Offer decent cleaning services. Can be pricey sometimes but ok. Never had an issue with them

On August 5th I decided to take down the curtains and sheers from our living room windows to clean them. My husband read the tag on the curtains and told me they were dry clean only and suggested that we do it right and take them to the cleaners. So, we took them to Marlton Cleaners in Upper Marlboro. I told the lady I wanted the six curtains cleaned. I had to pay $120.60 up front. We went back on the pick up date--Thursday the 11th. We took them home and put one set up on one window. (I had already washed the sheers and put them back up.) I stepped back to look at them and freaked out. The curtains were now six inches shorter than they used to be! I found a picture from Christmas that showed the bottom of the curtains on the same window. I took pictures of the now shorter curtains on that window. (Pictures are below.) I then took my iPad down to the cleaners and showed the pictures to the lady, who doesn't speak English very well. I prayed before going in and was determined to be nice. After showing the pictures to the lady, I determined that she seemed to be blaming the heat from dry cleaning for the shrinkage. I also determined that she said they don't like doing "home" things because of these situations. She then suggested that I bring them back so she could try to fix them. Still being nice, I went home and brought the two panels back that we had hung up. Listening to her, I figured out that her idea was to take out the hem and then stretch (that's what she said, "stretch"!) the material (100 percent cotton!). I told her that the hem, which was only about three inches, wasn't long enough. She talked about somehow adding a piece of fabric as well. I told her the crease from the hem would show. She seemed to think dry cleaning/pressing them would help remedy that. I agreed to let her try her hair brain-idea even though we knew it would never work. The 100 percent cotton wasn't going to stretch. The three inch hem let out would still be lacking three inches. The crease from the original hem would never go away. Last but not least, if she was going to look for matching fabric to sew to the bottom, she was never going to find anything. I didn't even mention to her how faded the curtains were now. A couple days passed, and I called to check the status. She put me off saying something about getting the fabric. She said she would call me the next day. I never received a call. Therefore, I stopped in there the following day. She put me off again because of the fabric. I accepted her explanation but told her that we may not accept the end result. She seemed to understand. She said she would call me Monday (22nd). Again, I did not receive a call. So, I went back to the store the next afternoon. She pulled my two curtain panels out from under a pile of stuff in a laundry basket. She then began to give me more of an explanation as to what happened. From what words I could catch and her swooping motion over her stomach, I gathered that a pregnant girl took care of these things. (And what does that have to do with anything?! ) Then she mentioned something about moisture and the curtains getting wet and then the dry cleaning heat shrinking them. (Not my problem! We believe they washed them instead of dry cleaning them.) She was then talking about the fabric to be added, and it seemed to me as though she was going to ask us to pay for it! She mentioned they looked all over but could not find fabric to match. (Duh!) I finally told her that we wanted our money back. She agreed to that surprisingly enough. (How much time, money, and effort was wasted on trying to do the impossible to try to fix this screw up?!) I reached for the curtains, but she told me they would press them and I could come back for them tomorrow, and she would give me a check then. I went back the next day and got the curtains and the check. Praise God! I believe it paid to be nice, but I will never use them again. read more

My husband and I are not from the DMV area and were struggling to find a good, efficient, and reasonably priced Dry Cleaners to do alterations and dry cleaning. I definitely found it here! Called to ask about getting my military uniform altered. It is 4pm and the phone rang for a good 2 minutes before anyone answered. I said, "hello, I have a quick question. If I bring in a shirt to get tailored today...*quickly cutoff* "Tomorrow", said the worker. "What do you mean tomorrow??" I asked. "The lady isn't here until tomorrow" and then she hung up on me. First of all that is extremely rude! I couldn't even ask ny question. I was going to ask how long it takes to get an item back after being tailored. I.e. I need my blouse tailored ASAP and if I get it back before Friday at 1000 I am willing to pay lots extra! Glad to know how rude people are when answering the phone. I probably would have given the person about $50 just to get it altered correctly and fast as hell. Oh well, I'll just find another place here or back in San Antonio where I know they'll be polite. read more

Horrible. Simply horrible. I had a brand new comforter cleaned. It was returned full of dust! Asked to have an older comforter stitched with patch work. They charged me $15 for what you see in the picture. Then the pregnant girl with an attitude got upset with me when I asked for a discount! I laughed! The last item was a suit, the shirt was so wrinkled. The pregnant girl said, "Oh, that's just the material. We can't do anything about that." In addition to the new comforter, there were extra articles in the bag that I didn't know about. She didn't call me and ask me if I wanted them cleaned. Instead she cleaned them and insisted that i pay. Welp, ZIPS, here I come. So much for supporting local businesses. Wish I would have read the reviews first! read more

I'm unsure if a cleaner's is good or bad, but I will say the following things about this one, adding that this ONLY refers to alterations: NEVER have to wait in line The customer service is ALWAYS OK or good - Some are friendly, some are not NEVER lost any clothes (and I bring upwards of 30 or more pieces sometimes) Offers advice based on items Clean That's all I can add. Absolutely horrible! Their alterations lady is very rude!!! It was my first time coming in because I needed a couple of things altered and this lady completely ignored me. The cashier tried to get her to help me but she kept working on another order. How can you completely ignore someone who is staring you right in your face? I do not recommend this place! read more

The pregnant lady told me seamstress would be available tomorrow so come back. I informed that I was working and wouldn't be able to make it. So she pinned my leg and wasn't polite doing that and seemed also was frustrated because I couldn't understand her english. We made it through that conversation. She advised it would be ready for pickup next wednesday. She proceeded to walk away from and took off her mask. I was checking my receipt to verify pickup date and if incorrect I could change it. She was in the back of the store so I got the attention of 2 other workers. Didn't seem like they understood and called her back. I saw her say something in her language and her facial expression seemed as though she was talking about or even cussing me out for all I know. So I asked for confirmation of the pick up date since we had communication problems. She says "I told you already next week Wednesday." I stated yes you did but the print out states this week Wednesday. She then tells me she is trying to eat and drink her coffee. Whaat???? I can't help it if: 1) you're the only one to understand/speak english, and 2) where is your customer service. I feel as though she should've stayed with me until I had put up the receipt or walked out. I was extremely upset that she would tell me basically I was interrupting her breakfast. Needless to say, this will be my first and last visit to this business. Treat your customers how you wish to be treated. Especially if there is communication problem. read more

I brought in a size 2 pair of dark brown slacks to get dry-cleaned. They were less than a month old. I went to pick them up, and was given a size 16 pair of khakis. I informed them that they weren't my pants, and they argued with me for 30 minutes that they were. Then told me that they would try to find mine and contact me. A week later, I went back in after hearing NOTHING, and was told that they couldn't find them, and would give me a $15 credit towards more drycleaning. I had to wonder if the woman was actually crazy enough to believe that I would EVER get anything else drycleaned there again. read more
