My partner and I wanted to try something new in town for brunch and we're so glad we chose Chicano! Super cute interior, good service and GREAT food. Chips and salsa with queso were so fresh! Loved them. Everything ordered was fresh and exactly as hoped for. Definitely had to take half of my breakfast burrito home. The mimosa and Bloody Mary was a good treat for us as well. read more

I have since been back a couple more times due to location and the service has improved and the food does seem to be better.

Such a great spot with good food, tasty drinks and really fun vibes! We came in on a Wednesday night for a girls' Galentine's dinner and the restaurant was beautifully decorated. There's a decent sized bar and lots of seating all over. I had a mojito from their Valentine's Day drink specials and a house strawberry Margarita - both were generous sizes and tasted amazing. I also ordered the Chicano bowl and it was also really good. I already can't wait to come back for more. read more

Best place to eat in the area. Regardless of how busy they are we waited less than 10 min for a table and the food was amazing. The servers were attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and substitutions. read more

Stopped in one Friday evening for date night, was not disappointed. The menu offers a fusion of brunch and dinner options for whatever your craving may be! I personally love this as I am a fan of protein options and love a good breakfast for dinner! The vibe is 100% chicano, full of sick pictures of low riders, a few murals and hanging plants setting the vibe. The staff seem to love their jobs as much as we loved the food. Food comes out fast, hot, and delish. I HIGHLY recommend the raspberry margarita if that's your drink. The flavor profile is delightful and fresh, far from sugary and fake like others in the area. We also got different tacos and a cheeto hot dog. Delish. Def our default date night spot. Me encanta!! read more

I'm so glad I gave this place a try. The decor is so beautiful. Loved the wall art and that they have a pool table. I tasted the birria egg rolls, and def recommend it. The Chicano Street Tacos was delicious, the steak was very tender. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely come back when in town. I see why so many of my friends recommended it. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Here is what we liked: * Immediate seating , with low top, high top and seats at the bar. * Chips and queso was good. *While the waiter was a Cowboys fan, he was absolutely genuine. Seemed like a cool guy. *The vibe for this place is cool, not your typical Mexican joint. * The breakfast Burrito was big and said it tasted good. Here's what could have been better. * Sorry, but bring some chips and salsa. A Mexican restaurant will always get makes if they don't . Heck, even our local place brings them but for a small fee. * The margarita was just eh. I love a good margarita, this wasn't it. * No sides, no beans or rice with your entrees? * The queso birria tacos were just lame. Didn't have much flavor and the queso was nowhere to be found. Just underwhelmed. Overall for the price, I didn't find it to be a place that was impressive. read more

Chicano Street Kitchen - The Chilaquiles Verdes had no business being this good lol - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Jacksonville, North Carolina

This establishment opened October of 2024. For a restaurant that plans on being open on major holidays or events , they did not plan or coordinate well. For Mother's Day 2025 they did not have enough staff to service their dining room , tables wait uncleaned for 10-15 min after customers paid their bill and left. They did not have a greeter to take your parties information , it was whatever waiter was available which led to parties being told different wait times. On party was told 20 minutes for them to be seated but that was an 1 hour ago. I under stand holidays and special occasion days get busy, but this is where the manager or assistant manger need to be present on the floor and the staff have clear and defined roles on what they are expected to do to have a good services for both the employees and customers. Watched tables get cleaned at 11:45 no one was seat for a while and the host/ hostess was calling names from his list that were no longer here , was not organized or had control of the floor. Servers bouncing between serving food and playing bartender. No clear , defined roles and responsibilities for the staff. read more

They have a large, varied menu to choose from. I had the Jokers Torta. It was huge, the bread and meat were very tasty. The bottom layer became too soggy to finish. The fries are crisp, no condiments required. The other ladies were very happy with their tacos, and pancake dishes. The service was timely and prices are good. If I could have taken a 1/2 point off, I would have because of the soggy bread. Otherwise, they're a 5 and I'll go back and try something different. read more

I am obsessed with this restaurant. It is so clean and inviting. The server and hostess were very polite and friendly. Our server was friendly and very personable. We didn't catch his name but he was the only male server on 3/8/25 @ 12pm! He made sure our table did not need for anything. My son and I had the Noel's Burrito, it reminded me of a Cali Burrito, that burrito was AMAZING! My husband had the Cholo Burger and he demolished that. My daughter had the Grandmas Tacos, she loved it. My youngest son had the Cheeseburger and fries and he loved that as well. We took home the Churro Bites (Get the Mexican Caramel with this) and Churro Cheesecake. This is going to be our new favorite spot! I loved the environment, food and service. If you are in the Jacksonville, NC area, please go here!!! It's amazing! read more

