The good: Nice views, pretty reasonable prices. Nice music Playlist too, with some classic music favorites. The not-so-good: My cheeseburger had a funky smell and taste to it. But we also ordered a box portion of hot and tasty French Fries with seasoning. I believe those were better than the burger itself. Parking can be a challenge here too. Location: great! Bar service: great! Other service: terrible We docked our boat to stop in for a drink around sunset time because we had never been there and wanted to check it out. Some Karen lounging by the pool was so concerned about who we were and where we came from. She stopped us as we were making our way to the bar to make her inquiries. Went to the bar and got prompt and courteous service. We grabbed a spot to sit and sip while we watched the sunset. All the while, this Karen kept staring at us. We decided to leave after the one drink since the atmosphere was partially inhospitable. Then said Karen got some worker to stop us and harass us on our way back to our boat. The worker asked us where we were parked. We said we are parked at the dock. She said yes but where is your car? We said our car is at the marina where we got on our boat. She seemed to not believe us and said well, you'd better not be parked out front. Clearly we weren't. We arrived via boat. Honestly, one of the strangest experiences. Because the bartenders were nice and because the location is lovely, we might give the place another chance. I will update my review if we do. read more

My brother and me got here late the second day we were in town. We sneakily got there via golf cart but dont tell anyone that! We strolled in roughly 730pm on a Tuesday and it was super quiet. The bartender was cool and still gave us sunset shots. The bar (proper) itself is somewhat small but the views are pretty good from the pictures you can see everyone has taken. Fun decorations to keep you in the mood and on the menu they have some interesting mixed drinks. Parking seems pretty ample but maybe that was the night i was there so i dont know for sure since it is part of an apartment/condo complex. Either way a cool place to chill for a few drinks and mosey on down the road. read more

A friend of mine is a regular at Marker 8 and she recommended we head there. What a treat it was from start to finish! We were welcomed into an inviting atmosphere even before the music kicked in--though I'm already planning my return trip just to soak up those beats. Our server, Joe, truly made the end of our day shine. He was the perfect balance of attentive and accommodating, checking in without ever hovering. Thanks to him, nothing we needed ever took long to arrive, making the experience all the more relaxed and enjoyable. I kicked things off with a cucumber drink that was absolutely delightful--super refreshing and exactly what I needed after a long day at the beach. For the main course, I decided to indulge in shrimp tacos. Now, I'm not usually one to eat a lot, but these tacos were so irresistible I gobbled them up like it was Thanksgiving dinner--only the jalapeños stood guard at the end! Marker 8 is a quirky tiki bar with amazing views of St. Joseph's Sound. I was giving a beach bar tour of Dunedin to a buddy that came down from the Northeast & this was our second stop. I can't speak to the food, but my mudsl8des were great & folks were swimming in the over 21 pool & playing corn hole for the middle part of a Friday afternoon. It's located in the Beso del Sol condo/vacation rental resort, but don't let that scare you off from a day trip! read more

A server even told our family to eat somewhere else and recommended other nearby places . The waitstaff as a whole was very nice and attentive except for one black hair female that works behind the bar on weekends. She was very rude and pushy while catering mostly to locals. read more

I'm a proud Dunedinite. Grew up here! I've never been treated disrespectfully by restaurant management more than Michelle Callahan of Marker 8 (Dunedin). EVER! Despite being a loyal, paying customer for over 10 years with no prior issues, I was asked to leave Marker 8 in front of the entire bar, not for my behavior but because of a personal grudge involving my significant other's former employment there. If restaurant management treats people associated with ex-employees this way, I'd be wary of supporting a place that lets personal bias override hospitality and basic decency. There are plenty of other Dunedin establishments where quality product, good atmosphere, professionalism, and customer service still matter. The rest of the staff at Marker 8 is fantastic! For real! All the Marker 8 regulars love them. However, as long as someone as rude and distasteful as Michelle is running things at Marker 8, I recommend you choose another establishment. Most of the staff is leaving, too. read more

The setting was beautiful. I like to find places on the water to eat. The service was good. Our waiter was very attentive and all the people working were very nice. We got the fish tacos, which were a little on the small side. They came with tortilla chips and it would have been nice to have some salsa to eat with them. We also ordered the pork nachos. I really enjoyed the queso cheese. I would have liked some sour cream on them. The pork tasted ok, much like a slow roasted pulled pork. The portion size was enough to share. The three star rating comes from the fact that they only serve canned coke at $2.50 a can and everything is served in plastic or styrofoam. When I ordered a soda, I wish I would have been told it was canned since I look forward to refills and fountain soda. It is also disappointing to have a place on the water that is not concerned about the environment. Each water cup refill was delivered in a new plastic cup along with food in styrofoam containers. read more

