Horrible service. Shit installation. Not impressed. I wish I spent my 4k somewhere else.

4 years ago: I got estimates from Mark and Co and 2 other suppliers. I hired Mark and Co because they were the lowest bid. Then they told me that they "forgot" to include one of the windows. They could not do the job for the quoted price, but they would do it for the price on the next lowest bid. So was this an honest mistake or a scheme to get the job at the best possible price? Incompetent or dishonest? I would be interested to know if anyone else had the same experience. Installers were dirty, poorly dressed, did not appear to know what they were doing. Left black fingerprints all over all of the interior walls. A year later I had to recaulk most of the windows. Co-owner Dave told me that I had a glass-breakage warranty. Present day: I had a broken window. The only reason I called Mark and Co is because they had promised me a glass breakage warranty. On 12/20 co-owner Kelly came and measured, and told me that I do have a glass breakage warranty. I informed Kelly that I am selling the house, that closing date is 1/13 and I need the repair done before then. Kelly said this would not be a problem. Mark and Co filed a warranty claim with Milgard on 12/20. I called Milgard on 1/4, they said Mark and Co had given them the wrong order number. After much back and forth with Mark and Co, they finally admitted that I do not have a glass breakage warranty. On 1/4 Kelly told me that "today" he would order glass to install in the existing frame, the glass would arrive 1/9, and he would install 1/10 or 1/11. On 1/9 I called to confirm this appointment. Dave told me the glass had not been ordered because Kelly "called in sick." 4 days to closing and the glass has not been ordered!!! Dave promised me that he would order the glass "today," and scheduled an appointment to install on 1/12 at 3pm. He did not show up for this appointment. At this point I cancelled my contract with Mark and Co and called another supplier. Kelly responded by leaving a rude, unprofessional, and threatening voice mail. Good riddance. read more

As an art glass craftsman for many years i've seen the good, the bad and the ugly. Mark and his crew are the best. First- he made good on a years old quote for replacing a dozen old windows with insulated units. Next- the craftsmen were polite, respectful and quick. Then- they cleaned up and hauled away the old panes, except for one large old wavy "pre-float" glass that i liked because i can appreciate the look of that type of glass. Their work was all right but when they left my house, they put the key back under the front mat and left the front door wide open. Absolutely not acceptable in my eyes. We had all of our windows and sliding door replaced. Mark & Company are fantastic! They were professional to deal with, had great prices, they back up their work, and they are incredibly friendly. We had one issue with a tear in a screen, and they replaced it promptly. Our sliding door needed pulled and re-installed and Dave and Kelly came out on the weekend and took care of the work themselves. Top notch company and fantastic people. Beware, I would not rec'd them! Custom over-sized slider from Milgard- $4000. After waiting 3 mons for delivery, it came wo part needed (not their fault). 6 wks later part arrives, but they had failed to notice the Screen wasn't shipped. Went ahead installed door, that night i discover the lock doesn't work. 1 week later finally show up to look at. Turned it over to a Milgard rep, who when he showed up, i asked when's my Screen door coming? Milgard didn't even know it was an issue. Mark & CO still had not reported. From that pt on I only dealt w Milgard. Never heard from Mark & Co again, including my tool they toke when here, I asked for it back. 2 mons after install, Screen door finally here, and I discover there's a loose spot in the door frame right in the middle top, and the screen if you're not careful comes out of frame, and scraps the outside frame, and paint off. I've discovered that midpoint in frame top isn't level. Believe it or not, it's a tad off, creating a slight bump up, enabling the screen to slide out in that 1 spot. The frame is caulked to wall. From now on, I have to worn anyone who uses the screen needs to be careful, and guide it wo falling outside the track. If i could give them NO Stars I would. $4000 ppl. Listen up!!! Total time to complete, 6 months. And i still haven't rec'd correct paint to touch up all the damage. read more

