It was a Tuesday around 1pm and not even busy, so it was super awkward to just pick at my food while she waited. When her food finally came, it wasn't right either. She ordered her steak well done and it definitely was not well done. Our waitress mentioned it was her third day, and you could tell. Overall slow service, cleanliness issue, and food timing was way off. Wouldn't recommend.

My boyfriend and I are from out of town and were looking for a restaurant we can't really find at home and I'm so glad we found Marlow's Tavern. Groupon didn't have anything that peaked our interest so we just got on our Map and searched restaurants near by and this place was probably #10 on the list with 5 rating. It was fairly easy to find and only 10 mins from our hotel off of Pleasant Hill Road. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by the man that ended up being our waiter. We decided to sit outside because it was a little too loud for us inside and we wanted to be able to talk about the menu and enjoy our time. It wasn't too hot and only one other couple was sitting out there when we were seated. The sun was starting to go down and if we needed there were shades to block out the sun. Our waiter, Ben, was a super nice and helpful guy. He asked if we had ever dined with them and we told him we were from out of town and he asked where from. He took our drink order and recommended a few different dishes that were his favorite. We started with an appetizer of J.T. Kettle Chips covered in Gorgonzola cheese, bacon, and tomatoes. It was absolutely delicious. Amazing choice. We both ordered one item that Ben recommended. I ordered the Roasted Chicken Panini with Tavern fries and it was so delicious. It was like a half of a roasted chicken was chopped up and mixed in cheese and thrown onto the bread. It was spilling out the sides there was so much. I ate hate of it and my fries before I was too full to eat anymore. I decided to take it home and Ben even took it and boxed it up for me! Even wrote what it was and the date right on the box. My boyfriend got the Infamous Fish Tacos, another amazing recommendation, with a side of Jalapeño Grits. The grits had a slight kick to them but nothing even my sensitive pallet couldn't handle (cause of course I had to try some). Ben said they were pretty well known for their Grits, especially Shrimp and Grits. The boyfriend devoured the Fish Tacos and loved the (what I think was) pickled onions on top. He loves Fish Tacos so was extremely pleased with how delicious they were. He also got a Milk Stout beer that Ben helped him pick out. It was neat because when Ben came out with it, he said to not be alarmed that he knew what he was doing and turned the whole bottle completely upside down pouring it with pumps into the cup. The way the beer settled reminded me of waves rescinding on a beach. It was so pretty looking! After we finished our meals we were asked if dessert was in our future and as much as it pained me, we declined. I can only imagine how amazing their desserts probably are! We were so happy with our service we spoke with the manager. Didn't catch her name but she was extremely friendly and thanked us for our kind words. Even hoped we'd write a yelp review which I had already planned, pictures included! This place was a great find and I'm sad we won't be able to visit it more often but if ever in the area we will hit it up again and maybe even get dessert next time! read more

Went in for a birthday lunch! We went there around 1pm and were given options to be seated immediately in the padio or inside booth; we chose the booth. Quite toasty inside near the kitchen area. Our waiter Nick was really nice and thorough. Our party ordered firecracker shrimp for appetizer. It came out fast and was very delicious! Cruncy with what I'm guessing is savory schezuan sauce. For our entrees we ordered shrimp and grits, wagyu burger with fries, and chicken panini with salad. Every single thing was delicious even the fries were seasoned very well and the burger was light but savory (no greasy feeling), and shrimp and grits were packed with flavor! For dessert we ordered chocolate lava cake, it was $7 and it was very small (Nick had already let me know it was small but my heart was set on chocolate so no surprises!) And just like everything else we ordered, it was very delicious. Im a huge fan of dark chocolate so it was perfect for me and the lava was so rich! Normally not my kind of place, but based on the Yelp! reviews, I decided to give it a try, overall pretty disappointing. We tried to just have a couple appetizers and a couple beers. Chicken wings and calamari seemed like safe bets, but both were obviously frozen products just reheated, chicken wings were very small, and way over priced (I'll stick to Hooters wings thank you) and the calamari was so strong smelling, I could not eat them, to which my server just said sorry, but they were still on my bill? Beers were cold, but not that super cold that so many places do nowdays. Overall our server was pleasant and nice enough, just felt the food was off the mark especially for the price. The first time I went to Marlow's, I got a Jambalaya dish with crawfish and shrimp and it was delicious! I've been craving it for a long time so I finally went back last night to get the Jambalaya again. Turns out that it's only a seasonal dish that is available during Mardi Gras. I was so bummed! But I ended up getting the fish tacos instead and they were pretty good! The tilapia was flavorful and the tortilla was perfectly grilled so it had a little crunch. My daughter got the pasta that was the special. It had basil and roasted tomatoes and a really light sauce and she enjoyed it as well! We shared this chocolate, oreo, pretzel, nutty dessert with vanilla ice cream. It was SO GOOD! So even though I didn't get what I was craving, the food was still really good! read more

The server we were supposed to get never got our drinks in and never showed up and we had to end of getting someone else. He got us our drinks and our order in, he was in fact very attentive and nice. Food was mid ngl. There's better seafood restaurants. Overall the guy that was our server had said his shift ended at 3 so he had to leave and that we will have someone else checking up on us. I'm assuming it was the same girl that was supposed to be our server from the beginning but again she never came to check up on us like ever. We needed a to go box or bag. We waited like 7 minutes just to look around and no one was around only the guy that was picking up the trash and cleaning the tables. We had no other choice but to ask him if we can get a to go bag. Hire other staff that are attentive and that have a sense of urgency.

This is a place I've been going to consistently since I was about 2-3 years old. I go here once,…read moresometimes twice a week with my friends and family. The only problem with this place is I never know what to get because it is all sooooo good. The service is great and the staff are very laid back, friendly, but also super quick. I came here to catch the game, eat some wings, and unwind. Instead, I ended up reconsidering all my life choices -- starting with walking through the front door. Let's talk food, or as Tooey's calls it, "stuff we deep-fried and hoped for the best." The calamari? I wouldn't feed it to a sea gull with trust issues. The only way I could swallow it was by drowning it in the "Asian dressing," which tasted like it was made by someone who once read about Asia in a fortune cookie. Then came the wings. I ordered two flavors, but both felt like personal attacks. The sticky sesame wings were the kind of sticky you need therapy for, and the lemon pepper ones tasted like sadness with a side of regret. Five of each, and I finished zero. Even the tots were confused about being there -- dry, lifeless, and only slightly saved by a desperate dunk in bleu cheese. The real MVP of the night? Mango Cart beer. Cold, smooth, and the only thing that didn't make me question reality. Honestly, I should've gone to the gym. At least there, the pain is productive.