Found this little hidden gem tucked off the main road on the way to downtown Dunedin. It is in a resort, so if I hadn't seen the sign out front I would have missed this great little spot! We decided to stop one night during our vacation, and it quickly became our favorite little tiki bar with a million dollar sunset view, and did I mention free shots and a sunset celebration when the sun hits the horizon? So fun! They have live music, appetizers and a great drink menu. It's the perfect way to end your beach day! If you are in the Palm Harbor, Dunedin, or Tarpon Springs area, head directly for Marker 8. It's the next best thing to watching the sunset on the beach! read more

Tom Terrific here with another honest review. This review is about a price for beer to see the water at a nice tiki bar. I paid $4.55 for a 12 oz michelob Ultra draft. Too much. I understand it's Bidenflation but that's high for a draft beer. I paid $5 for a bottle of the same beer at The Kangeroo in New Port Richey when they had a DJ and a full house on St. Patrick's Day. So i'm saying a draft beer should be lesss than $4.55 even with a water view. the Bud Light draft beer is less at Bon Appetit's outside bar and it's a nicer place. Fried bar food and a locals bar, all set in a cement shelter that used to be a parking garage for 20 cars in the condo building above. It was the end of a long day of activities for my girlfriend and I and we were about 15 mins away from Dunedin, with 30 mins til sunset. We arrived just in time at Marker 8, at around 8pm. We were sat down right away and the table was in a decent enough spot that we had a good view of the sunset. The gentleman who tended to us was very friendly. Made casual conversation with us. I grabbed a couple of Maker's and Coke, my girlfriend grabbed a cocktail, at sunset the servers passed around their complimentary sunset shots, and it was a good time. We got exactly what we wanted from Marker 8. Also... there's a parking lot diagonally across the street. That's where you park if you're not staying at the resort. read more

Same owners as Rusty Lyon, also in Dunedin. No regard for employees or customers. I had group space reserved at Rusty's for 16 people last night (4/24/2023). Reserved 2 weeks ahead, confirmed a week prior, updated with management the Friday prior with estimated count, all good, all OK. Called the day of, left message, no reply, so I went an hour early to make sure we were OK. Found sign on the door saying they were closed, under new ownership, undergoing rebranding, etc. Employee showed up just after I did and was never informed not to come to work. This is one crappy way to treat your employees and customers. No way I would ever support Marker 8 and their ownership/management! read more

Marker 8 is a great location for sunset, plus you get a free sunset shot. It was very entertaining. The solo artist had great tiki tunes. The Hulu dancer was very talented! The food was served in a unique, never seen before, manner; they served the food in to go containers. I guess it makes sense if you can't finish your meal. Our server was very nice. Atmosphere: 4 The only reason I would not give this a 5 is because there is very little parking and the parking that is there is down a half a block across the street in a dirt grass lot. So if that's too much for you to handle I get it. Everything else about this place is awesome. It's positioned on the water near downtown Dunedin. It's a small condo/hotel spot with a great bar at the bottom. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have 2 pools and a hot tub with a walk out peri on the water. They have a ton of fans out for when it's warmer out and sliding to close up during the cooler months. And the last bonus every night they give out Jell-O shots at sunset!! It's a local favorite spot! Service: 5 The staff is all very friendly, quick to tell you what's good on the menu, checks on you multiple times to see if you need anything. THey have also given advice on other fun spots to hit in the area or local festivals or events gong on. Food: 3 The food is okay, your not really going for the food so don't expect fancy. It;s good bar food, both healthy and naughty options. There salads are great the portions are good. The quesadillas are basic and good and come in a styrofoam box. So while the food is basic and tasty it's nothing to write home about. Price: 5 The prices decent the food is about $10 bucks a dish and drinks can very from a few bucks for beers to more but nothing over say 10.You could spend all day here at the pools with drinks and food for $100 bucks easy. Overall Experience: 5 If you've never been you should go at least once and make sure when you go it's during sunset. Bring a bathing suit and towels, you never know you might just be tempted to take a dip one the pool! read more

I have always enjoyed Marker Eight. have had many friends and family occasions at this location. My disappointment occurred when we stopped recently for diner. My wife ordered nachos and when the meal arrived she did not get any salsa. She was surprised they did not provide salsa. She asked for a serving to go with her Nachos. I ordered wings and asked for extra Blu cheese dressing. After the Meal, which was very good. excellent meal. The only disappointment was the bill. We were charged $3.00 for a small cup of salsa and $3.00 for a small cup of Blu cheese dressing. I asked the server why we were charged for Salsa, for the nacho. He said it was company policy. I told him I was disappointed they didn't provide salsa with nachos at no charge. He said the salsa and blu cheese were additional cost. I told him if he had made me aware of the additional charge and the cost of $3.00 per container, I never would have ordered them. The server never apolofixed, nor offer co correct the issu. The only thing the thing that he stated was "it's is company policy". my problem is they never made us aware there was an addition charge for these items. I felt very taken advantage of my decision to stop at Marker Eight. I stop at the location often. My family stops often. I will find another place to eat. One that values my business. $3.00 for a small serving of condiment. WOW! read more
