We bought a wedding dress at the Greenwood, Indiana location (Total: $1,799.00). They refuse a return if the dress for a full redundant even though we had no idea that we couldn't return it until after it was already bought and paid for. The dress is absolutely the wrong dress for my daughter for her wedding. She knew this 2 weeks after ordering and tried to cancel. Do not buy from this place. This is unfair and these are the reasons and facts. Lack of Disclosure: At the time of purchase, we were not informed that the sale was final or exchange-only. This policy was only discovered on the receipt after the transaction was completed. Attempted Cancellation: We contacted the store just two weeks after ordering to cancel. We were discouraged from doing so and persuaded to wait until the dress arrived. Had we been allowed to cancel then, the dress would not have even left the warehouse. Pristine Condition: The dress was picked up on March 5th and remains in absolute pristine, unworn, and unaltered condition with all tags attached. read more

I honestly didn't have a super great experience here. The customer service awful. I did not feel like a bride due to the lack of care and help I got from the employees. They made me feel stupid, for a lack of a better term, for asking questions. I know this isn't like other bridal places where they pamper you and make it a whole thing. But I wasn't going into this expecting that I'd be leaving feeling so disappointed and not special at all. Ontop of the bad customer service, when I went to pick up my dress, they asked if I wanted to try it on but didn't help me or come back with me at all. My dress wasn't steamed or made to look pretty enough to even take home because of how wrinkly it was. Management / customer service is the absolute worst . Nothing but a group of mean girls who talk down on employees and their own customers . If you're not up to their standards they call you names (clients and employees) . I overheard an employee calling a bride "too fat" or "built weirdly" and seen management belittling their own employee by saying "you need to work on your sales" and employees belittling their coworkers by arguing with them during appointments . There is no care for the wedding dresses as they come with so many wardrobe malfunctions as in ; zippers broken , train of the dresses all stepped on and dust collected at the end an with foul odor smells . I really enjoy spending time with my daughter, however one of my least favorite things to do is shop for prom dresses. This year, we started at David's Bridal. The selection was very good. They did not limit the amount of dresses she could take back to try on. The mirrors in the dressing area were fantastic for seeing all the angles of the dresses, and the associates were friendly and helpful without being pushy or in the way. They even told me how to get a discount on the dress! We were in and out of the store in about an hour with the perfect dress in hand! Being able to get that done so quickly allowed my daughter and me to spend quality time together doing other things that day. Also, having a good selection, in a range of sizes all in one store really helps make the shopping experience be more enjoyable as well. read more

Wish they had coupons or something. We went shopping for my daughters wedding dress. It was pretty crowded and we also looked for our dresses and they just didn't have any simple sizes available like 8 and 10s. I had a large entourage joining me the day I picked my dress. It was a bit overwhelming, but my host didn't help much. It seemed like they were busy, and we were taking up a lot of space. It ended in me picking a dress out of overwhelmedness rather than thinking it through. My biggest qualms were this: they said my dress size and budget in front of everybody. You'd think they would attempt some tack and ask the bride privately if she minded telling her entourage this information. It's best not assume every bride is okay with having her budget and size discussed. Not the worst service in the world, but I sincerely regretted the dress I chose and the price I paid. Literally the worst wedding dress experience ever and made me never want to go shopping again. Walked in and all 3 girls at the front were sitting on their phones, only 1 greeted me. Completely empty with no customers. Then all the workers went to the back room and the whole place was left unattended. After fifteen mins of waiting, I grabbed the dress I wanted to try on and went to the changing rooms myself. Nobody even said bye when I left. Really sad experience and maybe hiring pre teens is just not the way to go. read more

Changing my review after coming back to pick up my dress tonight. I purchased my dress in November and it was due to be here in April but it came in two months early (yay!). However, when I tried it on - the dress wouldn't zip up. I haven't gained weight - the woman who was helping me explained that the dress I tried on is made differently than the one I bought, so the size isn't the same. After taking my measurements she said, "Your measurements are perfect for the size up, I don't know why they didn't recommend you do that." She told me I could return the dress for a size up but that the dress wasn't guaranteed to come in until five days before my wedding day in June. So that wasn't happening. It's not a big deal in the sense that I can definitely lose the weight but I'm kind of tiffed that no one measured me in November - instead I just tried on different sizes of the dress until one seemed to fit the best, but apparently that doesn't matter when the one I ordered doesn't even fit like the one I tried on. I also had three or four experiences tonight where different employees would say, "Oh sure, I'll help you out with that" and then literally forget so I'd have to ask someone else. They were busy but it was still discourteous. All in all, I'm not feeling good after tonight but my initial experience was still positive so I'm trying to hold on to that. read more