Not For Small Residential Customers I'll start with the good, and get that out of the way if that's what you're looking for: the windows are installed and look fine. It's the service that was horrible. They were all very friendly, but getting them to actually come and do the work was like pulling teeth. I had to call to remind them to cash my down-payment, as they held on to the check for 3 or 4 weeks, which messes with a bank account, and they don't take credit cards (in 2017!) They gave a date about 6-8 weeks out for installation. At 6 weeks I called to find out when they might be coming. Windows hadn't even come in yet. 10 days later I call to find out when they're coming, and they haven't inspected the windows yet. Finally get them installed a month late. So, three months from estimate to installation. For three windows. It took them 3 hours. Not done yet - they held on to my final payment for another month, which is a big deal for a home that is on the lower end of the income scale. Note to company: try daily, or at least weekly deposits! And maybe a courtesy discount if you delay and the customer has to be the one to get anything done! And credit cards are quite useful. Dean, ably assisted by Chris and Cliff arrived exactly at the date and time your office advised they would be here. They assessed the job and went to work quickly and efficiently to remove and replace all my windows and doors without a break--in spite of the heavy downpours that happened during the day. I was impressed that they were prepared with every tool and material we had previously discussed and it was clear they were well experienced and qualified in their tasks. The finished project looks wonderful and very professional. They were careful with my furniture and cleaned up before they left. We are both former licensed general contractors but are no longer able to do the work we used to do. We know and appreciate good craftsmen and honorable contractor follow through. So often the persons we hire to make repairs on our property are a sad disappointment. We highly recommend Mark and Company to anyone. read more

I am so impressed with Mark & Co.: Window Replacement Specialist. First, every worker introduced themselves and offered their hand to shake upon arrival. I know, every contractor should do that but doesn't always happen that way, huh? Next, they laid down drop clothes EVERYWHERE and promptly got to work removing the nasty old windows. They worked through, finishing in the early afternoon. They departed with a friendly goodbye and, again, handshakes all around. read more

I had this company come out and measure for three new windows and three new doors. This was in August for a spring installation. When I hadn't heard back by December I called the office and asked the receptionist to please let me know if they were not interested in doing the job or if they were when would I hear from them? They didn't bother to get back to me on that either. Terrible way to do business. read more

The installers for Mark & Co. just replaced a patio door slider at a condo rental of ours. They were the low bid, showed up on time, everything went according to plan, and the job was done right and right on time. They offered some cost savings ideas instead of the usual cost added ideas, really liked this. Mark & Co. came highly recommended to me and I would recommend them to anyone. George VV read more

Installed a broken sliding glass door that sticks when closed. They claimed when they installed it that it was just a new seal and would become easier to open. If anything it became harder to open. We refused to pay until it was fixed. They came out and said it seemed to be broken, but that they would need the manufacturer to look at it. Manufacturer sent out rep who said that the door might have been broken during install. They said they would talk to installers. Just got letter from credit card company that we had stopped payment on saying that Mark & co are claiming they installed a working door, and the manufacturer says we wouldn't allow their rep to make the repairs. If this goes to court, I will post case number so you can see for yourself. Avoid this company at all costs! They're obviously eager to jump on this new "alternative facts" bandwagon. read more

On April 10, 2017, we had the privilege of having Matt and Eric install a picture window in our living room. Because the old window had to be removed in pieces, the job took longer than anticipated. Matt and Eric expressed concern that we would feel inconvenienced, but we were simply glad to have such skilled and considerate workers on the job. We could not have asked for a better crew or a better installation. In fact, the sales people, office staff, and everyone else we worked with obviously enjoyed their jobs, had confidence in their products, and made every effort to return our calls promptly and to answer our questions fully. read more

Do not buy from this company. I bought an expensive slider and from the beginning it didn't open after closed. I have been dealing with this since Sept. ..af first they wouldn't return my calls...then they came out, took door apart, said Milgar ( mfg) had to come out and look at it. Milgar came out in Dec. said they werent responsible that Mark & Co. had to fix it. I called my credit card Co and disputed the charge . They responded to credit card co that I broke the door and that I wouldn't let Milgar fix it. I live alone and am in my 70s..they are trying to rip off an senior citizen female who lives alone. They do not back up their work. And they have no ethics...they lie , both companies. read more

Asked them out to give us an estimate to replace 5 windows. They didn't bother to call back with the estimate. I guess $5000.00 is not a big enough of a job for them to bother with. When we called them they had an estimate for 3 windows that they never sent to us and it wasn't for the style we asked for. Guess they don't need any business. I always heard good things about them but I wont use them now that I know better. Thats a crappy way to do business. read more
