Well. I actually really like this place for its ambience and its ability to alleviate my hangover, but it didn't earn 5 stars for two reasons. Reason #1- The potatoes (see photo) are so damn small it would take me three full weeks to eat them individually. They're the most annoying potatoes I've ever eaten. I'd rather eat a bowl of seeded cherries then have to endure the arduous task of finishing this plate of microscopic potatoes with a fork. Eating peas with chop sticks would be easier. They might as well give me a a whole pomegranate, or just a full head of lettuce. I'm surprised they didn't garnish the meal with a seeded watermelon. Speaking of the garnish... Reason #2- The garnish (see photo again) is no kidding one piece of pineapple on top of two pieces of spring mix. Based on the fact it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive, I thought they would have spruced it up a bit. Maybe add some pitted olives. It's a fair dive. Fair food, fair drinks, fair service, but a pretty unique atmosphere with the highway markers. Also, there are a lot of TVs at the bar, so you can track a lot of different games. For lunch, I had a pretty good cheeseburger, it was good sized, certainly juicy. I do like that it's pretty thick so you can get a good bite of beef. Our server did a decent job at keeping our beverage glasses filled, but with a group of 7, it can be a little tough. The one thing that really bugged me was the bathroom wasn't kept very clean. Dirty, and service took forever. We tried to eat outside but we were surrounded by these kids running around and an influx of flies. After not being able get drinks due to them not accepting my friends dmv documents and her photo id we ended up leaving the establishment and going to pour girls next door. I'm all down for the rules but come on how can you have proper id and paperwork from the state and it not be accepted. read more

Food is over priced. Service isn't great. My pasta was missing one of the main ingredients- andouille sausage on the ANDOUILLE sausage and chicken pasta dish. Instead of offering to redo the meal or comp the for the mistake, they brought out a bowl of chopped sausages (more than half way into eating the meal). That tells you how often she checked to see if anything was needed. I certainly wouldn't recommend this place to anyone - at least not for food. While the staff tried to explain the "cook was new" & laugh it up- that's not my problem- and I don't care especially if I'm paying for a meal. While family was in town for a short period of time, we decided to meet at a restaurant before they headed back towards DC. It was 9pm and NFL playoffs just started so it was more of a bar atmosphere. I ordered a crab dip appetizer for the table and their "famous crab philly wrap." I know how to cook and I have developed my own shrimp and crab dip recipe, so eating theirs was bland and lacked crab meat. My sister described it as a crab dip purée lol because that's exactly what the texture was like *shrug emoji* As for my crab philly wrap, it was just okay. I thought for sure because it was their specialty and no one has ever done it before, the crab philly would be bangin but nope. It too could use more seasoning. Thankfully that didn't lack crab meat lol Service overall was decent. Our drinks were never empty. Probably wouldn't drive from Portsmouth to Hampton for their food again but if I was already on that side looking to catch the game somewhere, Marker 20 would be a candidate. read more

I went in on a Sunday around 11 with a large group of friends. There were 2 large groups of people in the area. We had to wait at least an hour to get our food. After waiting for a whole hour, I finally got my omelet. When I broke a bite out, I found a long hair stuck in it! The waitress asked me if I wanted a new one, so I got a new one. It had so many chunks of red onions. It seemed like they rushed so much chopping it. I had to be out of there by 1 so I scarfed the food down. At least they didn't charge me for the food. They don't take reservations on Sundays but they should start so that they can prep better for large groups of people rushing in, all at the same time. read more