Not welcoming at all. I was just in to pick up a bridesmaid dress and was observing while they went to get my dress. A gentlemen had to ask if anyone could help them. Three girls were just sitting at the front table. I feel like this is supposed to be a good experience for a bride. Just wasn't not very welcoming and they seemed like they hated their lives. Went wedding dress shopping with my daughter. Amber assisted her and she was awesome! She was very informative, spending time to give helpful tips and ideas. She was never pushy and tried to accommodate all of our wishes. She was interested to know the style of wedding and then make dress suggestions. She made it so much fun easy! We went to David's Bridal in search of bridesmaid dresses. We actually stopped in the store on 82nd St. and not only was it a zoo, but the person working at the front desk was pretty much really rude. The experience on the south side was much more relaxed. DB's is definitely a wedding dress factory that doesn't really appeal to me. I saw lots of brides kind of by themselves/with family with no employee working with them. The bridesmaid dress selection was pretty great, though. We found a few that we liked, in a variety of size and colors, and within about five minutes had made the decision. Some of the negatives: Despite there being 30 dressing rooms (many of which were open), I was forced to "register" (with my name and email, of course) so that my bridesmaids could try stuff on. We were told that we'd have to wait for 20 minutes, which was ridiculous because there were so many open rooms, so we just took charge and made it happen on our own. Right as the girls finished up a sales lady appeared, all too happy to take the commission for dresses that she had no part in helping pick out. The lady was also training someone new, which was a little distracting because it made things go very slowly during a peak time (weekend afternoon). She was also like...yelling at all the other employees in the store. It was sort of uncomfortable at the cash register when she was barking at everyone around us. Bottom line: Know what you're getting into. Someone once told me that DB's is the Walmart of wedding stuff, which is maybe true, but if you're focused and on a budget I'm sure you could make it happen there even without the assistance of a potentially weird employee. read more

My wedding is 6/15/13. I got my wedding dress from here about a year ago on sale. When I arrived with my 2 FSILS and my neice the lady was very nice and eager to help me. I showed her the picture of my dress and she seemed relieved I knew what I wanted lol. She brought the dress to me and I tried it on. Thank goodness she helped me because I didn't know the effort needed just to put it on lol. She brought me accessories to go with it and while I loved them, they are expensive on the veil and accessories. My dress came in way before the time I was quoted but I didn't mind that at all. I also got my junior bridesmaid dresses from there. Again the staff was amazing and patient. There wasn't an issue with finding the dress and the lady helped us decide on the correct size for her. I can't wait until it comes in. My girls' bridemaid dresses are also ordered from here. One bridesmaid has already received her order and she just placed it a few weeks ago! I did not buy my dress at this particular location (see previous review for Louisville) but after a so-so experience at the Castleton location, I decided to give this location a try for alterations for my wedding even though I have heard horror stories about David's Bridal alterations. I waited pretty late to actually schedule an appointment and when I first called, they had almost nothing available in the evenings and I had very little vacation hours available to use for this. However, the phone representative then said they don't normally do appointments on Monday but she could get me in about a week later, hooray! Love not having to drain all my vacation! I get to the appointment and the woman was SO wonderful, I came alone to my first fitting so she had to help me with getting it on and then go to work on what we would change. She was chatty and friendly and made me feel at ease especially since I was anxious about my first fitting and having to go alone. At the next fitting (supposed to be final fitting), I had another woman and she was very nice as well and I brought my man of honor along to learn the corset back and bustle. The appointment went well. Later that evening, I looked at pictures and decided I was unhappy with how it was fitting up top (I don't know if DB should have caught this, I mean it fit ok, so who knows). At the encouragement of my coworkers the next day I called them back and told them I was unhappy, I spoke to woman #1 again and she said she could see me that evening. This was only about 2 weeks before my wedding! When I got there, she listened to what I said and told me what could be done. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best, once again she was so kind about it all and didn't make any comments about how short notice it was and how I didn't say anything when I picked it up the first time. Made me feel so so much better. Sure enough I see her one more time (btw, I am pretty sure her name is Joyce) and it fit great. I was happy with how the alterations turned out in the end and so glad they were able to do the additional alterations. I hope Indy brides have the same great experience at this store if they choose to take their dress there. I am glad I did. read more

My sister in law made an appointment for her bridal party to find dresses for her wedding in July. You would think having made an appointment, they would have someone ready and willing to help us. That was not the case. It seemed they may have been short staffed, which would be okay if we were at least getting acknowledged a tiny bit. We were completely on our own. When we finally did flag someone down to help us, the 2 ladies acted as if we were bothering them. Their demeanors were just very unpleasant and we were treated like garbage, not at all like we had made an appointment to try on and purchase roughly $1500 in dresses. We finally managed to pick out all of our dresses and we left the store. Most of us needed to wait to order our dresses and they said that was fine, as we had plenty of time before the wedding. When I called to get my dress style and size so that I could order online, the girl on the phone told me she could just order it for me, so that I could get free shipping. I said okay and ordered. My dress came a couple of weeks later and it was the wrong one. I couldn't take the dress back to the Greenwood store, as I live 2 hours away. I was told over the phone that I could take it to another location. I took it to the Florence, KY store and the lady there acting bewildered that I was told to return the dress to the store, as they have a no return policy. She ended up having to call the Greenwood store to figure out what happened and why I was sent there. She was finally able to order me the correct dress but then I was told they do not ship for free and that I would need to return, yet again, to the store to get my dress. So obviously the girl at the Greenwood store needs to go through proper training again because she didn't know what she was talking about at all. It was a huge hassle and a huge waste of my precious time having to go to the stores multiple times. read more

