I started doing research immediately and read about how honest Stop Shop mobile mechanic is and also the convenience of having him come out and do the work in my garage/driveway. Todd came out and told me my back brakes are fine and front ones are even better, that I have maybe years left. This was amazing to me, but I have read similar reviews as well. What a good guy and the least I can do is give a stellar review here. I wanted to pay at least a service fee, but it was out of the question for him. I put his number in my phone and will call when my wife's car needs brakes since we drive it much more. Will also tell friends and family about Todd and his company.

Although the Better Business Bureau web site shows that the business is a corporation, Sam assured me that Applewood Auto Care is not a corporation. Sam wanted to make it clear that they did nothing to cause my car not to start, but he couldn't explain how I was able to start my car and drive it to their shop. The auto shop that ultimately repaired my car said that, as they didn't know what Applewood Auto Care did during servicing, they had no way of knowing why the car wouldn't start, other than the fact that the timing chain needed to be replaced. Therefore, I amend my review of Applewood Auto Care to say, I have no proof that Applewood Auto Care did anything to exacerbate my car starting problem. In my original review, I didn't mention that Applewood Auto Care billing is awkward and unnecessarily confusing. Their oil change coupon special showed a price of $59.95, but no where on my bill was the $59.95 amount. Though a discount was applied, the bill included an unexplained "Fees" amount. Applewood Auto Care did demonstrate an interest in addressing my concerns, and even offered to perform a future oil change free of charge. Sam's reluctance to uniquely identify himself by refusing to reveal his last name was unprofessional and paranoid. Though Applewood Auto Care diagnostics were thorough and well documented with photos, overall, their prices for repair work are high, especially their estimate for replacing the timing chain. He was at my house in an hour and knew exactly what my car needed, what pieces needed to be replaced, and recommended replacing a few plastic parts associated with the oil seal and engine stuff with metal ones to avoid future problems and explained why these things were causing my car issues and why they needed to be replaced. I really appreciated how well everything was explained, and trusted him immediately as his knowledge was very evident to look at my car. I asked him to take a look at the engine, brakes, and I needed a few other things looked at and I'll knew exactly what the problems were and gave me a quote and said I could bring it by the shop and he would have it fixed by the next day. It was ready as promised, and fine initally. Then when I drove a few hours later, there were new issues and I was lucky to make it home so I contacted Al at 8pm and instead of responding the next day, he came over at 9 PM on a Friday night to pick my car and take it back to his shop which was a huge relief to me as I planned to drive to the mountains the next day and was sure I'd have to cancel my trip. He figured out what happened and fixed it immediately. I got an oil change at Z Auto Service where they did a full inspection of my vehicle as part of a…read morecoupon promotion they were running. During the inspection they discovered that my car was in need of new brake pads and rotors and had an oil leak. I ended up getting my brakes done at a different place that only does brakes after finding out the quote I got from Z Auto was really high. I was leaving in a couple days to drive over 2k miles, so I wanted to get the oil leak looked at before I left to make sure it was still ok to drive my car that far without immediate repairs. At the suggestion of my friend, I reached out to Greg to have him take a look, and he told me he couldn't get me in until the next week. He managed to squeeze me in when I explained my situation. He inspected my car and told me what he guessed may be wrong, but noted that I should be good to drive the long distance and we could perform further diagnostics once I got back. During this time he also noted that my coolant reservoir was bone dry (despite the first shop supposedly performing a thorough inspection and topping off all fluids), and my oil was overfilled. He topped off my coolant and sent me on my way without charging me anything for his time or the fluids. I definitely will be returning to this shop for all of my maintenance needs given both the competence and knowledge displayed by Greg as well as the customer care and service. He seems like an honest mechanic with extremely fair pricing based on the price he quoted me for new brakes and rotors, which was very close to the price I paid at a corporate chain to have my brakes done. (The quality of components he uses would have been higher and worth it.) I also found out an oil change would have been cheaper than I paid at Z Auto WITH a coupon. And if any further reassurance is needed after reading this far, I can only further convince you with the rave review my friend gave him, referencing his fair pricing, quality of work, and her repeat visits to him (due to having a less than quality vehicle, rather than previous work performed by Greg's shop). From the moment I brought the truck in for a pre purchase inspection he was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Greg took the time to explain the issues with the truck in a way that was easy for me to understand. He was patient in answering all of my questions and made me feel confident in that I was making n informed decision. I enjoyed working with him so much so, that I chose him to do the repairs and maintenance work as well. Throughout the entire process, Greg kept me updated on the progress and provided me with a clear timeline for when my truck would be ready. When I picked up my truck, it road worthy and I was extremely satisfied with the quality of their work. What really stood out to me was the level of care and attention to detail Greg displayed. He truly went above and beyond to ensure that my truck was in top condition and ready for my long trip back to Miami.
