Definitely come here to buy a plant or get some gardening equipment! They even have some soil specific to succulents and then regular soil for all types of plants. When I first walked in, it smelled lovely. It smelled like lavender and lemons. The temperature inside was also refreshing since we came in from 80-90 degree weather. I loved how many plants there were. There were a lot of houseplants and they had other plants as well but I wasn't sure about what kind. They have teas as well and seeds. It's really relaxing to be in there. I definitely need to come back to get some tea since you can buy it from their bags and take some home in your own container or their sustainable bags :)

What a fun and beautiful addition to the Fountain Square scene! During a recent stroll through the area, a friend and I popped our heads around to see Snakeroot Botanicals. How could I not with those veggie starts luring me in on the sidewalk? ;) So what will you find here? -vegetable plant starts and herbs -tropical indoor plants -earthy gifts for kiddos like insect houses -a wide selection of loose leaf tea - containers and dirt for your indoor plant selections -the oh-so-trendy succulents -fun neighboring businesses like Vinyl Cat Records, Wildwood Market, Bovaconti Coffee and hopefully, one day, Indy Reads Note that you can also order your items from Snakeroot Botanicals online. Happy gardening or indoor planting ;)

By now, it's fairly well known that in late 2019 I was hospitalized and ended up with having my left leg amputated. After nearly 4 months of recovering at home, I returned to work for one week before being sent to work from home. I've been working from home for nearly a year now. So, for right around 16 months I've spent a good majority of my life alone as a single, disabled adult. I finally realized I needed to get some life into the house. Despite my own self-perception that I'm not much good at growing anything or maintaining pets, I decided to start with plants. I've done surprisingly well and have recently began expanding my plant collection at home. So, when I was in Fountain Square earlier today and spotted the recently opened Snakeroot Botanicals I had to go check it out. I'm in love. There's a warm, welcoming vibe as you arrive at the door of this lovely little shop. You can see the plants as you near the shop and there's just something about the way that they're situated that draws you in. Snakeroot is a garden and herbal center specializing in all types of gardening and herbal products. They promote gardening as a way of healing the planet and healing ourselves. They carry indoor and outdoor plants at a wide variety of prices. If you're wanting to smart small, they'll have something for you. If you're ready to expand, they're able to help. If you want a big plant for that empty corner? Yep, they have that too. They focus on plants with medicinal or culinary values. Their herbal section includes a nice selection of medicinal and culinary herbs. Heartland Hemp and Supply Co. is their exclusive supplier for CBD products (which they do have). They also carry a selection of essential oils and they have a nice selection of empty pots and a back room that seems to have some gardening supplies. You can get plants, seeds, herbs, bulk seeds, books, tea, essential oils, planters, gardening supplies, gifts, and gift cards. The employees I met were kind, compassionate, and helpful without being intrusive. The plants were well cared for - there was an obvious plant healthy environment even though it was also simply a retail spot rather than a greenhouse. You can tell they made an effort to create a healthy, welcoming environment. Plus, I have to admit. I really love the name "Snakeroot Botanicals." I didn't buy anything this time around - mostly because I'm in a wheelchair and needed to figure out getting it back to my car. However, I definitely plan to visit again soon and explore my options. In terms of accessibility, the store entry is level to the ground and the aisles were wide enough for wheelchairs. Health guidelines were being followed and the overall environment was peaceful and quite nice. The Fountain Square area can be a bit iffy with accessibility, but curb cuts are common and there are various places to park around Fountain Square including a free lot about a block away. As an added plus, I noticed that they're selling plants from Indy Urban Acres - it's a fantastic program and the fact that they're supporting it makes me want to support them!

A fun, unique addition to the FSQ main drag. I love exploring in this store and have gotten many beautiful plants and other items here. I love that they also have a big area of gardening and plant care tools, not just the plants. Their prices are fair and staff are knowledgeable and helpful. A great place to wander through if you're waiting for your number to be called for a restaurant. Free street parking available. And owned by the awesome team at Square Cat Vinyl next door.

Best plant shop in the area. Coming off the tail end of covid a little bit of outdoors in my tiny back yard as well as some new, fun houseplants are just what I needed.

This place just recently opened this past weekend so I had to stop for a visit while I was in the area! The space is simple and beautiful. It is a great addition to the neighborhood! There were a variety of plants from small to large. A little something for everyone :-) They also carried different plant pots and I think I saw some gardening tools in the back. Near the register, they had a variety of herbal products as well.

The business has always had a calming atmosphere with their setups of running fountains and planters at the forefront of the establishment. Heading deeper past the wide array of various sized planters, you can find almost any kind of plant you're looking for. They have both perrenials and stunning annual flowers as well as your classic hastas, ferns, and different kinds of shrubbery. Additionally they have hanging baskets that my mom and I always used to choose from for my grandmother as a present on Mother's Day. My personal favorites to look for that they have in are the different types of climbing vine plants they have such as clematis and candy corn plants. When I was old enough I received my own plot of my mom's garden to fill with my own plants, so of course we went to Rosie's, and we were able to find even some of the most obscure flowers that I wanted. My personal favorite that I was able to find was a mock orange bush. I can proudly say that my garden is thriving because of Rosie's care and devotion. The best part about Rosie's though, is that their plants are well taken care of. My mom and I have always gone to Rosie's because they give the plants a healthy start, ensuring that perrenials will last for years to come and annuals won't shrivel up and die the second you transplant them like flowers from Lowes. The icing on the cake is how welcoming and nice the staff are. They're always helpful in finding what you're looking for and helping to load heavy bags of potting soil or large plants. Overall, I think the word needs to get out more about Rosie's in the gardening community. They have won me over for life, and I would always recommend this place to friends that are interested in building their own garden.
