Love this place!!! My husband and I discovered Spiaggia when we first moved to the area and it has become our favorite go to neighborhood restaurant. The ambience is so cute and inviting, and the food is delish! My favorite thing now is their girls' night on Monday nights. There is always a yummy special dish and it's a great way to start the week. We especially love the bartender, Makana, as she goes out of her way to make us feel appreciated. She always has a smile for everyone, knows what her customers drink, and definitely goes the extra mile (even when she is slammed!) to make sure everyone is taken care of. Awful bar pizza. Legitimately bad. Ordered six pizzas, only two (cheese and cheese + sausage) were passable. The other four (especially the Prosciutto) were terrible. I love prosciutto on pizza and this was just thrown on top and was basically in spoiled, inedible shape when we opened the box. Whole pizza went in the trash. What threw us off further was that this looked like Neapolitan or at least wood-fired pizza on Ristobar's website. It's nowhere close. Even the crust was bad. Two stars and not one because the Caesar salad was OK. Won't return. read more

I love this place! Never a bad thing on menu and staff is very nice and helpful . Tonight I had veal parm and I'm super picky! Cooked to perfection as was the pasta! It was a great date night.. it was a little loud but that's everyone enjoying the food and the place so I had no problem with that at all!! Spiaggia is simply a terrific spot in what has been an otherwise lackluster area when it comes to formal dinning options. The restaurant is a comfortable blend of recently renovated settings and an appealing bar that has a good stock of liquor options and wine pairings. Tables are well spaced and well sized for all party sizes. The out door areas are very nice with optimal lighting throughout the entire establishment. The food is delicious to be blunt. The pastas are made with a blend of all kinds of tasty spices and ingredients. And the pizzas are outstanding and made with fresh and flavorful toppings and add-ons. Staff are so so friendly and are quick to check on customers throughout the whole meal. They make sound recommendations and are alternative to the needs of those whom they wait on. The ambience is soothing with low but adequate lighting and music that fits the mood. This was my second time here on a Saturday night. It was a a bit busy but was able to get a high table right away. We started off with some drinks and appetizers. We had the calamari and mozzarella fritti with an Espresso Martini and The Hot spot! Drinks were good and appetizers just right! For dinner I had the Chicken Picatta with roasted potatoes and green beans, husband had the roasted garlic cream with shrimp and our youngest had the kids pepperoni pizza! Delicious!!! The flavors of lemon sauce did not over power the chicken. My husband and daughter kept trying to take my food. My husband loved his as well and wished he had bread to dip into his cream! My daughter's pizza was great! Yes, we had a taste of her pizza and it was delicious! We ended with the peach cobbler and cannoli bambino! I did mention to the waitress that I'm picky with my cannoli! It was ok and our preference for the cobbler just wish the crust was a bit more crispy but over all it was good. I was invited to Spiaggia Ristobar for my birthday! First impressions were it's sterile and LOUD. However, the food and service won me over! I ordered the "Cooler Than" tequila drink off the cocktail menu which was delicious! Fried mozzarella and a few other apps were ordered for the table. They were ok. My entrée was the chicken francaise which was heaven with my first bite! The dish had 2 large portions of chicken and green beans and some potatoes all in a delicious sauce! Second round with the whole family and we weren't disappointed, ordered the mozzarella fritti, Arancini Siciliano, and the Garlic Bread Focaccia. I could not get over how good this bread was, I'm so glad i ordered it too!!! For our mains, we had kids pizza, lobster ravioli and chicken parm. Toasted a night out with an old fashion. We opted for outdoor seating again and the weather was perfect for a night out with our kids, finishing the evening the lights came on as the sun started setting just beautifully. I am literally craving the meatballs as I write this review so excuse the drool LOL. First we started at the bar it was super packed. First good sign! The drinks were fantastic! We had the Amelia's. Highly recommend. While we waited for our table we ordered the meatballs and soooo good. I'm pretty sure we would've licked the bowl clean had we been anywhere else. LOL. Yesterday was my first visit and I was looking forward to trying out the newest member of the Sneads Ferry neighborhood. The place looked more like a coastal seafood restaurant rather than an Italian ristorante. I did not order any wine since the selection of wine by the glass was quite limited. My server did not question it or did not try to suggest anything. I just opted for a glass of water with lemon. (It was served in a tall blue plastic cup.) There were no tablecloths or placemats but rolled-up silverware in cloth napkins. My server was confused when I greeted her in Italian. A simple greeting like Buona Sera is something that isn't all that hard to learn. I didn't mind educating her, but she looked annoyed. I ordered the Spinach salad with the fried goat cheese and I made it a point to tell her I wanted that served first. I also ordered the Grandma Margherita Pizza. My salad was so very yummy but there wasn't enough of the orange slices to the ratio of the spinach. There were 3 of the fried goat cheese slices and I wish there were more of those but I get it. It's always about food costs. I asked my server if I could have some more orange slices and she happily obliged. I have never been a big fan of spinach by itself. Then my pizza finally came out. I decided to test my server again by asking her why the pizza was square. She gave some random answer but I asked her if she would ask the chef and it was the same answer she gave which was the wrong one. The pizza was good but I only ate half and took the other half home along with a piece of Tiramisu. When it was time for the check I asked about a military discount and as informed they do not. I paid my check tableside, packed up my food, and left. I tried the Tiramisu when I got home and I was disappointed. It has too much creme, not any mascarpone cheese, and not enough of the ladyfingers/espresso combo that should serve as the layer in between. It was an average experience but I hope they improve with time. read more

