Oh zero or negative stars, how I wish you were here now! Look, in an ideal world if one did not have a concern for money, one would probably never enter a Marshalls. But with times the way they are... they have some good stuff at really good prices. I needed a suit... I bought 3 at the West LA location... Pleasant... easy... all good. But when I got home I noticed the cashier took ALL THE MARSHALLS tags off... Uh oh... I only needed one suit, but needed to show "the boss" who was not with me. We picked one out, and off I was to the Encino location to return the other two... receipt in hand, and assuming I'd be out in 5 minutes. Now even though she took the tags off, there were tags on the pants that matched the receipt... Apparently that was not good enough to do a return at Encino. To her credit, the cashier made a decent effort to help... but no "MOD" seemed to be too concerned with her PA calls for assistance and the necessary approval. We waited for 20 minutes... She said she needed to make new tags and went off to do that... The she needed approval... Manager, oh manager... Crickets... more wasted time. Finally two managers showed up and said that the suit could not be returned at this location. AAGGHH! 30 + minutes of life WASTED. I was so frustrated, so I asked the manager for the Customer service number... He said, and I quote "I don't have it. I have to go upstairs to get it..." Guess what? The number is (888) Marhsalls!!!!! Un frickin' believable... And of course they were closed when I called... Their promise is this" "At Marshalls, customers are our top priority and we want to make sure you're satisfied" Hold on... Sorry... I was just laughing in utter surprise. read more

Great organization at this Marshalls! Lots of variety too! I personally love the little designer section for women. The line here is ridiculous sometimes... most of the time there is only one cashier, and if there is 2... someone is holding it up with a damn return/exchange/price check. This location is OK. I prefer their other one. Why? 1). Cleanliness and organization. This one was kind of disheveled with empty shelves. As if there was a super sale and a mob of people came in and no one was there to clean up afterwards. 2). Parking lot. SUPER DARK. It was about 8:30pm and there were barely any lights on. I did not feel safe. They really need to fix that. Other than that, this one is less crowded and they have their own parking lot. I would come back, but in the day time. read more

I never liked Marshall stores but recently they are adding home goods to all their locations and I love it. Huge parking lot, so so number of employees on the floor to help you. The store is clean and tidy which is always a plus for me. read more

Had a 25.00 gift card, so came today about 4 ish to use it. I ended up spending 60 bucks more but found some good stuff. My fav hemp body lotion, sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, pumpkin spice coffee, and a pumpkin spice candle and a couple workout tops. Their selection is not even close to as nice as the one on Vanowen, but I still dropped some cash. Store was messy and unorganized, but employees were nice. I like it! I decided to check out this Marshalls location since it was closer to me. First, there is PLENTY of parking unlike the Studio City location where you have to basically fight for a parking spot unless you want to park in the dungeon of a parking garage that they have. Next, it's a pretty big store. I found my Chi products and on sale no problem so I was pretty happy. I have been here a total of 3 times now so I can say every experience with customer service from the employees has been good. The only reason why I am not giving them 5 stars is that it seems like the lines move pretty slow. I know these type of dept stores almost always tend to have long lines, but, every experience I have had here, the line has taken forever. Been coming here for years. They have a pretty large selection and everything is REALLY cheap. You'll see a lot of old women (no Victoria Secret girls here), but the selection is actually pretty diverse and always cheap. They have designer clothes but most of the stuff they sell are lower-class designer stuff or brands you've never heard of. Easy parking lot is nice, too. read more

In my experience, the quality has gone downhill. This often happens with mergers: executives sacrifice quality for short-term growth. Today I tried to return a shirt that tore on the regular cycle of the washing machine. No shirt I've ever owned has done that. Ever. I had the receipt, but with no tag, I couldn't even get store credit. I don't plan to return here again. Save your time and shop on amazon or Nordstrom. Their selection is better, their return rates are better, and the convenience is better. read more

