I swinging through town and I needed necessities for my 5-day stay in town. I will say that my experience was good because the staff was so friendly. The reason why I only gave three stars is because the Establishment looks like it came out of a movie filmed in the 1950s. I also found it strange that they had mixers for alcoholic beverages...yet they didn't sell any alcohol at this store. Overall, I would say that it is just a average grocery store that is in dire need of an upgrade. read more

This review is for their bakery staff. They consistently go above and beyond with their cake decorating! We got a 1/2 sheet cake for my son's birthday. Mario themed. They decorated it around the designed we picked with Mario pipes, piranha, vines and ? blocks. But it's not just this year. It's every year. Y'all are the BEST!! read more

I feel like my review doesn't matter since I'm an assistant manager of the check out, but your experience will depend what worker you approach and if they are having a good or bad day, but honestly the food is all depending on what you get and brand, I always see our BBQ chicken that you can find near the seafood and it's too difficult to leave without buying one because the scent is too great smelling read more

If you don't have claustrophobia already, you will after going here. One of the most cramped and nonsensical layouts of any supermarket I've ever been to. read more

Nimerous employees walking around with masks around their neck and not covering mouth and nose. When asked to please cover, they replied " it's crazy in here". This is everyday at this location and is why I now drive to Salem, NH if I want to go to a clean Store and where the employees seem to care. This store is not the cleanest Market Basket around and management doesn't seem to care... read more

I didn't know covid 19 was over, it must because nobody in the store were wearing a mask. Wow I am so happy the virus is over we should all be dancing in the streets without any masks on hell maybe we should all kiss each other. I don't like wearing a mask either but I wear it for myself and everyone else. read more

My latest trip to Market Basket on Haverhill St in Methuen , MA. The usual expired items. The Yoplait peach/mango smoothies expired over a week ago still in the shelf. Then I ventured over to the bread aisle to get Beef Steak soft rye bread. There were four loaves on the shelf and all four expired days ago. This is the norm for this store. read more

Awesome cashier Kaitlyn (long strawberry blonde hair) is always friendly and efficient... we deliberately choose her line at the check out when she's working. read more

Not all MB's are the same. I have ventured out to more than my share since I realized how much I can save going there instead of Stop and Shop or Shaw's. I was pleasantly surprised at this location. For the most part it was free of the typical cast of characters that frequent the Demoulas chain. Aisles were easily managed and stocked appropriately. Cashier was quick and efficient. Had almost everything I needed on my list. Unfortunately there are some things I like to purchase that MB just doesn't carry. A rewards card and/or gas station would force me to make Market Basket my ONLY grocery store I shop at. hint hint.... read more

I have been a customer for a very long time. I am still a customer. It's my opinion that Market Basket on Haverhill St Methuen has gone down in quality over the last several years. I have stopped going to that store. It takes longer to go to one of the Salem store, but that is a better and safer experience. read more

Better Market basket than the one closest to me. Has a sub shop and all the foods I'm looking for. Lines are fast

Market Basket has a marketing technique that really pissed me off. I have yet to visit any of them and not find the same. When you enter the store, every register not in use is blocked by carriages or whatever so people have to walk thru the entire store even to pick up an item that is right near the door you used to get in . I get the reasoning. However, have they ever once took into consideration their customers with mobility issues? I find this practice not only greedy, but in extremely poor taste. read more

I was at the customer service booth the other day. This nice young man named Winder was helping me and made my time shopping very easy and convenient but that was very rudely interrupted. I believe the mans name was Mr. McGrath and he is obviously not too fond of the two nice kids in the booth. They were just helping me and another woman. But Mr.McGrath barged in and began bossing them around and yelling at them for doing their jobs. It was totally uncalled for. As a grown man he should have never yelled at two teens doing their jobs perfectly and yelled at them in front of the shoppers. It was insanely inappropriate. The two teens were yelled at because of HIS lack of communication. I was appalled. read more

Ive been an MB customer since the 60;s. BUT this store needs new leadership. One recent experience I had there was a customer with AT LEAST 30 items ahead of me in 12 and under lane. When I POLITELY asked the cashier why she had allowed this, she started crying, which caused some wannabee to come to her rescue and give ME attitude. Needless to say, I'll returnexclusively to store #12 where Joe A, the manager knows what customer service is all about. read more

Haverhill St Market Basket Very Poor service. I go there almost every day.... No more ! There is never enough cash registers open ! Always 6 or more people waiting..waiting..waiting in line. What's up with that ? Every other Market Basket opens more registers when there is two or more customers waiting in line. I have spoken to the " manager " many times. He is Very rude and could care less. Time to shop some where else. read more

Im surprised by the sub-par reviews on here. This MB has always been really great. If I go at the non-peak times the lines are not bad. The store is very clean. There are really friendly staff and if you look at their name tags you see how the place must be a good employer because many of them have worked there for decades. I take that as a very good sign. The butcher/meat department folks are especially helpful. The produce is always good. I've also discovered in the last few months that they package up deli meat and put it in a refrigerated bin near the deli dept so you don't have to wait in line if you are happy with just grabbing what's pre-cut and not worrying about a specific amount/weight. The only frustration I had recently was they seem to not be carrying the frozen artichokes for the last few months, and they did not have saffron - but I did find it in another MB. read more

Your average MB in need of a renovation. The store feels dark and cramped and the employees aren't overly friendly, but those MB prices can't be beat. I prefer to go to #6 in Salem, but as I live right down the street from this store I still stop in for one or two things from time to time. read more

Today is Father's Day. Figured I'd get my dad a gift card to Market Basket seeing as he buys everything from the one he lives near. This Market Basket put 25 cents on a gift card that was supposed to be for 25 dollars. So my dad had the embarrassment of having a gift card for 25 cents in the checkout aisle of his own Market Basket. I will not be coming here again. If I could rate it 0 stars for the inconvenience and hassle it caused for my dad and I, I would. read more

I have shopped here frequently. I got to my car and realized I was not given one of my items. I looked two or three times and could not find it. I went back in the store with my slip and mentioned to the cashier that I could not find item. She immediately said you probably did not buy it, I then showed her the slip....she said it is not here you probably have it. Not a nice comment for a cashier. I then went over to the manager and he said to go get another one and with that we found that she had given the item to the person behind me. She was extremely rude, never apologized and was disrespectful to question myself as the customer who is very credible. Also she never said hello to me or thank you. I worked part time for market basket many years ago and this type of behavior would never have been allowed. Market basket is not the same as it was before and with employees like this I would not be surprised to see this store loose business. The manager also acted like he could have cared less. read more

just a heads up I have been a customer for 19 years. i shop here cause it is down the street. my issue is with the stocking. They are stocking with these flat dollys that take up much of the isle. & a customer cannot get to the product they want nor are the employees willing to move the dolly of stock out of they way. when there is a stock person in almost every ilse all the time it is frustrating!! those things should be done when the store is not so busy. also when the store opens at 7 am and I go to get my 93% hamburg there is no hamburg. cause they don't start stocking until after 7am. if the store is open I should not need to wait to be severed. if you let me in the store to shop at 7 am then I should not wait at the deli for them to set up and then get to me. you cant have employers show up for 3 minutes till 7 am then except them to be ready for customers. just saying store open and all should be ready. Not open the store then make the customer to wait for the employee to get there stuff together. just saying. if you are not going to have the store ready by 7 then don't open at 7. read more