Soooo good! Even just the smell walking in is amazing. Service is friendly and quick, lots of indoor seating, and a full bar (and it's huge!). They have draft beers, wines, and cocktails. They have a whole array of appetizers, soups, salads, and entrees. Everything we ordered was delicious. The calamari is worth getting, and I highly recommend the pizza! But you really can't go wrong with anything here! read more

The food here is genuinely very good but the service at the bar completely ruins the experience. The bartender was rude and aggressive from the moment we sat down, making it unpleasant to even place an order. This is not just a one time experience. If you talk to others who have sat at the bar and had bad service they will likely be able to describe her right away. It is a recurring problem that clearly has not been addressed by the owners. One example is when we ordered the focaccia and she told us they were out. Minutes later we saw bread being served to other tables. Instead of guiding us to the house bread which is literally the same focaccia without the garlic sauce she just repeated that they were out. It was dismissive and unhelpful especially given how easy it would have been to offer an alternative. At one point I was so uncomfortable with her attitude that I asked a bus boy for a fork instead of the bartender. The fact that this kind of behavior has been going on for so long without any action from management is unacceptable. If the owners care about their customers and the reputation of their business they need to address it immediately and frankly they need to fire her. read more

Absolutely incredible! The food was authentic, flavorful and cooked perfectly. I had the eggplant parmigiana and it was the best I've ever had, our table also had Grandma's Margarita Pizza, Calamari, Pepperoni Pizza and Spaghetti & Meatballs; all mouthwatering delicious. The desserts are Homemade and crave worthy! We had Cheesecake with Berry preserves on top & Cannoli's (also the best we've ever had). Our server Sean was top notch! He helped us select our menu options, graciously answered all our questions and definitely added to our experience. The atmosphere is elegant, modern yet fun! Dear Owner, you have a great restaurant but you have some issues that need to be addressed so that you can have an OUTSTANDING restaurant. These are my observations while dining at your bar a dozen times while on work assignment out of state: 1. Bar top is consistently dirty and not being properly wiped down between guests. 2. Floor underneath bar is consistently dirty. This should be swept on the regular. 3. Bar chairs are consistently dirty and filled with crumbs in between seat and panels. 4. I've watched staff clean tables, wipe food on to the ground and then seat guests with the previous guest's food underneath their table. 5. The menus are more often than not filthy. 6. Unfortunately, you have a lot of staff standing around doing nothing. Either they haven't been trained properly in sanitation or it's laziness. A lot of congregating, head in the clouds kinda attitude. 7. You're charging $12 per martini in a 10oz glass but there's a good 1.25" from the top that's empty. Food and service is consistent. I wouldn't be back as many times as I have if it wasn't. The golden rule in your business: hands in/hands out. Your restaurant has the potential of being outstanding. And if I didn't care, I wouldn't be writing this review. Good luck to you! read more