What a refreshing and pleasant surprise it was to walk into this Marshalls/HomeGoods this morning!! The store was so neat and clean, and so well-organized I was almost in shock! The HomeGoods I have usually gone to is such a hideous mess that I just assumed all the stores would be that way - especially during the holiday shopping season. But, this store in Encino absolutely made my day. I found a manager just so that I could express my delight at the beauty of the store. Maria O should try to be nicer to customers. Seems like she never learned such words as "please" or "thank you". Spending $600 for the past week at that store and $1000s and 1000s before I would expect the staff to be at list normal with customers I don't go there spending money that I work hard to make to be talked to like to some animal! Is being RUDE with customers is new normal now? I don't go there to spend my money and get negative emotions there for my money! The staff does a great job at keeping it COVID safe! They wipe everything down. The only unfortunate thing about this store is that the ceilings are so low, so it feels cramped at times while shopping. Of course, items get mixed but they offer both home items and clothing, which is great when you're looking for both! This location has the slowest service. They only keep 2 cashiers at the registers. The line will have about 7-10 people waiting. I've waited awhile before leaving a review because I wanted to see if their lack of speedy customer service was just poor that day. I've been back 6 times and the service is still very slow. Don't come here if you're in a rush and need a fast check out. None of the employees here care to move any faster than a snail. The store always has great items in the home dept but the customer service needs major improvement. read more

Horrible Experience, never will go back there. I went there and spoke to manager , her name was Tere ,I asked to return the item that where purchase the month before and she told me I cant get money back just because it passed 33 day and I had my proof of purchase as well . I saw a person that returned the item from 2 months ago and they accepted just because the manager and a lot of employees were latino and that lady where latino , and I were not so they didn't help me. The store is okay. Selection is not amazing but they occasionally have good finds. The last time I was there, the sales associate who was attending the register would not let go of the fact that I didn't want to apply for a credit card through Marshall's. I went to buy slippers and after I bought them, I realized that I lost my phone when I got into the car. I went back to the store and searched every section I was in. An employee, her name is Lucy V. Helped me in finding my phone, she worked hard and tried her best to find my shoe and at the end we were able to find my phone. There costumer service is great and I'm thankful for the employee that helped me. I hope Mrs.Lucy gets a raise for her hard work and her determination to help a costumer! read more

There's a problem here. I waited in a checkout line for 45mins because they had one lady on the cash register and about 50 other workers just hanging out on their phones around the store. This is absolutely ridiculous. If I could give no stars I would. This place needs to be revamped. read more

So...I come here often and today I was looking for some wine glasses. I was trying to not get some only for myself but for my cousin as well. And we all know how important it is for wine glasses to be the right fit let alone need to check to make sure they are not BROKEN since thats often the case places like this. I had found a set in my cart and I was trying to look for another, the employee in that section randomly said OH YOU CAN'T TOUCH THESE OR OPEN THEM, I'm like oh but I want to make sure they are not broken....she said you cant check. In due time, I dropped everything and left because of this employees attitude on a legit fact that I couldn't make sure the wine glasses weren't broken before purchasing...even big stores allow you to do this like Macys but I guess marshalls is higher than them LOL. I purchased few pans at Marshalls and after washing two of them only ONE time, they got RUST all over! I was shocked! What a poor quality items they're selling and how dangerous it might be to eat from something that gets rusted the moment it comes in contact with water! I went to return those pans and they didn't accept them, because it's against their policies and they don't have a direct connection with the vendor for returns. I asked to talk to manager and it was ridiculous that she told me that "they're a discounted store" with an attitude like what the hell i want from her?! They gave me a number of some lady named Sharon who works there only till 3pm so I can try to contact her to leave a complaint. This location is small. Mostly caters to older woman. Not a good selection for petites/misses. Good selection of hair and beauty products, soaps and perfumes. Didn't take a good look but it seemed like the had a good bedding and home section. read more

This Marshalls is within walking distance from my office. It's actually an okay store with some pretty good deals. I buy most of my work duds at Marshalls, usually during a lunch break. Hey, I never wear bizz cazz around the house, so paying more than $20 for a pair of dress pants is something I just can't justify. Work shoes, too. I'm not paying premium bucks for footwear that is going to be parked under my desk for eight hours a day. I enjoy browsing through the store and seeing the surplus garb that didn't quite take off. Lately, they have a ton of Ed Hardy and Affliction junk on the racks. Who didn't see that coming? Personally, I would never pay $80 for a t-shirt in a department store--and I still won't pay the $24.95 they're charging at Marshalls for that crap. Come on. The checkout line is always incredibly slow at Marshalls. Why? Seems their system of one line for all the registers doesn't work very well. They also have way too many last minute, impulse items lining the checkout line. Scented candles, weird teas and coffees, gross candies. Clear that junk out of the way! Nevertheless, Marshalls is okay with me. The more money I save on work clothes, the more I have for important things--like those 38 bookmarks on Yelp. read more

