This is probably one or my favorite restaurant in town. I love the lamb chops and the humus with the Mediterranean bread. People here are amazing. The only problem is that some or the seating are not comfortable but you will pass that after you eat the humus. Also you should try some desserts. read more

Sooo good! This just became my new favorite restaurant in Jax. I ordered grape leaves & the Sheesh platter (lunch menu). The grape leaves were some of the best I've ever had - very flavorful!! The Sheesh (beef tenderloin) was so tender, & again, everything was very flavorful. Very impressed with the overall quality/taste of the food, as well as the atmosphere. The atmosphere was on point, service was friendly, the food was amazing. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I think the bathrooms were very dingy and the place could have been a bit cleaner. We would definitely come back and would recommend this place to friends & family. My Meal: I just had water to drink.. but they serve it with a fresh mint leaf. We had the super-sized falafels for an appetizer... there were only 3 on the plate but they are big and super filling. They were moist and tender on the inside and chocked full of deliciousness! I ordered the Couscous dinner entree with chicken as my meat choice. It comes with a side salad of choice and the dish itself was a very large portion. I was able to eat a nice serving of dinner and will be able to eat 1-2 more times from my leftovers. The couscous dish is layered... so the couscous is on the bottom and it's covered in a delicious smelling mixture of vegetables and sauce with the chicken. Everything was perfectly cooked and spiced. The veggies melt in your mouth and the chicken has a smoky kabob-cooked taste to it. My husband tried my dish and said he's getting that next time he stops here. We also had a dessert that was on the house, I don't know what it was... but it was made of crispy and flaky layers and had cinnamon and pecans.. to die for! read more

Best restaurant in the area. My father is Arabic and the food here is reminiscent of my childhood. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I come here once a week with friends and trying to sample everything on menu. The mussaka is on point, the falafel is fresh, and the kabobs are always cooked perfectly. I'm a meat guy but I always start my meal with the veggie sampler appetizer, usually with the hummus, Baba ganoush, falafel, and dolmades (stuffed grape leaves). It's a great way for me to get my buddies to try some new food not fried or served in a bun or tortilla. TIP: get a bunch of sauce with your meal. Ask for tzatziki and garlic sauce and put that shit on everything, especially the rice. If you've never had lamb or Arabic food before, go give these guys your business. It's family owned an operated, and you can tell they give a damn. I feel it's my civil duty to get you guys in the doors of this place. Get over there. read more

So yummy! The service was excellent despite having only two servers and the A/C being out. My husband ordered the three meat dish (salmon, shawarma, and a beef I think) and it was quite good. I ordered the chicken shawarma which came with yellow rice. The dish was very flavorful and not too over seasoned; the only issue was that the chicken was a bit dry. The salmon was my favorite, so delicious and bursting with subtle spices and flavors. We will definitely be back. read more

I stopped in here because I'd driven by a few times and was interested to see what new cuisine was in Jacksonville. I'm a fan of diversity, and I was glad to see something besides a chain restaurant or Mexican here in town. Turkish foods happens to be one of my favorite things to dine on. I. Love. Turkish. Food. This place did not disappoint. The dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) were amazing. I had the chicken kabob, and we also tried to Kefta kabob. Both were amazing. Came into the restaurant with a group of friends. The service was awesome, quick, and it is also a fun atmosphere. Since then I have sadly not been able to dine in (small children) but we do take out all the time. Every once in a while I bring my son (4yrs old) in to help with the food and the staff goes out of there way to talk to him and make him laugh. They are always very welcoming and friendly. The food is absolutely amazing, and the portions are just perfect. I usually have enough left over for one or two lunches. I really wish they would open up their own pizza place. Their kids pizza is some of the best Pizza I have ever had. My husband and I order two of them, one for us and one for the kids because it is so good! Long story short, you will not be disappointed. If you are unfortunate enough to be stuck in Jacksonville, at least be happy about having an awesome Mediterranean restaurant here. My wife and I drive up here just to eat here. They are experts in their craft and I haven't had a single item that wasn't good. They also have an open kitchen so you can watch your meat cook while you wait. All the prices are awesome and the service is great. If you don't like this place then don't eat Mediterranean anywhere, as you probably don't like it. Fantastic place. Appetizers were great. My entree was magluba. It was described as a casserole. What I got was a mushy rice mound that had been shaped by some bowl. It was rather bland and the chicken was extremely dry. It was obviously just mixed in based on what protein you ordered. That's fine but I expect it to be well cooked. Lots of salads to choose from. Very different of a place. I have never ate this kind of food before but it was good. The meat was very flavorful and the hot chai tea was out of this world. I couldnt believe i saw drake in the kitchen cooking! i was like YOLO!!! YOLO!!! and he just looked up and smiled at me. The salads were a bit weird, not like your normal leaf salad. I got the beef kabob it was good. The appetizer had somethings that looked like cat turds, but they were some leafs wrapped around some rice. Over all I would eat here again. There isn't much cultural variety in the greater Jacksonville food scene, so if you're craving something a little different than the typical American chain restaurant fare, this place is worth checking out. When we went they were very busy and though we were seated immediately, it became apparent after 15min that they had forgotten about us. Usually, this type of oversight prompts me to write a less than favorable review, no one likes to be kept waiting forever, but once they realized we had been waiting for a while without any attention they were extremely apologetic, comped our drinks and brought our whole table free dessert after the meal; the manager apologized personally. They cared enough about their customers to assure that we had a positive experience. The food was very good, I couldn't find fault with anything and they have a children's menu that offers a cheese pizza that is easily large enough to feed two kids.i would definitely recommend eating here. read more

Marrakesh just catered my wedding and I am very pleased with the results. Adam, the owner, was wonderful to work with, gave us good suggestions, and was very flexible. His son delivered the food to Emerald Isle on time and the set up was wonderful. My wedding planner was very happy with the amount of food and with working with them. Now on to the food. Everything we had was amazing. They have some of the best falafel I have ever had. The tahini salad is amazing as is the hummus. However, what really blew my mind was their veggie kebabs. I think Adam said he makes his own charcoal or uses a particular kind. Whatever he does, these were the best roasted veggies I have ever had. I live in New York and was visiting Emerald Isle so we drove to Jacksonville for the mall and other errands and I being a Culinary Institute of America graduate needed to find something fabulous especially dealing with the bland food on the island itself!!! This place is a must go! Great portions! Hummus is a must! All the salads were amazing, bright, and flavorful! Decor and music is spot on.