I think this was a great addition to a sneads ferry restaurant! The inside is very cute. My friends and I came in on Monday around 5:30 pm. We were able to get a seat right away. Decor is very coastal Italian vibes. The workers were all very nice but kinda slightly scatterbrained. The menu has lots of pastas and pizzas. I ordered a beef and pasta meal. It was very yummy! I thought the portions were very good and prices were fair. We ordered the bread to split too and that was yummy. We had our first dinner at Spiaggia on our vaca and honestly it spoiled us. First, it's NOT a junky beach restaurant. Think up scale vibe, you will fit in if you dress up a little or stay casual. We were greeted and seated immediately. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was so incredibly wonderful. The only small issue is the acoustics. The back room had a large party with VERY unruly children who screeched loudly, on multiple occasions. And the reverb from the ear piercing screams was intensely painful to hear. The staff apologized several times but they can't make parents be good parents. (The whole place nearly gave a standing ovation when they began to leave.) Excellent food. We have only tried this once but we will definitely be back. The mussels app was great and was in a delicious butter. I had the pasta with Italian sausage and vodka sauce. I couldn't finish it all but it was even better heated up the next day somehow. The only small issue is that it's totally open so it gets very loud since it gets very busy. Absolutely fantastic! We live in the area and come here at least once a week. We have tried quite a few dishes, but I have settled on a couple favorites. The veal Marsala is absolutely fantastic. Very generous portion and cooked to perfection. The presentation is phenomenal. The salmon Positano is also a winner. The salmon is so flavorful. I adore the sauce. If you like garlic, this is your dish! The service is normally very good unless you come on a Friday or Saturday night in season. Well, we usually have good service, this past Friday night the bar just was not on it. We still had a great meal, but it was chaotic. It took a while to get a glass of wine let alone a menu. Also, I won't eat in the dining room, only the bar because the chairs in the dining room are terrible. They are not made for sitting for extended periods of time. The bar has nice plush chairs. The only other suggestion I would make is that the restaurant needs purse hooks under the bar. There's no place to put your purse. Other than that, this place is just the best. I am so glad we have it so close by. It's a real treasure in our small town. read more

We had six people in a party, and they sat us outside at a fourteen top, that was uncovered, and not at the six top that was empty, and stayed empty the entire time we were there, and covered. Utensils were dirty and had food residue on them. Drinks took forever to come out, and one glass was broken and glued back together. We've been here a couple times when they first opened and for one reason or another, we haven't really come back. However, today was a whole different experience. Tonight, I have had the pleasure of the very best meal I have ever had in Snead Ferry. We order the focaccia bread and goat cheese dip appetizer. Along with the lemon Panko encrusted salmon special. It came with a red skin potato (with the goat cheese sauce on top) and green beans with large garlic slices on top. Perfectly charred. It was a true exceptional flavor experience. I don't know how long they're running this special but you better grab it when you can or find out when they're making it next!!! because words cannot explain how happy you'll be. Oh, my husband got the gnocchi Bolognese. Lol But he can write his own review lol I did taste it. It was delicious, but I gotta give five stars to the delight that I experienced tonight.!!!!! * we took two tiramisu's home , real tiramisu!!!! the kind with lady fingers. First I need to state that I have eaten here several times before deciding on what to put in this review. So this is a combination of experiences for the sake of understanding the restaurant rather than just a one time visit. The food is delicious - though I have had one dish - the chicken Marsala - was very disappointing. The dredge on the chicken was WAY TOO PEPPERY. I don't know if this was a mistake - but I haven't tried another chicken dish since. Also, the Marsala sauce was probably a pre-made Campbells Soup restaurant version. It had no taste of Marsala wine and generally was not good. The carbonara is a must!! Loaded with either pancetta or bacon or prosciutto chunks and onions. A must try. The spaghetti and clams was on-point. Delicious and creamy from the emulsion that's formed from tossing the spaghetti in a pan. The meatballs, calamari, fried mozzarella and rice balls - are all delicious! The focaccia bread appetizer was to die for. However, the Sicilian pizza - needs a lot of work and should be avoided unless you have a good dental plan. The rest of the pizza - absolutely wonderful! The service and ambiance has been just wonderful all our visits. One pet peeve with the restaurant I have is that all pasta is served out of these small cereal bowls. Spiaggia - give me a regular plate!! Stop with these children's bowls. Very inelegant. Feels cheap. Speaking of cheap... another minor issue is the small servings of pasta. For an item that is $1.50 a pound they can afford a far larger portion than what they give. People love taking home leftovers. The prices? A little high. We usually pay less for more in Wilmington but this is a huge step up for this little town. In short - this is by far one of the best restaurants in the area!!!
