I want to recognize Brenda at Macy's in Greenwood Park Mall for truly exceptional service. What makes our experience so remarkable is that Brenda had already clocked out for the day when I approached her for help--I had no idea at the time. Instead of simply pointing us in the right direction, she stayed with us for at least another hour and a half to help my son find everything he needed. She sized him for a suit, helped us work through different fits and styles, and stayed with us as we selected a suit, at least six pairs of pants, four or five shirts, two ties, socks, and more. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and kind throughout the entire process. My son was becoming quite overwhelmed by all of the choices, and Brenda recognized that and made the experience manageable for him. Without her help, we genuinely would have struggled to get everything accomplished. Employees like Brenda are what make customers want to return to a store. Staying that long after her shift to make sure we were completely taken care of was far beyond anything we expected. We are incredibly grateful for her kindness and dedication, and I sincerely hope Macy's recognizes Brenda for going so far above and beyond for us. Thank you, Brenda. This Macy's is located in Greenwood Park Mall. My husband and I like shopping at Macy's because they have everything from casual to dress wear to outdoors stuff. We frequent Macy's a lot when needing to get clothes for occasions. They have multiple entrances, so parking usually isn't an issue here. The mall can get really busy during holidays, so it may be harder to find parking during these times. The entrance by the ladies/junior section has a women's restroom conveniently located by the fitting room. I have used this restroom often, and it's usually clean. Macy's sale racks are worth checking out. I found a cute sweater dress marked down for $22 that was on last act that I purchased. Original price was $80. I love a good sale. Fitting rooms are available in many of the departments, so that's never an issue. Most of the workers are helpful. This location also has a whole area for Macy's Backstage which is more clearance/marked down items. I found a pair of boots that were my size for $5, but unfortunately they were too tight so I decided not to purchase. read more

I find Macy's to be a somewhat confusing layout and harder to find certain products. The Mens department is upstairs unlike other department stores. The downstairs is divided up behind interior walls and the signage above the wide arch doorways directs you to the various sub departments. Walking into the store, one cannot help but smell all the pleasurable fragrances in their vast perfume areas. The store is bright, inviting and absolutely sparkles. Eventually I found the men's department up the escalator on the second floor. I was also looking for the "boys" department or young men's area but never found a specific area with those smaller sizes for teen boys. The sizing on pajamas has grown out of portion for a normal size person. Think of the swimming trunks for men these days. Some of them go down to your calves. I wear a large size in clothing. The small size of pajamas is like wearing a tent. The pants were a foot too long and the cuff of the long sleeves of the shirt went six inches past my wrist. This is why I was looking for young men sizes but they probably don't wear the matching pajamas style anymore. The did have a sale on the pajamas I did find. They were really marked down compared to other department stores. But not enough to offset the alterations costs for me. read more

Never been a Macy's guy, but was looking for something specific and my usual spots didn't have what I was looking for so I gave it a shot. Not sure I'll be back. Granted, they're clearly understaffed, so I was trying to be gracious. But too many strikes in a row for me to come back for more. We went in about an hour and a half before closing time, bought a few things, but ultimately we were checking out about ten minutes before closing. Unfortunately I had lost an item in the changing room and didn't realize until after they locked up. No problem, I'll just call or stop by in the morning. Went in, explained the situation, and a very kind manager took my number and told me she'd update me later. Around 7pm, I had a missed call from the store -- no voicemail. Called right back, but got stuck in a phone tree that when I finally got a person, every single person was *extremely* unhelpful. (One employee simply informed me that he "didn't work last night." Not helpful, man.) Tried this process for a couple of days, went back in person a few days later and got absolutely nowhere, and no one even seemed to pretend to care other than the first manager. At this point I've given up on finding that item or getting any help from a human inside this store. read more

I have never been a "mall person," but Macy's is a nice store despite being located within a mall. One thing I like about it is that it is located with its own entranceways and exits. That way you can quickly go to only it without going into the rest of the mall. Prices are consistent with other stores located within the mall, and they have nice sales and clearance racks. I am on the email list for deals, and enjoy getting a heads up on those. Also, if they don't have your size in an item, they will ship it to your home for free. We have had this done two time with prom dresses for my daughter. Overall, a nice place to shop. read more

I've worked at this mall previously and never had the best experience at this store but never took the time to leave a review as the instances weren't more recent. Decided to place a pick up order at this location, it arrived promptly which I appreciate but unfortunately the process of picking it up was not as prompt as the ordering itself. I recommend coming in as soon as they open otherwise you are subject to wait much longer than you expected. Only one lady working, not sure if she's not allowed to call for help but stood for 10 minutes before she addressed me and another 5 before walking out. Will try again tomorrow fingers crossed I get to pick up my order (thankfully you have a 7day window, I'm guessing for this exact reason ) read more

Macy's has always been a bit difficult for me. I like the brands and the sale prices are generally very good. However, with Target and Super Target, the differences are so tiny, that I'd rather shop Target stores. There was a time when Macy's (or Bloomingdale's) was upscale but their (Federated Department Stores) buying spree has changed Macy's forever with Bambergers, Burdines, Lazarus, and more. I like the chain for its brands, and being an anchor at Greenwood Park Mall, the store is convenient. It's just not as compelling these days. read more

I usually find good pieces here. However, I had an encounter with one of the employees on 11/28 near closing time. I went to check out in the backstage area where one of the employees smiled at me and started to help. Then, another employee said rudely , ma'am we are closed which I completely understand. However, when I asked where I can check out she just pointed and said that way. Anyone who shops there regularly knows how hard it is to find a checkout person. I was so frustrated that I just put the stuff I was going to buy back. It was unnecessary for her to talk to me like that. I mean you're in the customer service business. I was disappointed by the customer service at this location. The sales associate asked me if I needed help, but it sounded very effortful on her part. When I was taking the merchandise to the trial room she, rudely, said don't leave anything back in trial rooms. After I bought my items the managers asked me to put things back that I didn't buy. I am assuming because of Covid they don't want to touch unnecessary things, but there is a way to go about it. Other than the not very nice customer service, I liked what I bought. read more

I used to love Macy's. I don't ever go in the place any more. On my last visit, as I was browsing the clearance racks in the ladies department, my decision to stay away was solidified. I was approached by an older sales associate. She asked if there was anything in particular I was looking for. I answered "no, I'm just browsing". Shockingly, she then said she didn't like the way I was "skulking around" and I should just make a decision or leave!!!! I told her (very calmly) that she just made my decision for me and I walked away. This event took place over a year ago and I'm still shaken by it.
