If you really take the time to look for things, you will find great bargains on everything from clothes to shoes to tech accessories to kitchen gear to bedding (and so on....). I was going to buy a Sealy's 400 thread count pillow for $24.99 but instead purchased two Eddie Bauer 300 thread count pillows for $16.99. I also found a pair of cute standard size pillow cases for the pillows for $10 in the clearance section of the home goods section. They're a home-y green with little flowers. I also picked up a full/queen size microplush blanket for $19.99. I love how soft and warm this fleece blanket is! I wanted to get a glass vase for $7.00 and a couple pairs of 0.5 L beer "glasses" for $10.00 each but 1.) I couldn't carry everything and 2.) I wanted the beer glasses to be glasses, not fake glass, although they were functional and felt great in my hand. I picked up two black frames for $4.99 a piece. I haven't decided whether or not I will keep them or gift them to my mom, but I think the latter. They're simple yet elegant. I found my boyfriend some white v neck t shirts to wear under his dress shirts. Black t shirts are popular; white t shirts are harder to find. This was true here and at TJ Maxx today, but after a little searching, I found a bunch of white v neck t shirts. I ended up getting him two 3-packs for $12.99 each. For my dad, I got a pair of men's tan colored memory foam slippers for $9.99. Apparently, they are weather resistant. There were a bunch of different luxurious (translate: comfy) slippers ranging in price from $9.99 - $29.99 (I think) and in various colors. Right before lining up, I decided to check out the knick knacks in the check out area where I picked up a garlic press from Kitchen Aid for $6.99. All in all, I would say a very successful shopping trip to Marshall's. I also dig the single line, multi server queue set up. You don't necessarily get screwed here waiting in line, and I think Marshall's does a good job announcing over the PA when they need more associates at the registers. There was also a great selection of coats, active wear, and clearance items today. The store is pretty good at keeping up with seasonal needs. Unfortunately, no breakfast and a cart filled with stuff kept me from spending any more time in here today, but I'll be back, Marshall's! read more

Awful customer service. I attempted to return my shoes because 1) they were not as cute as I'd hoped 2) did not fit as well as I'd hoped. Not only did they not take my shoes but they treated me as if I was purposely returning used shoes. THEY WERE NOT USED. Awful awful customer service. My Marshall's in CA would take anything back and say sorry for the inconvenience. Now I have an awful Marshall's, shoes that I will NOT use and Marshall's probably lost the 70 bucks extra I would've spent I other items. The manager was horrible. read more

OK, I'm a total fan of this place. I like to get my clothes and other stuff cheap and my wife and I have been getting deals at Marshall's for years. We buy a lot of stuff here and at the Little River Turnpike location and have found the stores to be clean. I'm not so sure about their staff in these locations though because sometimes I feel they could do a better job helping the customers. Here is my biggest pet peeve of Marshall's that was non existent a few years ago. Who was the brainiac executive that must have been smoking crack that decided to put in the new check out system that calls the numbers. That executive (who needs a lobotomy) needs to be fired immediately. Automatic deduction of one star. Honestly, I can't complain too much about Marshall's because I find some excellent deals here. Meh: clothes (mostly poor to average quality) and shoes (incredibly limited selection). Love: the home supplies sections are filled to the brim with cheap, adorable little trinkets. The handbag section is also a good bargain - surprisingly large-ish selection of a variety of colors and styles at very acceptable price points. I probably wouldn't come here as often, though, if it weren't so close to the metro. read more

On 10/28/20 I visited Marshalls (#0556) Pentagon City. I asked DAVID to make and affix a price label to an item I wanted to purchase, per the instructions of a floor supervisor. DAVID told me that one "DOES NOT need to made and affixed because I was only buying one item and we would know it was the item." I told DAVID that such had not been the protocol/experience in any other Marshalls and made my request again. After DAVID's refusals on additional requests and his telling me he had more than 1 year experience with the store, I asked him to retrieve the store manager or the highest person in charge. DAVID refused to do so. However, the store was not busy and I was able to get April's (Asst. Mgr.) attention at the other end of the area. April told me that DAVID 1) should have made and affixed a label without my asking and 2) gotten her upon my request. While April was making the label DAVID told me to "move away from HIS register . . . move away." I reported such to April in the moment and she had him move to the other end of the cashier area. read more