The food was terrible. The Philly cheese steak and the chicken Philly cheese was dry and the fries were over salted. The shrimp was over cooked and the Alfredo did have enough sauce. The service is also terrible. When we got out menus the server wasn't listening. The server ignored us and gave the wrong food and drinks to the wrong person. After we got our check she took forever you come back and take the card and give it back. The music was loud ear piercing even and if was really cold. 1. Kimi was our server. She was awesome, knew the menu, knew the area and was very attentive and full of friendly conversation. 2. The fish and chips (flounder) were very good. The fish had some bones in it, no biggie since it was very fresh, and the chips were AWESOME! They were hand-cut, seasoned well, and crispy! 3. The beer selection was small but was a good combination of local brews, standard go-to brews, and some interesting brews from across the country. 4. First time trying this restaurant in Downtown Hampton. There's a definite local/dive feel to it. It's a deep restaurant with high tops in the front, booths in middle, and then a back room with additional seating. Lots of beers on tap and with this kind of layout, I bet it's a good spot for some nightlife. I ordered a grilled tuna sandwich served with cole slaw and fries. My sandwich was decent, a little on the charred side for a sandwich I requested to be cooked rare. Both the slaw and fries were good. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Not too shabby. I'm not sure where to begin with my disappointment in this restaurant. We were told to seat ourselves then waited approximately 10 minutes for a server to come to our table. Waited quite a long time for drinks. The only upside to our visit was the crab dip appetizer that was delicious. My girlfriend got the Caesar wrap and said it was mediocre. I ordered their burger to be cooked medium and when I took a bite into it, it was cooked well done and dry as a bone. The one waitress was by herself and was obviously struggling. Unfortunately, our glasses got empty multiple times. Overall, very dissatisfied and will most likely not return. read more

My hubby thought this would be a good choice as this place seem to have a crowd when we have passed by. So we tried it this past week. There is a nice outside dining area & inside bar with seating. We were seated in the bar which was nice as we were able to watch sports on the TVs. It took quite a while for our server to come over which during busy times is expected but there was not a large crowd when we arrived. I asked about the wine selection however she could not offer me any wine labels when asked, just that they carried white, red or merlot. She did review the menu items with us when asked. I told her this was our first time here and what their signature items.... she pretty much just pointed to all the items saying "it's all good". I inquired what ingredients were used in their crab cakes. She said it was fresh crab with mostly claw meat so I ordered the crab cakes that could be prepared either "blackened" or "grilled". The dinner came with 2 cakes so I asked for 1 grilled and 1 blackened. The waitress said I could ONLY get them one way as she had 20 other orders ahead of mine. I really wanted to get up and leave at that point but thought it may be worth a try and toughed it out however, the overall experience was very disappointing. The crab cakes and hush puppies arrived scorched with my 2 sides of choice. (Coleslaw and Sweet Potato fries) I can't believe she even brought them out like that but then thought maybe that's how they make them here. I took 2 bites of the crab cakes.....and that was it. Besides being charred they had absolutely ZERO crab flavor/taste! In fact they tasted like mealy salmon patties. I posted a pic of the crab cakes dinner. I gave them the one star because I loved the sweet potatoes fries.....they were amazingly yummo and the coleslaw was ok. I ordered the clam chowder as an App and the grilled crab cakes as my main. Here comes my salad with my clam chowder immediately behind it. "Could you return the clam chowder until I've finished my salad?" My server's response "I can put it under the heat lamp and that's all I can do." Well after enjoying my salad I got to enjoy my lukewarm chowder. My entrée was filling with a healthy portion of crab, a baked potato, and a couple of hush puppies. My crab cake was dry and overcooked. Everything else was OK. In all fairness my server did return a number of times to check on me and to refill my drink. There are much better seafood restaurants in this area and based on my experience tonight I would not return to Marker 20. read more

I found this place searching for seafood when I was at the beach. I swear YELP never lets me down the crab dip came with little warm pita bread and the shrimp po boy wrap had a amazing cajun sauce. I would not recommend this establishment due to the disgusting behaviour and theft of a credit card by management. We arrived at the establishment at 1050 am. We waited approximately 20 minutes for the waitress (approx 5'5 curly brown hair) to take our order. At about noon, I approached the bartender to pay for our drink because our waitress and food were nowhere to be found. The bartender seemed upset that I asked to cancel the food and pay for our drinks. She launched into a tirade accusing me of having an attitude because I asked her to cash us out. What makes things worse is that I had to report my card stolen because the bartender/manager refused to return my card, stating that "I already gave it to you," which was untrue. Not only did I not received my card back, not did I receive the receipt to sign for the transaction. read more

