As always, my experience with the 4 employees I encountered this morning was very pleasant! The 3 Ladies at Customer service were very friendly , engaging as well as efficient!! I appreciate them so much .I also picked up a premade sub, which was a great value and delicious . The employee at checkout was equally as pleasant and efficient. MB is my go to grocery store, but ran into a similar problem today as in the past. Purchased fresh clams and as in the past, a good number are dead, and they certainly stink. This happened in the past and I just tried to pick out the live ones, throwing the dead ones away, but it is costly now. This time, there are too many dead ones and I have to drive ALL the way back, through traffic, because I don't want these in the house and better to return them ASAP. Can't even get more as I wouldnt trust those that are still available. Last bunch was really good, but VERY disappointed I have to spend more time and gas to return them. Sad to see the whole MB brand in decline. Blueberry muffins with no blueberries in them. Packaged "fresh fruit" with the fresh covering rotten stuff below (its an old grocers trick). Scummy people eating food (premade sandwiches) and leaving the packaging on the shelves (also known as stealing). Baggers that could care less if they put heavy items on top of fragile ones..and on top of it are rude. No one says thank you or your welcome. I go to multiple Market Baskets, e en up in North Conway, and the problem is still the same. You know what your peak hours are but you still continue to understaff during these hours. 1 person on pizza being deluged with to go orders as well as slices.My number was called, kid started my 2 pie order and proceeded to let 7 people go before me for their slices, which needed to be heated, and while he's taking phone orders. DON'T DO THAT TO YOUR EMPLOYEES! DONT DO THAT TO YOUR CUSTOMERS! There should be an employee working on to go orders. I've worked in the food industry for many years. I have told these employees they can go down the street at another job , make the same money standing there doing nothing. Shame on you. Every single time I go, customers complain about the same thing. I love the pizza, I love the steak bombs but I can't continue to go in watching these young inexperienced workers be overwhelmed. You have a great product. I'm losing respect for you. More staff in those areas during peak times. I just finished my delicious chicken cutlet and penne dinner from Market Basket in Salem New Hampshire. It is always delicious . I take out the chicken put it in my toaster oven let it get crispy and warm and then I microwave the penne and for the price it is incredible delicious value ! Wow! All I can say is wow. The new Market Basket in Salem is finally open and it is beautiful. This is the biggest MB in NH and is is huge. There is hardly a memory of the old Demoulas store that was on this site just a short year ago. This new store is not just big and impressive. Its clean and WIDE. Very wide isles. 21 Checkout registers. Due to the blizzard on opening day- I was the 1st one to use Checkout #14. Markets Kitchen- Hot and prepared meals- Soups, wings, fried chicken, salads, sandwiches, burrito meals, and daily specials Cafe- Fresh coffee, smoothies, muffins, donuts, tables for 50 and free wifi Sushi- Yes! I spoke with the sushi Chef and he even gave me a menu to call ahead for extra freshness and special orders. A decent variety. Bakery- Much different from the traditional MB bakeries- Tons of cakes, cannoli and decorated cookies, bread, pastry. Cigarettes! I don't smoke but they have an entire section in front dedicated to smokes. Tobacco companies would be proud. Alcohol! Oh Yes! A SPECIAL Dept found dead center. 4 isles - triple more than the sister store 3 doors down. Now the grocery dept- More isles than they know what to do with. Latin foods ile- this is impressive a VAST amount of everything- spices, rice, GOYA, beans, Jesus candles, candy, pineapple soda International food isle- All kinds- Japan, Vietnamese, China, Thai, Jewish, Middle Eastern, Korean Kim Chi- more. I now don't have to trek to H- Mart. Meat, deli, fresh seafood- This is the place. Ok now I have a new store. Heat is off the MB next door, they can redo that one now - please. read more

