I am reviewing the venue located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom at Bellevue square. I get confused sometimes because there are multiple restaurants inside of this Nordstrom! I have been here multiple times for various reasons and I have to say the food is always consistently good me. I got to try one or two of their soups, sandwiches, and pasta dishes and all were good to excellent. Their salad is great as well. The service is good too but their system is a bit odd. You pay up front and get seated. The server comes by to confirm what you ordered and bring your drinks and food. Not sure why they do it like this but It is what it is I guess! The atmosphere is very cafeteria like (but clean and well maintained). It's tucked away so unlike their bar that is located smack in the middle of the shopping area, this café feels a bit more private. It gets very busy during weekends. Not necessarily a destination worthy but I recommend it if you're in the area to shop or hang out at the mall. read more

Came here on a Saturday during lunch and my friend and I were surprised to find here that you order and pay at the front, find a table, and then a server comes to you to take your receipt and serves you. So this is my opinion as I've been here many of times. The ladies who work there from counter don't know names. They don't smile don't say hello look mean. Ignore you if you're there while talking. I don't feel welcomed. One had been there for over 2 to 3 years for sure she's looks the meanest she is of color which is my own color but only way to describe her just not welcoming face and never ever smile very bad customer service I would fire her immediately if she doesn't change that face game. read more

Took my mom here for lunch as a change from our usual lunch spot The Grill on the second floor. We got there before lunch rush so there were plenty of seatings. We ordered, grabbed a booth and our lovely waitress stopped by soon after to drop off our drinks. We ordered a cup of clam chowder, which was good but not mind blowing. As a matter of fact, the highlight of this cup of soup was the flavorful crostini that came with it. Now, the truffle and mushrooms pizza was outstanding. Both of us polished the whole thing and I will make sure I come back for this in the near future. The grilled chicken cilantro lime was good as we remembered it and consistency is one thing I valued. I know many other Nordstrom cafe in the area are now operate under a different name (Ruscello or some sort) and it is no longer the same for me. For the first time, I crave salad... me and my boyfriend literally have brunch here every weekend and I'm so glad I found my favorite salad here! We usually order tomato basil soup for starter and it comes with a slice of toast, so savory and the taste is so consistent, it taste just right, I'm not a big fan of tomato soup but well, need to reconsider :) I always order Cilantro Lime with skirt steaks, but last 2 times I ordered it with salmon and it's so delicious as well. I love how there is grilled corn cut straight from the cob and pumpkin seeds, they together create such a interesting texture to eat. My boyfriend usually has spicy Wild Shrimp Pomodoro, what else do I need to say beside adore whoever makes it, so consistent and everything is just right!! I have no problem with servers, they are nice even tho we sometimes gotta wait a little bit during lunch time, we were not in a rush anyways so not really a big deal. This is my favorite hidden gem at the Bellevue mall. I keep coming back for the salmon nicoise salad- it's the perfect. The ingredients are fresh and the salmon is always just right. This location is not as refined as the Alderwood location (order at the counter, paper napkins, not as much server interaction) but it won't stop me from returning. read more

I can finally write an unbiased review now that I don't work for this company! In that unbiased opinion, I think the Marketplace Cafe at Nordstrom does a really good job with food consistency! Every time I order, I know what to expect from the food and it always comes out accordingly. With that said, there has been plenty of times where the restaurant is dead, I'm on a lunch break, and it takes 30-35 mins for me to get my sandwich. It's been a handful of times, and has altered my decision of coming here for lunch every now and then when I need something quick and easy. That would be my only downside. Other than that, order the chicken club for sure!!! Comes with maple bacon, avocado, and all kinds of goodness! Such a good freakin sandwich! The pepperoni mushroom pizza is super solid. My first time here at the Marketplace Cafe, im surprised the reviews here are not very high! This cafe is tucked next to the topshop corner on the 3rd floor inside Bellevue Square mall. Surprisingly very spacious and great for large groups. I came in along with 3 other moms and their babies. That is total of 4 strollers including myself and we were able to claim a big table in the corner. This is a order first then tip later in the table type of restaurant so even though there is no tip slot on the receipt, please be curious and tip on the table! I ordered the asian garlic noodles and it was delicious! All my other friends enjoyed their meals as well. We really appreciated no waiter and the customers giving us a hard time having so many babies with us. Friendly service, delicious and reasonably priced meals! Well, they finally did it. One of our favorite lunch places is now off the table. My wife loved their Grilled Salmon Niçoise salad. So we had lunch today, her salad and hadn't had a French Dip in a while, so I ordered that while my wife got the Salmon (which incidentally seems to have shrunk over the years). I got the salad instead of chips, trying to be a good boy in the new year, but as I was eating my salad a little green bug fell out. A live green bug. So much for lunch. My wife couldn't finish her salad either. The server took it away without apologizing and only brought me, and only me, a refund after I brought it up. I was just going to leave but my wife went to what appeared to be a manager at the register and told him what happened. He said "well, we use Organic produce"? Uhhh, and washing it is taboo? First, I would like to share that my reviews are truly honest and based on the actual quality of the restaurant. The service was terrible as they gave us plastic water cups to use adults. Second we waited 1 hour and a half but yet still no food. We kept asking where our food was but no response from the waiters. We ordered 4 entrees and it was still yet to come out. Our party decided to leave as it was just not worth the wait and we hated this restaurant. If I was to give this restaurant a zero star review I would, I definitely do not recommend for any special occasions or casual dinner or brunch. read more