This place has some great people working for it. Unfortunately they get overlooked by domineering employees who feel they have the right to accost and purge customers out of the door by way of turning off the air condition, and turning out the lights. So this message goes directly to only the rude employees, understand this...You WORK at Marshalls, you don't work AS a Marshal. BEWARE! The credit card/upgrade push. I had a big purchase over $300. I already have a TJ Max/Marshall's/Homegoods card. During my transaction the cashier pushed that I upgrade my card to a MasterCard because I would save $30 plus get an extra $10 mailed to me. I declined several times. And they pushed and pushed. I was made to feel uncomfortable by having to explain the several reasons I DID NOT WANT TO UPGRADE! I'm working on improving my credit and tried to explain I did NOT want the transaction to hit my Credit report. I shouldn't have to explain my personal credit concerns in line, in front of 20 other people in line. It was embarrassing and I felt a lot of pressure from not 1 but 2 cashiers that would almost not take NO for an answer. They explicitly told me if I UpGraded it would not hit my credit report. WRONG!!!! After what felt like a battle at the register I caved because I believed them and was exhausted fighting against them. I totally understand the employees reasons they pushed so hard, I believe it's corporate policy for them to push these upgrades. But they should ABSOLUTELY NOT be pushing false information to make a sale. As soon as I got home, I received notifications from my credit reporting monitoring agency that NEW credit had been acquired and my credit score declined as a result! I am furious because although it may be 1 sale for an employee... this is 2 YEARS hit on my credit report!! Ughh! I will be trying to call the company now to cancel this card with somehow salvaging the hit on my credit. THIS SERIOUSLY affects your credit. If your are harassed to get a card and do not want one. Stand your ground!! This will affect your credit! This is a huge Issue and I will be calling Marshall's Corporate! read more

Manager wouldn't help with identifying person who returned ID, nor answer any questions in regards to the ordeal. Very uncooperative and bad attitude under the circumstances. My aunt described being bumped and purse weighing on her shoulder. She didn't realize until a short time later recognizing her purse being breached and open . There is quite a bit of variety for men. I've been able to find some awesome deals on some designer jackets and sweaters. The only thing I dread is the checkout line, usually at least a 10 minute wait. If you have the time this place is totally worth it and definitely worth checking out! read more

Who doesn't love Marshalls home good stores. Everyone knows that this is the go-to place to find odds and ends at great discounts. I have been shopping here for several years and today was the worst visit of all. I walked in with a return and was told that I could carry it around the store until I was ready to check out. So after an hour I gathered $60 worth of stuff got in line only to be told that they wouldn't take back my return. I explained that the lunch bag broke after a week's use. The lunch bag was horribly made the handles were attached to the plastic lining and clearly was a defect. The cashier went over to talk to MARIA who was the manager on duty at the time and she came over and said that unfortunately she would not be able to take the bag back because it was used. I explained to her that I had only used it for a week and it was a poor make and it should not have broke so quickly. She explained that they have never had any problems with makeup bags and that she would not take it back. By this time I'm irritated because I'm thinking about all the money that I have spent at Marshalls and they're not willing to take back this lunch bag. So I looked at her and said I'm sorry this isn't a makeup bag this is a lunch tote I put my lunch in here. I also explained to her that this same lunch tote is in the homewear area right now. Maria then said well we never had a problem with this bag or any issues. I then said well here's your first problem and issue it's broken it's poorly made. With Attitude Maria then said that she would refund my 12.99 towards today's purchases. I did let Maria know that I would be writing a review and reaching out to corporate. Her attitude is truly unacceptable when it came to a defective item. She also let me know that I was shopping at a discount store and they don't take back used items. Used and defected are two different things. I've been a retail manager for many years and I know that this is not true customer service. Marshalls store 71 needs customer service training. read more
