Hi, I wrote a review regarding the Market Basket snack crackers a few weeks back stating that they were not cooked enough in very easy to break when trying to spread something on . Much to my delight I just bought another box and they are cooked until crispy and do not break when I spread my peanut butter on them and they are absolutely delicious, back to normal ! I never received a response regarding my review but I hope this reaches wherever it's supposed to If there really was a change made and not just a coincidence . I have been a loyal customer of MB for the past 35 years, even protesting on behalf of Artie T several years agok, but today, not so much. Today is Thanksgiving and the fresh turkey I purchased on Tuesday is spoiled. The label gives a sell by date of 12/1/2025 and I properly stored it in my refrigerator. I'm no rookie as I roast or smoke fresh turkeys at least 4 times a year Since Artie T was fired, I have noticed slight changes (negative) but this one is the biggie that will end my relationship with MB. read more

Today is Nov 1, 2025 and I just had the best experience at any deli I have ever had. The time must have been around 5pm and I was getting a bunch of cold cuts and cheese and not 1, not 2 but 3 deli employees helped me simultaneously!!! In this day an age when most people don't have any comments but negative ones I thought it important to give credit where credit is do. I was amazed at this gesture and while I live in Mass I will probably shop at this store as much as possible. I know I can't expect that kind of service all the time, but this was legendary!!! read more

I don't like how they treated Artie and the overall management of the company but this location is full service, has more organic options, is usually nice and clean, has the standard MB layout, and I really appreciate their young hardworking staff and that they employ young people and provide jobs for the community read more

Normally, I have nothing but praise for this store. However, I am so annoyed at this point. Just got home to unpack my groceries. My apples were at the bottom of the bag with cans thrown on top. My hamburger rolls were at the bottom of the bag with, spaghetti sauce and stuffing mix and paper plates on top. They were mushed. My sushi was put in the bag sideways and it's all pushed down to one end of the plate all mushed up. And my frozen pizza was put in a bag sideways that was too small for it so all of the box ends split open and crushed. I don't know. Annoyed! read more

I missed the new Market Basket grand opening by a few days but I went in today after work to check out the new store. Initially, I was a bit disorientated as it has a very similar setup to the other MB store down the road. This store has a very similar layout to the MB in Londonderry, NH. think it is close to the same square footage as the other MB store on 265 S. Broadway in Salem. Pros: 19 registers all OPEN at 5:15 PM Special custom meat counter with special cuts Self serve soup station. Deli & Seafood, Bakery, Cafe, Sushi, all super fresh and top notch! Always friendly customer service. Ex- I was personally greeted and given a cart as I entered. What other stores do this? Fresh pasta! Some really new and cool produce like Jack fruit and winter melon! Negs Crazy parking lot - very maze like. I think the iles are a bit narrower than the 265 store. read more

I've been shopping at market basket for over 40 years when they were just demoulas. All heve been wonderful for the most part. But this particular store in Tuscan village is awful. With the exception of a couple of employees, most of them are rude, and get bothered if you are in their way while shopping. The checkout employees are not properly trained. I've yet to have a cashier count back my change to me. The baggers throw everything in 2 of my 4 bags that I re-use instead of balancing my order. I much prefer to go to the older store near the defunct Kmart. They are friendly, courteous, and are properly trained. read more

We do not have Market Basket back home so it was a travel visit only. I liked the variety of sandwiches and other takeout meal offerings, and overall they do have quite a selection in every department at this location, it seems. It was convenient to the hotel we stayed at. So I can't review the place in much detail, but for us, looking for somewhere to get some quick meals after a long drive it was great. read more

Great new store in the newly developed Rockingham Park complex. This Market Basket is the 3rd in Salem, NH which seems to be a bit of an overkill. However, this store is unique in that it has a butcher shop at the back of the store with Prime meat selections and a butcher stationed to wrap your selections from the enclosed case. The isles are in my opinion a tad bit wider than those of other Market Baskets which is helpful during the weekend rush. As of right now..... produce seems to be higher quality than what I have experienced in Plaistow, Epping, Londonderry and the newer of the two other Salem stores. I don't hold my breath that they won't be putting undesirable fruits and veggies out within a few months. The prepared foods selection in the store is also a very nice feature along with the custom ordering stations. Fingers crossed they keep this store as it is now and show it TLC. Otherwise, a Wegmans would have been my vote for this space. read more

Won't be going back, though I would like to use this new MB in the Tucsan Village area. I have been there a number of times and when I went there about a month ago for a few items, there was no skim milk. There wasn't even a section for it. I needed it and so put the items back I had picked up and went to another MB where this problem doesn't exist. Was there again today, 2/27/23, to pick up some groceries, and went for the Chobani Fat Free Yogurt and there was none; went for the Skim Milk and again - NONE. Had a shopping list but the milk was needed, so I put the butter back on the shelf, let the shopping cart there and WENT TO THE OTHER MD down the street as before. THEY had Skim Milk, THEY had Chobani Fat Free Yogurt and everything else that I needed for the most part. Won't bother going back to MB near Tuscan Village again - it has been a waste of my time, though it is more convenient if I have other shopping to do in that area of Salem. :-( read more

I cannot say it enough, racism shouldn't be accepted. Not by one and definitely not by many. I experienced this behavior by the deli employees, the customer service employees, cashier(boy) and the employee who was in the bread aisle and by many customers. It's a problem in every part of the store. Not only was I regretful for entering this location, but beyond embarrassed. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't for the treatment I endured. Such a beautiful market with rude employees. The deli person was enraged, the customer service employee rolled her eyes, the cashier was talking to a coworker and making me wait longer, the girl in the bread aisle didn't want to help me all she said was I don't know. The food and location was clean and organized. I would never go to this location because I value myself, and definitely didn't need to go through what we did. read more

