I love that I never leave Marshalls empty handed. Nice baby toys and books section. I saw a baby toy at Babies R Us for 14.99 earlier today and was able to find the same one Marshalls for 8.00. The store could use more staff for cleaning and organizing though, there were stuffed animals on the floor, books on shelves out of place, and opened boxes of things everywhere. read more

At least they "let" me exchange the purse I bought yesterday! Barely it took 4 eye rolls and a " next time you change your mind don't rip off the tags or loose receipt" lecture. Proceeding to be annoyed when I wanted to continue shopping after the exchange. So I didn't shop more and I would have spent another $200 at least because I need am new linens! This is a great place to shop especially for clothing. The men's section is pretty large. They even have some racks labeled for big & tall men. The store is also neat and organized. It can get pretty busy too. The line to checkout can get really long. They carry good brands such as Marc Ecko, Dereon, Rocawear, Lot 29, Junk Food, Perry Ellis, Phat Farm, Sean John, Guess, Nike, Puma, Donna Karen, Levis, Polo, Izod, and more. You just need a lot of time to shop there. read more

I had the worst experience returning an item this afternoon that I'm still upset about now well into the evening. I didn't have time to try on a white cotton tank dress while in the store so I purchased it knowing I could return it if it didn't fit. Unfortunately it didn't fit so I put it back in the bag until I could make my return. When I went to return the dress, the girl at the register called a manager to check the dress because it looked dingy. The manager told me she wouldn't be able to take my return because the dress had been worn. I was really offended because I didn't wear it at all - it didn't fit. So I asked to speak with someone who could help me resolve this so I could complete my return. Another "manager" came and gave me the same answer. I explained that this was a white dress that was on clearance; meaning it probably had been in their store for a while and had hit the floor one too many times. The fact that it was dingy was not my fault. She then asked me why I would buy it if it was dingy. It was on CLEARANCE...not that I should have to justify my purchase. If they are willing to sell the item that way then they certainly should take the return that way as well. I asked to speak with the store manager and she directed me to call the phone number on the receipt. When I asked for the name of the store manager and when she was available, she reluctantly told me she was there at the store. Why didn't she call her over when I asked for the store manager to begin with instead of directing me to call the store? Finally when the store manager came, I explained my situation for the third time. If that dress had been worn it would have been dingy on the INSIDE of the dress from wear and sweat, especially around the shoulder, neck and armpit area. Also, there would have been horizontal wrinkles in the back bottom of the dress from sitting. However, there were none, only wrinkles from it being folded when it was in the bag. Furthermore, the tag with the red clearance sticker was attached on the side of the dress, I had a receipt, and I was returning within their 30 day guideline. Finally she accepted my return but the whole experience was very negative. It is rare that I am so offended as a customer but they sure did offend, anger and upset me. I have shopped at this store many times in the past and have not had issues because I normally require no maintenance. However, I'm extremely disappointed at the sub par service I received today. read more

This review pertains to something that happened maybe a year ago - just haven't had time to write about it. What a joke a of a store, customer service wise. I bought a pair of jeans, but realized I didn't like the fit so I went to return them. The manager, often referred to as 'the old white blonde' on here, denied the return because it was supposed to have some unique tag on it. She suggested that I wore the item, and tried to return it. This, in turn, implies that I am lying. Mind you, the original Marshall's tag and everything was still on the jeans. She did not give any more explanation, and walked away. It was the first time I've ever been denied a return in my life - I was shocked. To make a long story short, I contacted the regional manager and he had to come out and correct the issue. They still did not believe me, and had to pull up video footage to prove I returned the jeans in the condition I bought them in. Not sure how that woman is still the manager - she had no people skills. Implying a customer lied, and denying a return without explaining anything. Trash organization/store. read more

The worst service and experience I've had in a department store was at this marshalls. Asked to see a manager over a return/exchange issue and the supposed manager not inly coyldnt even pretend to help she started throwing her hands up in the air literally as if we were in a tyler perry movie and basically told me to go fuck myself. Went with my mom to return a few items and then had a plan to do more shopping and spend more money. My mom had receipts for all her items, one of which was a bedspread and two men's shirts. The clerk from the get go acted like we were a bother for returning items, and just had a negative tone. Then she says she has to get her manager to approve the return because it is over $100. The manager comes over and proceeds to analyze everything that was being returned. She then comes over and tells my mom that she can't return the bedspread because it has a few hairs on it and it is not sellable now. My mom and I literally took the bedspread out, put it on her bed, decided it wasn't right, folded it, and put it back. It is definitely possible that a few hairs got on it in that time. But does that warrant not allowing the return? The manager also showed my mom and I that one of the shirts we purchased had some slight wear on the collar and therefore she couldn't accept it either. The shirt literally was tried on and removed because it didn't fit. More than likely the 'wear' was already on it when it was purchased, has this manager ever walked around and looked at the condition of some of that product in the store? We both stood there in disbelief, then gathered up our items, and walked out. My mom and I both shop at Marshall's on a regular basis and spend hundreds of dollars there. I cannot believe how poor their Customer Service is. I have never had an experience like this before. I will still continue to shop at Marshall's, but I will NEVER shop at this location again! You just do not treat your customers like this! We left feeling pretty rotten, and extremely offended, not how a fun day of shopping should be. read more

This Marshall's location is a good one indeed when it comes to inventory i'm usually one to flock to the designer handbags, the home goods, the designer contemp. once in a while i will find some lucky finds (vince, theory,c&c california, free people, marc by marc jacobs, and the best part about it is that i don't have to pay retail price, score!) the shoes are okay but i prefer Nordstrom Rack because they carry a lot better quality shoes, but the selection is decent i can say i have found a some great deals in the shoe clearance section. However....... that's about all. The entire customer service aspect of the matter is a nightmare. Today i ran in quickly to see what i could find in the handbag section i did find a lovely royal blue handbag that i had in mind as my Summer bag, i got into the line and to my dismay i found that my wallet was missing i had left it on my computer desk when paying for something online the night before. I asked the cashier if she would be able to hold it over night for me as i could not return the same day for it, i mentioned that i had left my wallet. She said no. I am a good customer, i never complain, i always return things on time without any problems and i spent a lot of money in the store. All i asked for was a bit of sympathy toward the fact that i had left my wallet at home. I asked to speak to the manager. She brought over her cash desk supervisor a young Hispanic woman with glasses. She walked over in a bad mood i could tell did not greet me positively and acted as though i was bugging her, not really listening to what i was saying, she said NO. I was so angry at that point. And finally she said she would however she could only guarantee it would be on hold until 1 pm tomorrow because that is what time she is off. In all honesty that is the worst possible customer service i have received. She rolled her eyes at me and acted as though i was asking her to move mountains. One handbag big deal! I will buy my handbag tomorrow and i will never return to this location, she was very unprofessional and didn't even give me an explanation as to why she couldn't hold it over night. And on another occasion i asked a female for help who still had her badge on and was organizing clothes, she said "IM OFF!" and ran way from me through the back sliding doors and left me hanging. Terrible customer service. I've been working in customer service for 3 years now and i know this isn't the way to treat a customer who spends money at your business, you want them to keep coming back. The customer is always right, maybe that's why i prefer Loehmanns next door because they actually cater to the customer and make the customer feel at home greeting each customer as they walk in, organizing and merchandising in a way that almost feels like a department store and executing your shopping experience with exceptional customer service at the cash desk. If you desire digging through tons of messy clothes to get lucky and receive terrible customer service as you are rung up then Marshalls at Metro Pointe is the place to be. Good luck people. read more