I ain't mad. They're always friendly. The food is great. The prices are great. I just want to come and right a wrong here. Paninis are sandwiches, but sandwiches are not paninis. In other words, when I order a panini, I don't expect white sandwich bread, toasted. I expected a panini. Google it. Not a big deal at all. I'm just saying. You're a grocery store. If I asked for a greek olive everyone would say kalamata, or Greek cheese, feta/Manouri. Panini is a small pressed italian roll, grilled and pressed. Just call it a sandwich is all. read more

Best market basket store I've ever seen. Big wine, beer collection . Big kitchen - cheap prices. Coffee place. Always packed... Especially Friday, Saturday and Sunday forget... You stay 20 min waiting in line that is how it is busy. They do have organic vegetables , desserts for diabetic, candies for kids, flower for your girl , power protein for your guy :) Fresh fish, meat, chicken and dairy product. Bakery inside it ... Massive place with everything in it, I come here cause this is the only market basket in the area that carries when pigs fly bread. I love that bread!!! Sundays are packed and aisles are jammed. Traffic everywhere. Organic selection very thin, baked goods, cakes, Pizza, sushi, beer, wine, a coffee shop it has it all. Lots of cashiers on deck and they are pretty fast. read more

Good prices and pretty good selection. I like the big store feel and that I can get almost everything I need here. However, the store was dirty. Maybe I came in during a bad time the three times I've been in but the displays were not easily shoppable and the floor was gross. I mean I did go in after 5 on weekdays. I don't know if the store just gets beat up all day but I think the store just needs to be overhauled and cleaned up. The customer service is okay. The cashiers aren't too polite. Not really up to smiling or anything. The people on the sales floor will help you locate stuff politely. read more

I think I saw more employees working diligently in this store in just the meat and dairy aisle than I've seen working in entire Stop & Shop stores. This store is (of course) very clean and very well stocked. The prices are quite competitive. There were lots of registers open and little or no wait at any of them. I love the new market basket in Salem, NH. I really missed the old Demoulas while this store was being constructed. The old Demoulas was going to be difficult to replace in my eyes. However, to my surprise I love the new one! They have everything and the prices are still reasonable. In addition, the staff at this store is wonderfully friendly. This is what you get when you buy an individual Greek salad at Market Basket. This salad was purchased on 1/5/19 and opened on 1/6/19. The sell by date is 1/7/19. These are such a waste of money. It's like eating out of a garbage can! The salad consists primarily of the thick (inedible) rib of the lettuce leaf. There were no cucumbers or peppers in the salad as stated in the ingredients list on the packaging.The lettuce is decaying with brown pieces throughout. I wouldn't serve this to my dog. read more

This is a great MB. they have A lot to choose from for ready-made meals and to-go bakery, etc. I liked that they had a WHOLE aisle of ethnic foods, which reflects the general population of the area (and wonderful for those of us who like all kinds of food). They seem to have widened the aisles since the remodel, which I find important because it reflects America's GROWING FAT ARSE population. Now I don't have to squeeze around the fatties bending over for the Spring Version Oreos and Little (should be Gigantic) Debbie Snacks. It was really busy, but it was so big inside that it didn't really matter. The parking lot stunked because of all the people, tho. read more

Great grocery store! The one knock on them is the cold cuts. I don't really like their selection so I usually go up the road to McKinnon's for those and for meat. It is huge and has plenty of everything at a cheaper price than any of its competitors. This location is the newer, huge design similar to the Chelsea location, only without the obnoxious animals that will run you down and steal your cart filled with food like in Chelsea. They also have a huge beer/wine selection. I recommend this location. read more