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Nordstroms is loosing its touch and now the Cafes are not a pleasant experience to dine in either. The last few times I have come to eat, the service level is mediocre and so unpleasant! They are visibly understaffed, but whats most upsetting is the way the FOH service treats their guests. Tables are dirty, they act like having guests in their dining room its a bothered to them. The hospitality is gone! Their service excellence once experienced and served is gone! This is a great option for a quick and casual meal, but with quality ingredients. I especially like to visit here when I'm busy shopping at Nordstrom's and in need of food, but don't want to get a pastry from the coffee bar or want to spend money at the Nordstrom Grill. Just like a cafeteria you can preview the food items in the window and order at the register. Although it's not a restaurant a server will deliver your food to you at your table and get your drink order. I really like their salads and usually get the Nicoise or the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken. The portion is the perfect amount, too. Plus, you can use your Nordstrom card here to get those points, which is a big appeal for any Nordy's shopper. The cafe is spacious enough to accommodate many people, which is especially great because sometimes the place can get so crowded and the line will be outside the cafe. But I've always managed to find a seat. Staff is always super friendly, and if you need to unwind there's beer and wine. read more

I was hangry, had 30 minutes, and there were only a few people (less than 10 most mid-meal) so I figured Avocado Toast in a to-go box would fit the bill. Twenty five minutes later the two people who came in after me were already mid-meal and I had nothing. Had to leave so I stopped to ask if it was ready and they still had to finish it but got it in a box quickly. That Avocado Toast that took nearly half an hour to make? A piece of soggy cold toast with (and please believe me when I say I'm not exaggerating) a layer of mayonnaise about a quarter of an inch thick on top of a schmear of guacamole and a flaccid piece of smoked salmon on top. Anyway I took a bite not realizing it was mayo and had to spit it out. I was not in the cafe anymore so I had to throw it away. I wish I could get my money back or at least something new because I'm still hangry and about to eat a granola bar I found in my purse. Moral of the story is don't eat here, it's got the same menu from when you were in 7th grade and the food is pretty gross. read more

I eat here at least once a week. The food is unmatched in quickness/availability/quality. Their simple salad is delicious, the tomatillo soup yum, and my fav the chicken club- that bacon!! Did I mention the desserts? Chocolate cake, lemon bar AND THOSE LEMON RICOTTA COOKIES. Strawberry lemonades spring water whatever you like.. I can agree not all staff looks thrilled or friendly- and it can get busy- but I think the lines move fast enough. This place is a mother's dream as I can get the food sit down- get it quickly and get out without much disturbance. The waiting staff is usually nice and good enough at coming around to check on you... I don't need you to make me table side guacamole or tell me about your childhood or do backflips- they do the job well enough and quite frankly I don't need much. I am no stranger to Nordstrom cafes or grills or eBars and I can't believe the poor reviews. I am very thankful for this establishment. :) a good solid lunch every time. Also! Confusing, frustrating and sloppy. Ordering a meal here is a battle of wits and utilization of imagination and patience. The first bottleneck is for you to order pizza or some the food items on the menu, however they do not tell you this or when they do you are standing in front of them. If you opt to not get any hot foods they tell you to move on or if other people behind you hear it they promptly cut you in line, which makes you realize how lawless this Nordstrom cafe is. Up next is a stand for soup and the salad station after it. Poor jimmy is here making 5,000 salads by himself and you can't really say anything but Godspeed. Now, forget everything I just told you and remember that the shrimp arugula salad that is being displayed in front of the salad section isn't actually ordered here, surprise! Please return to go and order at the front of the lines. At checkout, because the registers are wrapped on the side and people are just bottling up because of the lack of lines, more chaos proceeds as Wendy and Janice will scuff at lines and cut everyone. This then creates more confusion and genuinely just breaks things. Not sure there is a positive here as the quality of food is being created by employees who are equally confused by the lack of then processed to order food. Been here many times and it always has been great overall experience. Food is great even though the menu has not changed for many years. Service is usually good but today it was a disappointment. We ordered seven dishes and the first one came out right away and number two and three came out 10 minutes later. We waited for the rest of the food to come out but never did so we asked what happened and somehow it got lost. Rest of the food came out 15 minutes later and we finally enjoyed our dinner. Usually server checks on you but this time there was no one except to clean up the finished dishes. Not happy with this time. Hopefully it will be better next time. read more