Food was warm, not hot. The beans looked like they sat under the warming light too long. Service was good. They allowed kids to run around like it was a play ground, kids playing on the pool table and no one would tell them to stop. Very noisy. read more

I've been wanting to try Chicano Street Kitchen for a while and with my bestie in town, today was the perfect day! The waitress was friendly and attentive, the decor was fun and inviting, especially the murals. I was conflicted whether breakfast or dinner was the way to go, but I chose breakfast and I am so glad I did!! I ordered the Cajeta pancakes because their waffle maker was on the Fritz, and I had a hankering for something sweet. The bananas on the pancakes were fresh and not the least bit brown, the Mexican caramel was literally the best caramel I've ever had, and the pancakes! OMG!! They were griddled and crispy and with all the flavors from the toppings on the pancake was next level, not too sweet and paired with the crispy bacon and over medium eggs, the perfect plate of goodness. I'll definitely be back for some birria soon!! Or more pancakes!! Or just more of everything on the menu!! read more

Four stars for the friendly staff, three stars for the food, it was ok, not great, not bad. Two stars for the dining room which needs a makeover. One star for the loudness, slow service and of the six TVs only one was working, the rest were on a menu screen. Parking is a short walk away, which is fine. The Latin themed brunch serves breakfast all day. We waited awhile for a table then sat ourselves at the bar which serves the full menu. I collected menus from an empty table and we were ready to order right away. Drinks came quickly and it's always enjoyable to watch bartenders work so the time passed a tad less slowly. It was super loud, too loud to talk and when we spoke to staff who were always nice you had to yell at them and they had to yell back. It took almost an hour for our two breakfast burritos to come out. Really does it take almost an hour to make two breakfast burritos at a breakfast only restaurant? We ordered their mini churros at the end which did come out in a timely way, only they were over cooked and hard, almost burnt. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, it seemed to be popular with a steady turnover of customers. read more

Came with hubby for a meal and got whole lot more.. we have bad habit of over ordering food so we can try few things and today was no different.. our server was very nice and since we are new kinda guided us around menu. She checked on us frequently but didn't smother. The restaurant was tastefully decorated and comfortable but I must say the metal chairs are anything but lol.. I hope eventually they get better chairs but that wouldn't stop me from coming. We ordered some delish nachos and of course some street corn.. both yummy but my god you could just eat those and call yourself full! I ordered a pain killer cocktail and it was not too strong but very yummy lol.. our meals came out hot and delicious.. I got tacos either meat and egg which was different than anything I'd seen before but it was really good I'd order it again for sure.. there's many yummy items on the menu and I'll have to come again do I can try some more! A very welcomed new spot added to our growing downtown area and I'm happy to have this place as a new option read more

Literally the best Mexican brunch/dinner spot in Jacksonville, NC! Absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. I've already gone twice and the waitresses are so kind and sweet; the restaurant was definitely a mix with the Plaza de Mariachi restaurant here in Jacksonville and First Watch restaurant which are also my favorite restaurants. Okay. This place is really great. The outside is a little confusing because the parking is shared with the Onslow County Sheriff's Office, so you may have to park a little further back in the lot or on the street down the road, if there's a specified parking lot then I apologize because I 100% missed it lol. The inside is set up nice and open, doesn't feel crowded. I WISH I GOT A PHOTO OF THE FOOD THE 4 OF US ORDERED. It was so good, and the portions are pretty big which is wonderful for the prices. The staff was nice as and attentive as well! 10/10 recommend, will absolutely be returning. read more

The service is poor. My wife, daughter and I waited for 30 minutes after being seated and nobody ever came to take our drink order, food order, or acknowledged us in general. I have eaten here with a large party and the food and drinks were good but waiting 30 minutes and not even being acknowledged will likely keep me from returning. read more

Food was very tasty. Full bar with all the good Mexican beers on tap. Atmosphere was kind of all over the place. The pool table and couches in the corner which was a nice touch. The DJ was only playing records which is fine but the music didn't match the setting and had a limited music he could play. Overall I would recommend, and I'll be going back to try different dishes. This place has tons of potential, hopefully it sticks. read more