Its biggest asset is the outside seating. The food was kind of "meh" for the prices, the service was decent. My friends and I came here mostly because it was such a pleasant evening and they had live music on the patio. They have a dozen or so tables outside and from what we could tell you seat yourself. During dinner they offered both sandwich items ($9-$12 range) and dinner entrees ($12-$25). As one would expect, they seemed to specialize in seafood. I ended up going with the tuna steak sandwich; I had actually ordered this exact same dish the night before at a restaurant in Williamsburg and it was so fantastic that I was craving it again. Unfortunately it was nowhere near as good here. I ordered it blackened. It was really quite small and for the price tag I had really hoped for more. The flavor was there though, and it was cooked medium rare as I had ordered. I went with a baked potato instead of fries for the side; it was kind of small too, but it was nice that I wasn't upcharged for it. It was also served with a small tub of cole slaw, which two bites. My friends split an app of french fries plus the philly cheese steak. They raved about the cheese steak being really fresh and packed with veggies and cheese. The fries didn't look like anything special. Decent beer selection. I ordered a Miller Lite and it was served in a plastic dixie cup. While our server was pretty attentive considering how busy she was, she didn't really make an effort to be friendly. My husband has been telling me about this place for a while and we finally went. Parking is behind the building. When we walked in we were greeted very cheerfully by someone at the bar. I'm not sure if he was the owner but he seemed like it. It was a nice day so we chose to sit outside. Our server came over promptly and took our drink orders. They don't have an extensive drink menu. There are 2 drinks on the menu. But they are both delicious. One is a citrus sour and the other is a coconut mango. I love a strong drink that doesn't taste strong. We got an order of crab dip. It was served with buttered toast cut into strips. It was DELICIOUS. The toast was the perfect thing to dip with and the crab dip was full of crab meat and had a nice creamy finish. For my entree I ordered the crab Philly and fries. My husband orders the coconut shrimp with a side of hush puppies. The food came out quickly and our server made sure we had all we need. She was a little flighty, but attentive. My crab philly was pretty good. It was a good size and it seemed to have a mix of lump and claw meat in it. It had sautéed peppers and onions and cheese. I wish I'd added mayo but it was good regardless. My husbands shrimp were HUGE and flavorful. We will definitely be back. A fantastic bar/restaurant that has a great atmosphere right in downtown Hampton. The food is great and they give a huge portion, increasing the value. The service is friendly and active. The bar is well stocked with great bartenders. Even though it has a bar, it is separated enough so that the restaurant is child friendly, if necessary. From the outside, it doesn't look like much but that is why you never judge a place from the outside. A great place to eat! read more

Comfortable, come as you are atmosphere & definitely loved by locals. A few of the waitresses could use a spin at charm school but as long as they're on their toes I don't mind. Best spot on the street for block party season. Little secret I've learned: order the daily special. I was so surprised to come in here and see 1 star reviews! Let me start by saying we have only ever ordered to-go from here. So I can't speak to the service on waiting tables. However everyone we have dealt with on phones/picking up has been great. Everything we've ordered from here has been absolutely delicious. My girl and i came here for a drink. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was so nice. My girl had a glass of red wine which she said was really good and i had a Captain Morgan and gingerale. It was served in a plastic clear solo cup. It was the perfect amount. The bar top is interesting. It has maps all over the bar. The bar tender was saying they asked for things to put on the bar and all the locals gave them maps. We ordered the shrimp appetizer which was so good. They have televisons and they had music on. We noticed a list of live music which was nice. The bathroom is so so. They have outside seating which attracted us to the place but ended up sitting at the bar.
