I've been traveling here to Jacksonville, NC frequently over the past 5 years and this is bar none the best restaurant I have found here. Price is right, service is awesome and the food is the freshest and tastiest around. I am 49 years old and this place easily rates in the top 30% of restaurants I have been to in my life. My husband and I are new to the area so we have been trying to find new mom and pop places to eat while out in town. Randomly chose this place because of our dietary restrictions. On the outside it doesn't look like much, but on the inside it's very unique and cozy. We were greeted & seating right away. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and upbeat. The stuffed grape leaves, the swarma, the hummus, the falafel, the kebobs... all of it is delicious!! There are a few different types of salads offered with your entrée. I could never remember which one I ordered the last time so I think I've tried them all. Their cocktails are inventive and delicious. The servers are either really attentive and informative or completely indifferent and hard to find. Smelled so good as we walked in. Mint tea (unsweetened) was good. My husband liked the sweet mint tea as well. Stuffed grape leaves were good! Our waitress was nice, attentive and helpful with explaining dishes. The tzatziki sauce is one of the best I've ever had with a good garlicky taste. I had taken a friend here for her birthday and I had a coupon for buy one lunch get another lunch entree free, couldn't beat that! The staff was very nice and welcoming. It was our first time at this place and the seating was comfortable, it was well decorated. Now onto the food! To start we got the mint teas, oh these are so good! Our lunch entrees were cooked to perfection! I got the chicken shawrma and she got the kefta kabob. We ended up asking for two plates so we could share our food. And we had plenty to take home. The servings are the same as if you ordered a dinner plate. I've been back twice, once with my husband for my birthday, and another with my kids just because. This place is a gem in jville! Beef kabobs were tender and mouth watering! My husband had the 3 meat dinner with chicken, steak and beef kabobs- AWESOME! First time visiting this authentic Mediterranean cuisine spot and absolutely loved it!!! I ate ALL of my food before taking the picture because 1) I was sooo excited and 2) it was delicious!! I ordered the Lamb Chops and they were seasoned perfect, grilled perfectly, and you get a good portion size of 4 pieces with the meal. It was excellent, quick service and excellent customer service. The meal also came with a choice of salad. I had the Greek salad and it was a great portion size. The dressing was perfect and served with fresh pita points. The portion sizes were on point. One year later, and we couldn't wait to get back here... unfortunately, it was not nearly as good as last year, when we made all kinds of excuses to drive back over and over again from Emerald Isle. Pluses - the hummus was really good, the wait staff is still as friendly as ever, and the minty tea is also still great. But our favorite -- the baba ghanouj -- was entirely missing that lovely and distinctive smokiness; and the falafel were overcooked almost to the point of being bitter and were very dry. Perhaps the normal cook was not on duty or was just having a bad day, but consistency is really important and expected to maintain a 4 or 5 star rating, in our book. read more

I have been coming for several years, but tonight was the worst meal. I would not recommend the salmon kabob.

This is a stand out restaurant for the area. This is where we come when we are tired of the standard chain food fair that you find up and down Western boulevard. We've tried so many local restaurants and been massively disappointed by all except this place. Friendly service and great food. We recommend the appetizer platter, specialty drinks and teas, and all the salads. The pita and hummus are freshly made. I could eat endless amounts of just this. Some of the meat can be too well done for my preference, but nonetheless it is tasty thanks to their marinades and seasonings. My children enjoy the belly dancing and henna artist that come once a month, so we try to call ahead and find out what night they will be there. Belly dancing nights are a little loud, so if you're looking for a quiet date night come on a different night. read more