Nordstrom Marketplace Cafe is a straight up cafe in a department store. They don't boast to be "upscale" as a few reviews have mentioned. It's a mostly serve yourself cafe. And for a serve yourself cafe, they do one hell of a job. The food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious. The service, being Nordstroms, is for the most part spectacular. The set up is kind of odd. You go to the top floor of Nordstroms. Walk to the cafe and grab a menu. You then go up and grab a tray and go through a cafeteria style line and you order. If you're getting a salad or soup, they will give you the food there. If you're not, you continue to pay. Grab your own silverware and drink then walk to an open table with your number. Then a server will come and take your number and order. After a few short minutes, the server will deliver your food. Strange, right? But it works. The menu consists of soups, paninis/sandwiches, salads, pastas, and 3 "specialties." I've tried almost everything on their menu and they are all good. They also have a rotating daily specials menu. They have all their food "dried" so that you can see what you're actually ordering. I tend to lean towards a cup of their tomato soup which comes with a delicious parmesan crostini. Then I go for the spicy shrimp angel hair pasta or the chicken pesto panini which comes with the perfect amount of chips. A soup and main comes to about $15. The panini, which I find utterly delicious, super melty and grilled to perfection, comes with a side of chips. They also have a wide array of desserts and I love their lemon ricotta cookie. They sometimes have chocolate coconut cookie/macaroon and I find those delectable as well. They have both fountain soda, bottled drinks, and fresh lemonade/strawberry lemonades. The lemonades are pricey but accompany any panini well. For those with kids, they also have a kids menu. Their food gets 4 stars but their service gets 5. I came in here solo after a long day of running around pulling errands inside the mall that I just wanted to eat and relax. As I was paying, the manager overheard that I wanted a quiet spot with an outlet so the manager grabbed my food and walked me to the only table in the house with an outlet. The seating area is huge so I would have never found it myself. At the end of the meal, the serve will come around and bring you these awesome chocolate mints that are just the perfect note to the end the meal. Nordstrom has Wi-Fi so you could even come here and work if you wanted to. The only bummer is that this cafe closes earlier than the mall does. If you're in the mall and you want to get a quick, delicious, affordable bite to eat with awesome service, this is the place for you. read more

