Culver Glass said they would charge a $260.00 deposit before they would measure and give us a quote and the $260.00 would be deducted from the final bill when the job was complete. They came and measured and after not hearing back from them we finally called for the quote and we were told that they could not replace the mirror at all and they could not replace the window with the correct grids. Since they couldn't replace the mirror at all and couldn't provide the correct window, we asked about the $260.00 deposit and they said they would not return it and didn't! What a scam!

This year we had him remove the sun tunnels from the kitchen and replace them with skylights. The sun tunnels do a nice job of letting in light but we wanted to be able to see the sky so we upgraded. Both times Geoffrey was very responsive to our requests, provided timely and fair quotes, did the jobs when he said he would, was very professional and polite and finished everything when he said he would and cleaned up afterwards. His quality of work is excellent. I have recommended him to several friends and he's done work on other homes in our neighborhood after the neighbors saw the improvements in natural light in our home. I can's speak highly enough about how hardworking and nice Geoffrey is and I give him my highest recommendation.

Pros: ========================== -Everyone I met at Kaminski was friendly and professional. -They did the work I contracted with them to do in a fairly short period of time. -When the guys came to do the job they did quality work, in a very professional manner. -When they left, I even considered contacting them to replace the old galvanized pipe in my house sometime over the next year. I actually mentioned it to their carpenter before he left. That outcome seems unlikely now for the reasons that follow. -Once I posted my review I got a call asking how I could be more satisfied. I realize I am not their only client, and don't consider my job to be any more important than anyone else's. This said, I appreciate the effort. -I did get a refund for them for... something. Not sure what it was for. (See my last "Con" item. Cons: ========================== -We were told that they would charge half the bid in deposit, then they charged the whole thing. In fairness they reversed this charge. -My only sincere complaint is the opacity of their billing. Don't get me wrong. they gave me a VERY detailed estimate and - as I mentioned in the first part of my review - they sent me a partial refund of the initial charge. Gosh this is going to sound like I am complaining just to complain, but hear me out. The real issue is I have not yet received a detailed explanation of exactly what I was charged for. When I spoke to the company I was told that prep work went longer than expected, and was told I would get a detailed invoice. Look, I am not going to quibble over the price. I am not looking for a refund I am not due. The fact is I signed the contract, but I want to know where the money went. That is all. They did great work, and I now more than trust them. Conclusion: ==================== First impressions matter fair or not. The final assessment is, though I would work with them again, I just want to a receipt. Their bids are detailed enough that this should be doable.