Bigger and cleaner than any other Marshall's I've ever been too. The dressing rooms are CLEAN, and wonderfully lit. It has kind of a new england theme with 3 hooks... For discount shopping you have to be in the right mindset. For discount shopping when it's a tax free weekend, you have to be ready to search! I quickly glanced around the entire store and found a few pieces that I ended up going home with. Either they were wiped out from the tax free weekend or their selection is just OK. Anyway, it was a little bare shopping there. Racks were slightly empty, things weren't in the right section and there were barely any workers around. The line was very long and didn't go very quickly. Overall, I found some good things to buy for a great deal, so they get the 3 stars but that's about it. read more

This store is usually my first stop when looking for a new bag, new clothes or something else to amuse me. I've found great deals here. This is true bargain hunter territory. The bag I bought at the GW Bookstore for $38, cost $12 here. And it was a better model. It's a good thing this is a Metro ride away or I'd be over here digging for treasures every day. Some days, you win; some you don't. The only thing that is irritating is that the line at the cash register is inevitably long. And someone else may have got that last great deal. Sometimes, I still stroke my Kenneth Cole attache case + opera purse (for $39.95). Ah. Also, it would be great if this already large store were even larger. But then again, I might not ever get out of there. read more

Normally I like shopping at Marshalls, I just wouldn't recommend this location. First of all, it is always a mess. Clothes are all over the floor and not even hung on the racks. It is always extremely crowded and if you do find something to buy in the store, it takes forever to check out due to how long the line is and how slow all the cashiers are at ringing people up. I think due to the volume of people shopping at this location, there usually isn't anything good left on the racks either. At a lot of other Marshalls you can come away with good finds, but at this Marshalls I've rarely found anything. I've bought a few sets of sheets and a blanket, but hardly any clothes from this location. read more

And Prices were perfect, I wasn't gonna spend alot on this team only past season. So you have to pick up a phone on the wall to go to the bathroom, and it calls an employee to enter the code on the door. You have to wait for someone else to walk all the way there no matter how bad you have to go. The woman there enters it, I walk in sit down, and I'm on the toilet for a minute or two, before an employee knocks, opens the door, somehow didn't here me say "I'm in here", and she sees me mid-crap, along with the customer that wanted to get in. This marshals is definitely hit or miss because of the volume of people. Generally the shelves are messy and it's pretty small and the lines are long. It is conveniently located so great for tourists to get last minute items. read more

What is happening in this store? Shoe section is a mess. Bag selection is terrible. Clothes selection isn't too bad, but I rarely find anything here worth my dollars. It's competition is Nordstrom Rack across the way, and it seems like Marshall's might want to, I don't know, try to compete merchandise wise with them? There are a lot of nutty people everywhere now. I went into marshal's pentagon city the other day, to see if there was anything interesting. I found a trinket and went to pay for it. As usual, I used my discount card issued by the company for spouses. The sales lady named Martha asked if I was an employee? I said "no, my wife is". She immediately started telling me that I could not use the card unless my wife was there. I told her that is not policy. She then humiliated me by saying, "i will do it this time, but if you come back without her I will have to confiscate it". I told her she will do it this time and every time. On my way out I politely called my wife and presented it to their management team. These policy documents are on my wife's desk at the house. I have not been back to that store since. I am still traumatized. Lol. I have spent $500 at Wayfair.com and another $100 at tjmaxx behind the mall. NEVER asked for identification. read more