What a strange place, seriously I don't think they thought it through. You walk in and the sign says "grab a tray" ok cafeteria style, that's fine. Then you walk over to look at the foods, the have already made dishes, everything on the menu out for inspection. So I gave my order to the guy and he says "you don't need the tray" ok. . . Remove your sign then. Get to the cashier and pay, take my number and sit down. At this point a different guy comes over and says "Hi my name is Jessie, and I'll be your waiter" . . Why? WHY!? TELL ME WHY!! What the hell could you possibly do? I have my drink, my order is in, every condiment is five steps away from me on a counter. What would you say you do here? I feel Nordstroms Marketplace cafe is a hidden gem. Who ever thought you can get a yummy cafe meal in a department store? They have all their dishes displayed and you tell the person what you want. They then give you a receipt. The drinks are self serve. You then pay at the end of the counter and take any seat you would like with a little number sign. The wait staff will then bring you your meal. They are very friendly and attentive. There food all looks delicious. I would recommend the artichoke and chicken salad, its kind of like a Greek salad but with artichokes and chicken. The Strawberry lemonade is also delicious, it taste 100% homemade. Nordstrom's sells food now?? I didn't know either. Taking the escalator up to the top floor, the cafe slowly appears right in front of you. It looks kind of like a hotel dining area, with a cafeteria style ordering system. They have all of their food options laid out as their "menu," and you can choose from sandwiches, pastas, soup, and salads. I ordered the French Dip sandwich. The jus seemed a bit more flavorful than usual, and it had a redder color than I'm usually accustomed to. I'm sure they added something to give it more flavor, and whatever it is, it was good! The sandwich itself had very crispy and flavorful bread, and the quantity of beef was really good! It was neither soggy nor oily, and it all worked together perfectly. I opted to get a side salad (other option is chips), and it was pretty heavy on the dressing, but a good pairing nonetheless. There aren't too many options within the mall, and this was the last place I expected to find good food. The service was excellent -- so friendly and polite! Which is impressive because all they do is bring out the food, they don't even have to take your order or anything since that is all done at the counter. Whether you come pre-shopping or post-shopping, it's definitely worth coming here to fill up here next time you get hungry while shopping! read more

I'm rarely on the east side. The traffic gives me a pesky headache no matter what time of day it is and I hate weaving amongst SUVs the deeper I head into Bellevue! To be clear, I'm not a Seattle elitist... I'll drive to Bellingham on a whim for wood fired pizza if the mood strikes, just heading east always ends up being problematic. But it was on one of these rare occasions that I found myself across the water doing a bit of shopping. Forgetting breakfast that day, hunger hit like a freight train and our options were to leave our choice parking spot, walk to another restaurant or eat here. My best friend suggested the latter because she had been multiple times with her mother on their shopping expeditions. It was well after lunch so the cafe wasn't overly crowded. We entered the line with tray in hand, selected our items and paid the cashier - typical of a cafeteria setting. When we settled on a table, one of the servers came by to take our trays and our ticket presumably so food could be expedited to our table when it was ready. The women in the line and in the dining area were very friendly. My water was refilled several times and I was quickly brought an extra glass of ice with lemon when I asked for some. The food is spendier than most cafeteria fare but the quality was good. I loved my flat iron Angus steak with portobellos though midway through, I tired of all bread and just focused on the meat and mushrooms. When we were finished, our table was cleared and we were brought chocolate mints. Yum! I was unsure about leaving a tip with the style of the service. We erred on the side of yes since we were brought our food and checked on during the meal. I would not make a special trip to have a meal here. If I were shopping at Nordstrom's, I'd probably nip in for something to eat. The desserts looked amazing but we were too full for anything else. FOOD: Got the salmon salad and cranberry turkey sandwich. Salmon salad came with lettuce, green beans, boiled eggs, capers, olives and cherry tomatoes. Salmon was most and cooked perfectly. I'm not sure what kind of salmon it was though... (Atlantic is farmed everyone-no one wants that)! It was an alright salad... Pricy. I believe it was $14-15. Yikes. I almost got the cranberry turkey sandwich. Asked for it to be pressed like a panini. Bread was healthy looking and tasted pretty good. It came with turkey, cranberries and sprouts. PRESENTATION: Other reviews said this is suppose be fancy and it disappointed them. I don't think it is meant to be fancy just because it is "Nordstrom." The steak sandwich, served ice cold, by far is the worst menu item from a restaurant in recent memory . If your shopping at Nordstrom's you have to grab a bite at their cafe. They offer a great selection of food at reasonable prices and they are all flavorful. This one in Bellevue is located on the top floor of the shop right by the topshop area and it has a good amount of dining room space to fit quite a few people and they offer table service and wine and beer as well. I usually have the Santa Fe chicken sandwich here which is a little spicy and comes with chips. My wife has the Chinese chicken salad which is also a great choice. These two options are just right if you are not looking to eat too much. read more

These 5 stars are for their respect and dedication to customers. My mother and I have been on a strict dietary restriction for the past week and we can only have veggies and some protein. No sauces no oils no nuts. She requested the Asian Chicken Salad taking out the crackers and nuts and dressing and I requested the skirt steak subbing the normal potatoes with grilled veggies. Normally their steak is pre-marinated but they went out of their way to use a cut of meat that had been un-seasoned. The mid-rare was perfection, the grilled veggies were perfection, and my moms salad was perfection. Thank you for making our experience wonderful even with our restrictions!! read more