the WORST customer service experience ever. my best friend was in the store trying on dresses and was told she could order the dress she LOVED, then the lady last minute told her they couldn't order it. there was no way she would buy the dress in store because it was ripped and worn by a bunch of other people. My experience with the Greenwood location of David's Bridal was underwhelming to say the least. We stopped in to look at Mother of the Bride dresses for my mom. We were simply pointed to a corner and then left to ourselves. In the 30-or-so minutes we browsed, not one salesperson stopped by to ask if we had questions or needed help. On top of that, the selection of attractive dresses over a size 12 are extremely limited. My mom found a few pieces she wanted to try on and we were lead to a fitting room. Again, throughout the try-on process, there were no questions or checks in from salespeople. Even though we were shopping for my mother, I was very surprised that I received no attention as a bride. I was at least expecting a salesperson to ask me a question or two in an attempt to sell me something, but I don't think they could have cared less. It was a pretty sad first experience with David's Bridal and the first shopping stop on my journey to the altar. read more

This is a wonderful store with a wonderful staff and manager! This is our second (maybe third) experience with this store, and we have been very pleased on all occasions. Since this is the only location my daughter and I have gone to for bridesmaid dresses, we can't comment on how the employees/store differ from other locations. All I can say is that you will be treated nicely and respectfully at this location. We had made appointments on the times we have been to this store. That is a benefit if you are looking for something specific. What I like about this location too is that the employees that we have had help us have not been *pushy*...they have been sincerely helpful and encouraging. They have also offered suggestions in a nice way. We've had questions that got answered without being condescending or snotty. We arrived early and still had to wait past our appointment time. The place was overbooked and hectic. We were kicked out of our try on area because "they had a bride coming who needed it". We were with a bride as well, so why are we getting kicked out of our area? The bridal assistant was not helpful and barely spoke a word to our bride. But, the woman who approached us and told us we had to move was rude and inconsiderate. I went to the Greenwood, Indiana location a few weeks ago. I had looked at wedding dresses online and had an idea of what I wanted as well as my budget. This was my very first time going into a bridal salon. While I wasn't expecting that princess feeling, I also wasn't expecting the pretty lousy experience I was given. I left that day and did not buy a dress from David's for a number of reasons. First, I was left alone with my mother to wander the floor and find dresses we liked. I found six that I liked, and there were all well within my budget so I knew I could still afford the extras and alterations. I did not get to try on a single dress I liked. Instead I was put into dresses way over what I was comfortable spending, and they were the exact opposite of what I told the saleswoman I was looking for. I was having a very casual private wedding in my garden. I was shown giant, colorful ballgowns that were frankly ridiculous. I honestly don't even remember her name because the store was so overbooked that I had four different people scrambling around me. They didn't know my name, what I had told them about my budget, or what I was looking for. Also, I told the woman my size and gave her my measurements. I am a size 6-8 in most dresses, so not an extreme or unusual size to fit. I was continuously put into sample dresses that were several sizes too small. At one point I told the attendant that she was hurting me and that I couldn't breathe comfortably in the dress. Her response? She held the too small dress and called someone in to help her literally stuff my skin into the dress. It hurt, it was humiliating, and they showed no signs of caring when I expressed my discomfort. I left my appointment with a half hour left because I was feeling so pressured and overwhelmed. Not to mention completely humiliated and frustrated. My fiance was less than pleased when I returned home crying. It took me weeks to even want to look at dresses again. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location for anything. read more

Over the last 6 months we have been in and out of David's Bridal adding additional accessories and always it has been a pleasure to go in there. We had our dresses altered and hemmed. They did a fabulous job! David's Bridal made our experience wonderful and I would recommend them to anyone. I scheduled an appointment for last Saturday, and I worked with Marissa L. My group shopped around for a few minutes, and she greeted us quickly. She had no problem starting me out with a few dresses my group picked out, which I appreciated. She helped me into each dress and pulled accessories to match while out on the stage. They were fairly busy at the time, but I felt that Marissa was very attentive throughout, while still giving me and my group time and space to discuss each dress. I really felt like she listened while in the room and as I tried on the dresses my friends and I picked out because after we finished with those, she pulled some dresses based on the feedback. As she came back to the room, my friends even commented on how perfect one of the dresses she pulled looked--and that turned out to be the dress! The Cassini gown I picked wasn't really what I thought I wanted when I came in, but I felt like Marissa listened and knew her stuff enough to know she should show it to me. I had an appointment elsewhere after, and I wanted some time to think, but Marissa wasn't pushy at all and didn't make me feel bad for leaving without purchasing. She had such a bubbly and fun attitude with my group that it made the day a great experience. I ended up returning the next day after a less-than-great experience elsewhere to make the purchase, and Marissa was definitely a factor in that. While I can't comment on how the dress turned out since I just purchased it, I would definitely recommend this location based on the experience I had. I didn't really expect to find my dress at David's because it seemed like a generic wedding dress store, but this changed my opinion. I honestly feel amazing about my wedding day look.