If you like saving money, get yourself to Pentagon City and check out this Marshalls. I really think it is one of the better Marshalls in the DC area, and I've gotten dozens of deals here over the last six years. Unlike many Marshalls and TJ Maxxes, this still has a large men's section: you can find cheap shirts, cheap pants, cheap athletic wear, cheap suits, cheap belts, cheap wallets, cheap ties, cheap athletic and dress socks, the list goes on. And by cheap I mean low-priced: while some items are low quality, it is not uncommon to find high quality items here at a steep discount. The women's section of course is very large as well, larger than the men's sections as is typical for a store of this kind. There is a large home goods section in the back with luggage, lamps, rugs, salt and pepper shakers, kitchen kitsch, etc. There is a very large shoe section with men and women's shoes, athletic and dress shoes. The entire store is very clean (including the fitting rooms), which is impressive for a store that gets as much foot traffic as this one does. As always, remember that stores like Marshalls have a very irregular inventory: they might not always have what you are looking for, and they might have an amazing deal on something you are not looking for. Part of the fun of places like this is seeing what bargains you might find. You gotta walk into Marshalls with an open mind to get the best Marshalls experience. read more

One of my Favorite places to shop...I was able to grab everything I needed for my daughter 5k run...and I found a cute pair of guess shoes for $25 dollar..the only reason why I give them four stars is because they are building a parking garage and the parking area is so congested...but other than that customer service is always good.... read more

A friend told me her experience there and I was shocked. It was the worst customer service I've ever heard. My friend, a good kid once bought shoes there and they were broken in 4 days. She decided to return and was literally insulted by the "manager", a very unfriendly ... lady. Maybe she got promoted to manager by insulting customers who are not satisfied with the goods and services. Good job Marshall! read more

If you expect customer service you're coming to the wrong store! The staff is very rude. I would rather pay more at Macy's and Nordstrom than ever go here again. It's not worth the trouble. Majority of the time the dressing room are not clean. There were open safety pins in my dressing room. If I had stepped on a safety pin, I would've had a lawsuit. Then the dressing room attendant was rude and got loud with me in front of other customers. Oh and by the way, they will not discount stained clothing if it's machine washable. I've worked in retail before, and this is not the way a store should operate. Remember the old saying, "you get what you pay for" I didn't know they were referring to Pentagon City Marshalls' Customer Service as well. I will not be coming back. I love Marshalls, but NOT THIS ONE!!! Clothes selection is poor, displays are even worse. Lots of shoes on display but NOT a good selection of sizes. Always looks messy and disorganized, there doesn't seem to any rhyme or reason to where stuff is placed, especially clothes. The Pentagon City location has the BEST merchandise! I have purchased Kate Spade bedding, purses, plates, frames, and shoes here. My fiance has purchased a ton of Rag and Bone (including a cashmere coat) and several European designer apparel (Gucci, Dolce and Gabbana). Obviously, the prices are still a bit steep, but way better than full price. They do have layaway to help out with the cost. The Home section is decent. We have purchased gourmet food and kitchen items here. It's worth it to circle the whole store. They have good deals on shoes, especially clearance items. Great Christmas selection (Christopher Radko and Annalee dolls). The men's section is by far better than the women's if you are looking for designer clothing. I have not seen Gucci or Kate Spade clothing for women. The higher end clothing is in the front (for men and women). The higher end home items and shoes are right when you walk in. Complaints: horrible layaway! There is always a huge line and the manager refuses to put another person back there. They won't put small house items on layaway, only clothes, shoes, and bags. The line to purchase is always long. This place is always busy, unless you get there right when it opens or are there during the day during the week. The staff at times isn't very helpful. read more

I would like to note most of the staff is helpful and pleasant. The inventory is well kept. However, I just left the store after being astonished at their version of customer service. I tried on a coat, after re organizing their poorly put together display by size. I asked an attendee if she would be there a moment so I could go grab a cart. When I returned the coat was nowhere to be found. After spending several hundred dollars, and waiting in line, I saw a staff member with the same coat I had requested be held. The staff member took the remaining two coats in both sizes, and then said she was putting them on hold for herself to try and I could "come back tomorrow if they didn't work out." I remember working retail, one of the only perks is the store discount. I don't begrudge anyone that. However, when the store is still open, and a customer is more than willing and in fact requesting to purchase an item it's INSANE to suggest they take time off from their work and see if a staff member decided to take a pass. After her flippant, rude, and entitled attitude I will not return. Sorry folks your savings isn't worth me putting up with your deplorable staff. read more
