less than fifteen minutes inside the store and didn't buy anything. Hit and miss at this location .. on my most recent visit they were busy with Christmas shoppers. Racks were full, lots of Christmas decor and gift items. In the beauty area there were several tables stacked high with gift ideas (scents, lotions, soaps etc) and an employee sitting in the middle of an aisle on a stool organizing, customers had to go around her to shop or better yet skip this section of the store all together. As I got in line to pay for an item I realized I didn't have my store credit card and asked the cashier if she could look it up. Worst experience ever. I had a merchandise credit that I wanted to spend from gifts that someone gave us last year that we couldn't use. I perused the store and finally found some things that would work. I hand the cashier the credit, and because it had my husband's name and not mine, she wouldn't accept it. I showed her my id indicating the same last name and explained the situation. She got her supervisor and the store manager who both told me emphatically NO. Ok then, I will never shop in this store again and I highly recommend that anyone reading this review avoid this store. What terrible, terrible customer service. An exception should have been made when they saw it was my spouse and I provided proof of identity, even so far as to calling him and having him tell them it was ok. I'm so disappointed in this experience. I've never liked this store anyway so it's no skin off my back, but I will let everyone I know what terrible customer service they provide so they won't shop there either. BEWARE!! The service at this location has gotten so bad I don't think I will ever be able to set foot in the store again. I have been a customer here ever since it opened and up until about the last nine months it's been overall a decent experience. But you've got a new crop of management and employees at this location who are rude, nasty, unknowledgeable, unfriendly, and clearly don't care if they retain customers or not. They are terrible not just to me and my family, but plenty of other customers I've witnessed as well. I'm not going to name employee names because I appreciate their privacy, but there is a young man in glasses who goes out of his way to be snarky whether I'm making a purchase or a return. He especially was overwrought when he had to abide by the posted extended holiday return policy. Took it very personally. There is also an older blonde who apparently is from Canada. She is positively the worst I have ever encountered in all of my years shopping. How in the world she still is employed here is beyond me. Her level of knowledge is minimal at best. If she in unsure about an issue, she defaults to total witch mode first, then finally will ask a superior for help, and won't even bother thanking at the end of the transaction. Most recently she double scanned two similar, but differently priced items of mine, naturally scanned the higher ticket twice. Trying to get this resolved shortly thereafter took 3 employees and 15 minutes. She has a complete inability to calculate 30 calendar days on a return. She openly and with great hostility berated my husband for waiting until the 30th day. Explained to her that we had a family member hospitalized, not remotely her business but we incorrectly assumed she would realize it's not her place to judge if a return is made on day 1 or day 30, so long as it's timely. She didn't miss a beat, just kept up the horrible attitude about waiting so long and how lucky he was to get refunded at all, and had the audacity to mention store theft and return fraud when discussing our transaction. Listen honey, once the Marshall's policy changes from 30 days for a refund to 29, then you can yap yap yap. Until then, keep your ignorant comments to yourself and just scan my items back. She is positively the rudest person I have ever encountered at any retail store. It is this person singularly that has made it to where I will not shop at this Marshall's. Arizona Mills has a pleasant crew and Riverview isn't bad either, with a far better selection and cleaner store. Don't go to this Location!!! Terrible Mngr. Karen/Sharon ( can't remember which) I'm in my 50's, a responsible, kind semi-retired lady, I was running errands a few days ago around Noon sometime. I decided to stop and go into Marshall's ( Ray Rd) to look for some Women's socks and Athletic Tops. I'd put 4 different tops in my cart along with one pack of black socks, 2 haircare bottles & 1 pair of sandals.I went into the Dressing Room ( no Attendant at this time) I decided that the Sandals were a "NO" & the tops were not the "quality" that I was looking for ( I kept the tops on the hangers) leaving everything in my cart. I'd spent maybe 45 min there, looked at my watch and realized that I was running late. When I came out I decided that I was just going to buy the hair care & socks. So I left the cart with the items I didn't for the Attendant . The Attendant ( short hair older black lady named Sharon or Karen ) started "YELLING" at me. SHE SAID...YOU NEED TO HANG THESE ITEMS IN THE CART UP!!! YOU NEED TO BE RESPECTFUL!! All the customers were staring. I just kept walking to the front counter( I'm not a confrontational person) It was so incredibly embarrassing to be screamed at by a Store Employee in this manner!!! ( Actually..usually would but this day I was LATE to an appointment ...so I needed to hurry to the Checkout to pay for my items. I went directly to the Mngr( Sharon/Karen ..can't remember ..white lady) to complain about this Crazy/Rude Dressing Room Attendant (older black woman) also named Sharon or Karen . Marshalls has tons of great deals, but at less expensive rates compared to Nordstrom Rack. There are lots of great items to choose from, including brands like Freepeople, Calvin Klein, Guess, Express, Michael Kors, Coach, and more. I bought most of my business clothes and handbags from Marshalls. Depending on the season, there are other items, including some bathing suits during the spring/summer and jackets during the fall/winter. Other than casual, business, and athletic clothes, Marshalls carries other items, such as some kids toys, exercise equipment, notebooks and frames, decorative elements for the house, and utensils for the kitchen. There are also some tables and furnitures for outside areas. I highly recommend Marshalls. Take my word- they have really great items if you look right! read more