I cannot believe the disrespect that this manager has towards their young employees. As an employee, I no longer have the desire to work because of the poor attitude that the manager has shown me. The manager in particular is the newest member of the Market Basket crew, Allison. She seems to be buddy- buddy with many customers which leaves a positive environment for people who are temporarily there. However, her lack of respect for her employees is astronomical. Colby has never been rude or impolite to any of his employees. These are young women and men who are learning about a toxic work environment. This needs to be corrected. She does not listen to the needs of her young employees. No matter if they just have to go to the bathroom or are extremely sickly, she will ignore them. Her ignorance has caused discomfort and anxiety to come to work. This needs to be fixed for the minors that are working there because she is the adult who is acting like a child. read more

I have gone grocery shopping at this newer Market Basket in Salem twice. Unless I have no other options (and there are other options considering there are now three Market Baskets in Salem alone), I am never coming back to this location. I have never encountered a grocery store, or any store for that matter, who has given customers such flack for using reusable grocery bags. The first time I went grocery shopping here, I had my own grocery bags as I always do. The cashier proceeded to start putting items in plastic. I politely told her I'd prefer to use my own bags. She seemed taken aback, so feeling awkward and like I needed to explain myself, I told her I try not to use plastic products. She then quipped snarkily, "yeah but look at what you're drinking out of, though." I had a diet coke, which was in a plastic bottle. I was intensely uncomfortable - I said to her, well I cannot help what container my drink comes in, but I can help avoiding plastic where I can, like when I grocery shop. I shouldn't have needed to explain myself to her, but her comment was really unneeded and put me in a position where I felt like I had to defend my choices. This was a few months ago. I came back to grocery shop here this week as I happened to be driving by. I had my reusable bags, as usual. The bagger proceeded to put my eggs in plastic. I politely told him I did not want him to use any plastic bags and to please use the bags I had provided. He said to me very frankly, "Oh I ALWAYS put eggs in plastic so that you know where they are." There's a lot to unpack with this statement, but I'll sum it up by saying that is a completely ridiculous reason for putting eggs in plastic. I didn't push him on this, I just said okay, but asked that he please not continue to use any plastic with my groceries. Cut to about 30 seconds later, he starts putting something else in plastic. I said again, a little more forceful this time, that I did not want him to use any plastic with my groceries; I'm not sure how much more clear I could have possibly been. He said, "this is fish." It was a bag of rock solid frozen shrimp, and it was already in a plastic bag. I said sir, its already in a plastic bag and its frozen, as I mentioned I do not want any plastic bags. He ignored me and continued to put it in plastic. I was just completely blown away by this interaction. This now twice that I have shopped at this store and they have given me trouble for using reusable bags. Not to sound like a 'Karen,' but I am the customer and I am paying for the groceries; they should bag my items how I ask and not give me attitude. I should also mention that when customers bring their own bags, it saves the store money, so the fact that they pretty much discourage customers from using their own bags is troubling. Not to mention the environmental impact of plastic, which is the main reason I choose to bring my own bags when I shop. As mentioned, I will never shop here again. Both times I have come here the store has also been pretty dead, and has been missing a lot of basic grocery staple items that I need. With other Market Baskets literally half a mile away in any given direction, there is no need to shop here and do business with employees who do not respect customer wishes. read more

Just had the worst market basket experience in 50 years of going there. This took place at the new one in the Tuscan village. Was standing in line at the coffee counter waiting to pay for my sandwich. There was an older man in front of me it was being waited on by a young cashier. Then there was an elderly lady with the 10 years of service badge I didn't get her name helping an employee pay for his lunch. When the employee was done paying I stand in front of the elderly employee who instantly started yelling at me telling me I cut the gentleman in front of me. I said excuse me ma'am he is being waited on by this young girl. She proceeds to tell me she doesn't even work here you need to get back in line and storms out the back through the side door. So unprofessional. I was appalled. read more

Brand new Market Basket in an area with a ton of development. When you first pull into the parking lot you can't help but notice how absolutely packed it is...it is extremely off putting. Please don't let that deter you. This location is very well put together, organized, clean, and inviting. Despite being busy, the isles had were well spaced so I never felt like I was crowded by shopping carts or employees unloading stock. Huge shout out to Zach S. who helped me to my car when the groceries didn't fit into one cart after being bagged. read more

This store is lame. They are always out of whatever I want. No Dunkin Donuts original blend bagged coffee. Just weird flavors. Only generic toilet paper. No Charmin or Cottonelle. No regular Paul Newman lemonade. Yogurts out of date. The staff is clueless. Nice but not knowledgeable. I far prefer the two MB stores down the street. read more

Is it hard to get in and out of here! Wow, a real drawback, and then to go in and it looks like every other Market Basket with that peach paint job, with some prices a little more expensive? Well, it is pretty nice, though. So, overall, a good experience, but I like the good ethnic mix of the larger MB that is nearby on some occasions, and the smaller MB that is also nearby, when I need to get something in a hurry. However, THIS location is not a place to go into when you're in a hurry, as the parking lot is extremely difficult from which to extricate yourself! Yikes. Seriously, with the construction still underway, you never know which road to take to get the heck out of there. So, not my first choice, due to the lack of ease getting in and out, and some prices verging on "Shaw's" territory. It's just NOT upscale enough to be a draw, not unique enough to warrant the difficulty getting in and out, not "boutique" at all, so, just not any place that I'm going to bother with very often. read more