I wanted to write a great review for the bakery!! I recently eloped and then when we returned had a clambake reception. We were on a budget so decided to get the cake at market basket to cut costs. Well not only was it cheap ($90) for a two teir with fruit for 150 people it actually tasted WAY better than the "pretty cakes" 5 stars to the bakers and cake decorators there... Thank you!!!! During COVID 19, worker are not wearing masks properly. If they are wearing them at all. They have signs posted " masks are required" but they let people in with out a face covering. Employees do not say anything to people not wearing a face covering. So they care about there bottom line and not customers safety or health. I emailed them and I was told that employees are all trained in proper use of face covering. They wanted proof. I sent them proof and no response. They wanted people to stand behind them when they had the family problem. Everyone boycotted the store to make the point they wanted to make. Ever since then prices have gone up, produce seems to have gotten worse. One cashier, while I was paying. She kept hitting the button and tried charging my debit card 13 time. She hit down my debit card for the weekend. My bank flagged the payments and shut it down, until I was able to call them on Monday. That's when the bank said they tried ringing the same amount 13 times. This store is just getting sloppy. Even bagging food is getting sloppy. I now pay more money and go to Whole Foods and Stop and Shop. read more

I wasn't in the mood to wait for 45-60 minutes to be seated at the restaurants near by so I grabbed some sushi here. In and out in about 5 minutes. Geoffrey is best deli worker ever! He makes the subs to perfection and exhibits incredible customer service skills. Like this guy wrote my name in ranch on my sub it was straight magical! Please give this dude a raise and make him a manager or something. He made my experience like 150% better than my regular experience. I usually get these drone ladies who obviously hate their job and this guy like lives for it smiling asking questions the whole time making jokes being super cool. Go see him he will make your day. Okay, so they have everything you expect a major grocery store to have, but I must comment on a couple of things... First of all, they have a large and amazing produce section with a selection of very healthy looiking fruits and vegetables. While the store is oversized, the produce section takes up a significant portion of the floor. The only draw back is that it seems like to fill the space they have repeated some of the produce a few times (I think you can buy green peppers from about three different locations in the department. More importantly they have knock ur socks of customer service. The other day (Sunday) I had to make an early morning mad dash to try to find some essentials before house guests woke up for breakfast. We just relocated here from Atlanta and are accustomed to grocery stores that are 24 hour. I was surprised to find that this is NOT the case up here and am trying to adjust my behavior accordingly - still I was caught by surprise. i pulled into their lot at 630 in the AM and saw somebody walking in the door... I figured she worked here... then another and another. I decided to get out of the car and go myself only to find their doors were already open (they weren't supposed to open till 7). I mentioned this to the cashier and her response was, well, we were here so there's no reason why we couldn't take care of people, so we often just open the doors. Maybe they didn't have all of their services rolled out and ready yet (I don't think the deli was staffed by my recall) but in a world where people give you attitude if you ask for anything of them as a customer, they seemed to go the extra mile. read more

I used to go to this location a lot it's really convenient however one of the cashiers told my daughter she looked too skinny and she needed to eat more when she was purchasing a protein bar now she might not have complained or said anything to a manager or corporate but I think that a cashier saying something like that was completely out of line my daughter recently had had surgery and lost a lot of weight and was feeling extra self-conscious about it. This location isn't professional they need to train their staff better. read more

The new Market Basket is just "fabulous" it is beautiful, clean, and well stocked. The employees are very nice and helpful. I would like to start by saying, this store is awesome, they treat you with a smile as soon as you walk in the store, the store manage is a true gentle man, the front cashiers are always kind & friendly, this must be because the store front supervisors Silo & Melissa and there staff of assistants are always there to help in any way they can. i don't the dairy supervisor name but i explained to him there was no Sharp provolone cheese and the next day it was there. the deli supervisor Gregg & his assistant David are always on top of there game, there staff is also awesome and they always help in any way the meat manager Jimmy and his staff are the best, Jimmy always welcomes you with a smile and will do just about anything to make sure you are completely satisfied with ever you purchase, from steak, to ribs, to chicken. this is why switched from the market basket up the street in the mall with Kmart. read more

This store is huge and has a very large selection including an excellent beer and wine are that has every kind you could imagine . With some decent prices. The produce and meat is just average , nothing local or too fancy but fresh. The Market Cafe is great they have coffee and espresso drinks using Rao's coffee at prices half the price of coffee shop but still the quality. Worth the drive an extra few miles to shop here for the selection and value. read more