I went into the Ahuatukee foothills location and found a cute pair of rain boots my toddler had to have. Shortly afterwards, I heard the employee ( an older Asian woman in the the dressing area) radio security, my son had the boots. There afterwards, various employees were obviously watching and following me throughout the store. I was completely appalled! I went over to the register and voiced my concern to the cashier. The cashier seemed un-empathetic and made it a point to tell me , " you'd be surprised of how much theft occurs here." Her ridiculous statement, ensured my shopping experience was even worse. I just want to bring today's 4/30/2015 incident at your store(4729 East Ray Rd Ahwatukee Foothills Towne Center, Phoenix, AZ) in your notice that how rude salesperson are working in marshall. Ok, here you go. My wife went to marshall for buying stuff she bought item stuff at marshall store at 04/30/2015 with reference number 02686495 and later she realized she needs to return one item for which she don't have receipt (generally we trust marshall store and dnt return anything so we dont keep receipt very safe). So she came back(this time i was with her as well) and ask sale representative she want to return item and salesperson told her the she has given her store credit so she asked if she can use the store credit with the item she just bought. Salesperson said ok. After returning item, Now please pay attention, sales representative told her the item you bought(02686495) has items ticket marked wrong and it should be higher price and now i will give you on higher price if you wish to buy otherwise it's ok leave it. 1) why the hell it was marked wrong at first place. 2)so isthat means you marked lower price item to higher as well. ok i asked this question, so her reply is if we(as marshal) marked it wrong she loves to give me but it's not. So indirectly she was blaming us that we did it. I didnt discuss it further with her because she don't looks logical and i know it will leads to an argument. This is by far the worst Marshall's I have ever been in. Yes they are cleaning the shopping carts. Yes they have someone up front with mask and hand sanitizer. Horrible displays. Limited stock. I just stood in line for 2O mins and only moved after 2 people left ahead of me. People touching everything while in line. Most high touch display during Covid. Great deals, great merchandise. Just don't return it. Now I've shopped this location for quite awhile. And never had any issues. I've also never returned anything until now. While returning I had initially used a merchandise credit for part of the transaction and visa for the rest. Which the cashier informed me I'd receive both forms of payment back. Which was fine. What she decided to do which stumps me is return merchandise credit for more than the amount of the previous merchandise credit used. Then return the rest on my debit card. When I questioned why that happened. She proceeded to raise her voice and repeat that I didn't understand and I paid in merchandise credit. After questioning her again about the amount, and her visible frustration I told her she didn't explain it the way she did the transaction and the initial merchandise credit amount was less then the amount she gave me back on the merchandise credit. To which she said. It's because there's more items you'll probably end up returning anyway that's why I did it. Now I'm not sure what you mean by that but this is one of the first times I've returned anything here and in all honesty if this is the attitude you have while returning maybe I should shop elsewhere. I found a shirt with no tags, Under Armor running shirt with a Superman logo. Couldn't find another one in the entire store so I brought up a white Under Armor running shirt as well, tags said 16.99. I asked the girl since it was exactly the same shirt minus the Superman logo, could I pay that price or close to it? She DEFINETELY told me it was more because of the logo, ok... she said her kid had wanted it and thought it was 20-29.99 ... No straight answer or price, I told her I don't want it if she doesn't know the damn price & got the white one.... I live by this Marshall's and I go here often. Usually it's a chill, regular experience. Today I was in there and while shopping, I overheard two associates speaking. One was an older woman with white hair, the other was a young lady that I didn't get a good look at. The older lady explained to the younger girl how she had just reorganized the dresses and went onto complain about "These customers! They just throw everything everywhere, ugh!" I ignored them and went on about my shopping. Later the woman was literally speaking to herself LOUDLY! She said things like "Jesus people! Put things back where they go! This obviously doesn't go here! Ugh! Oh my Goddd." SHE ANNOYED THE HELL OUT OF ME! It took a lot for me not to turn around and tell her how negative and annoying she was being. I can't even imagine working with this woman! The vibes and the bad energy is contagious! She needs a vacation. Someone needs to do overhaul/ retrain and reevaluate your store staff at Ahwatukee foothills Towne Center location. The manager Stacy ( or Avery ) shouldn't be a manager and need to go through customer service training and data security training. Not only did she try to snatch my ID out of my hand When attempting to use your in store card. Telling customers you have a lot of fraud at your location and making up what seems to be lies is not okay. Also saying my physical card number out loud instead using my temporary card isn't cool. Especially when using ur in store card is ludicrous and saying you need to call and verify that the purchase is going to go through. Ive spent many dollars and time in this store and to tryna to make a purchase and to be treated like a criminal is not OKAY. I can't explain the outrageous nature and behavior of the team. The pressure that the sales person and the manager put upon my elderly mother today to sign up for a credit cards was horrible. My mother cannot deal well with stress or pressure, and they pushed her to the point where she felt she had to sign up. She cried about it for the rest of the night and all the next day. While we know that she is ultimately responsible for her own actions, the elderly often don't have the ability to deal with pressure like they could when younger. Horrible customer service here. Their manager on duty, Stacy was so unprofessional. I was told by a sales clerk I could exchange pants for another size. Had the tags but no receipt and had just bought 4 days earlier. When the manager came over she started inspecting the pants and told me they clearly had been worn and she could not return them. They were identical to the pair I was buying except a couple of wrinkles in them. She was very rude about it and did not apologize and told me she was not letting me do an exchange and that was that. I have never had such horrible customer service. It a company wants to survive they need to realize that customers are going to go home and wear a pair of pants for a couple of hours and realize they don't fit correctly or are uncomfortable and any place with decent customer service would gladly do an exchange. Never shopping here again and that manager should probably find a job where she doesn't need to interact with people. read more
