Even the other shoppers were looking at each other disconcertedly because of how loud the employee was yelling. Another female employee with black glasses was also coming around and reminding people but I wasn't affected by her until I came up to the front. It turned exactly 7 o'clock. I took two items out of my cart before going 4 feet up to the register and the same female employee approached me in a very rude tone saying-- "We are LITERALLY closed. You need to leave now". As someone who works in the service and healthcare industry, I've never spoken to any customer in a manner quite like that. I didn't approach the store minutes before they close. I was reviewing my items in the cart and actively approaching the register. The Big Lots store in Columbus however, is managed in a much better way and they don't yell throughout the store. As for those employees in Franklin's Big Lots, they will leave a bad impression for the last people to ever shop in a Big Lots store. Despite loving my purchase, the customer service was very disappointing.

I love how inviting they are and at one point I stopped to talk about work related things with one of the night shift workers. Great guy! They are very clean generally, a good selection of fresh produce, and everything else well stocked from meat to daily necessities. Sometimes, despite being through the store countless times, I have trouble finding something... but I can usually get around quickly, and if the WiFi connection is strong enough the website tells me the exact aisle. lol! I would actually drive out of my way to go to this one because the one on US 31 in Indianapolis is extremely icky on many levels. I still go to the Walmart in Franklin if I'm close to it because it's located near my mom's house. I even worked at this Walmart for about four months (years ago) in the garden department. But,....alas, that's a whole other story. :-) As always, the prices are very competitive and this Walmart never seems to be really busy so that's another plus. All in all, it's a Walmart, so I guess I will always have a love/hate relationship with the place one way or another.

We frequent Macy's a lot when needing to get clothes for occasions. They have multiple entrances, so parking usually isn't an issue here. The mall can get really busy during holidays, so it may be harder to find parking during these times. The entrance by the ladies/junior section has a women's restroom conveniently located by the fitting room. I have used this restroom often, and it's usually clean. Macy's sale racks are worth checking out. I found a cute sweater dress marked down for $22 that was on last act that I purchased. Original price was $80. I love a good sale. Fitting rooms are available in many of the departments, so that's never an issue. Most of the workers are helpful. This location also has a whole area for Macy's Backstage which is more clearance/marked down items. I found a pair of boots that were my size for $5, but unfortunately they were too tight so I decided not to purchase.

The downstairs is divided up behind interior walls and the signage above the wide arch doorways directs you to the various sub departments. Walking into the store, one cannot help but smell all the pleasurable fragrances in their vast perfume areas. The store is bright, inviting and absolutely sparkles. Eventually I found the men's department up the escalator on the second floor. I was also looking for the "boys" department or young men's area but never found a specific area with those smaller sizes for teen boys. The sizing on pajamas has grown out of portion for a normal size person. Think of the swimming trunks for men these days. Some of them go down to your calves. I wear a large size in clothing. The small size of pajamas is like wearing a tent. The pants were a foot too long and the cuff of the long sleeves of the shirt went six inches past my wrist. This is why I was looking for young men sizes but they probably don't wear the matching pajamas style anymore. The did have a sale on the pajamas I did find. They were really marked down compared to other department stores. But not enough to offset the alterations costs for me.

It is now more typical to wait 20 minutes to an hour for groceries to be brought to your car once you arrive. I typically do not receive an apology for my wait. Associates bringing groceries to cars are oftentimes observed to be doing their jobs very slowly and at times not carefully. When there have been no parking places left for curbside pickup and people waiting 30+ minutes, it is not uncommon to observe associates making prolonged small talk with customers unrelated to completing their grocery orders. Disappointing and makes me want to utilize Kroger and Meijer's curbside services more often.

A project by Center for Global Impact, they teach women from Cambodia how to sew and cook, and then their items are sold here. And let me tell you, folks, these threads are trendy, reasonably priced, and high quality. Each item is stitched with the woman's name that sewed it in the back. It's basically like wearing a global hug. The shop itself is cozy and bright, and the sales associates friendly. Definitely worth a stop!
