I thought I was hiring DaBella to do my roof. I paid a roof company not named DaBella and it cost 2 or 3 times more just because of the DaBella name on paper! Whatever company was here did an okay job but it definitely isn't worth the extra money you pay to have DaBella. John White, the guy that "sold" me on them also promised me a bathroom window. When a different company came to do that, the window had not been ordered! The guy had to go to several hardware stores trying to find a bathroom window! No luck, he put a regular window in and put sticky film to make it not see through! Not acceptable! They won't fix it! SAY NO TO DABELLA!!! BAD NEWS!!!!! read more

My children, pets and myself are literally falling through the floor after I hired DaBella for my new roof a few months after my middle child took his life. My new roof leaked for over a year before DaBella replaced it. However, they said the water damage was not their problem. I was told that I (single mom) was responsible for going after THEIR chosen contractor myself. 4 years later my home is almost uninhabitable, I still owe $15,000 on a loan for it (they arleady got their money), another couple decades on my mortgage, but we will be without shelter. This company DOES NOT CARE about their clients. Our family is devastated by this company. read more

Scheduled an appointment for 10am this morning no call no show and its 12:15 now. Waste of time!!!!!!

I didn't have any leaks until they replaced my roof. I tried to get ahold of them to see what they could do about it but kept transferring me and giving me other numbers to call. They do not stand by their product. I pay $270/month for 10 years for a leaky roof. Don't let them talk you into this. It's awful, the person who talked me into this, signed my name on most of the documents. read more

In my opinion, do not use, don't waste your time. Hard sale and scare tactics. Told me if I do a tile surround it will be leaking within two years. Of course the current tile surround does not leak and is in good shape and is over 30 years old. I've done many remodels and worked with mini contractors. Do not recommend this company. Scheduled an appointment for a bathroom remodel quote. Two representatives showed up at my house for a bathroom renovation quote. They informed me that they only do the wet area. OK, while you're here. Hard sale, in my opinion, their product is dated looking and it looks and feels cheap in my opinion. Then they proceeded to push me on new windows which had been replaced two years before and they trashed the Milgard quality even though it was top-of-the-line Milgard windows then said let's look at your roof and said oh you have major problems. I thought I was going to have to literally put them in a headlock to get them out of the house after the fourth time of saying I'm not interested. I need to get ready for a meeting. Thank you for your time. I said you need to leave! I still had to lead them out. They brought up Jacuzzi and slammed them for poor workmanship and poor Google reviews. Obviously they have not looked at their own reviews. This was very disappointing. I have one hall bathroom left to fully renovate the house and was hoping these guys would have a great solution. Hard sale guys were just looking for anyway to scare me into getting Work plus what they quoted me was ridiculously high for in my opinion is a very inferior and cheap product read more

Steer clear of John White, he'll say anything. I asked for Energy Star windows for my house in Oregon. The crew installed Energy Star windows certified in southern US, and NOT certified in Oregon. Demonstrated a window that opened out and installed sliders. The contract is some kind of hieroglyph: window price is 1.80 1.80. Install quarter round? Cut the window flanges off? Try a proper measure. Thanks for the wake up. read more

They came in with the first quote at 81,000 on a home just under 17,000 squarefoot. All the other 4 quotes we got were all between 24,000 - 28,000. Including replacing all the plywood. GET OTHER BIDS - This Company will hound you, daily, to try and get you to sign the dotted line. Please do not let them do that! The price of their services were 2x what our other 4 bids were. They were like CAR SALES men... the old ones... pushy. They did say they would match other company prices with proof, and by the time we were done, (2 hrs later) and 20 "NO's or "Not Tonight" , "not signing" they had come down $20K -- (54K to 32K). They had offered us warehouse overstock and asked if we wanted T-111 on the house!!! They also called "everyday" -for 5 days...to see how they could get our business. UNIMPRESSED. I'm sure they would have done a great job... but not at my expense, that's how we felt-- when the other companies were around the same bids. Price fair -- NO Trying to inform you of their tactics. !!!!!!!!!! DO NOT consider DaBella roofing !!!!!!!! The sales pitch was great, I gave a huge deposit. When the lead roofer came to assess the job before materials were ordered, I mentioned a couple of items that the salesman said would be done. He said, "No, we don't do that!" I explained. He developed an aggressive attitude and and as I told him to stop the job order, he said "too late". I called the office; they repeated the same message. I was about to loose nearly $4K. I called a lawyer, he said call department of justice. DOJ wrote a letter to them and I had my deposit within a couple weeks. BUT, the horrible company sold my phone number and I'm getting 20+ spam calls a day and have got over a year. Look at their reviews OR call the DOJ. They told me that DaBella has a huge complaint file in their office for bad workmanship and false promises. read more

To be fair, we never had any work done by DaBella. They did however come out and give us a quote on re-siding our house. The 2 salesmen were friendly, and they talked a good talk. But we didn't appreciate the high pressure tactics. A true contractor gives you a bid that is good for 30 days. Instead this company started with a bid that was almost three times higher than the local contractors. When we didn't go for that, we got the old song and dance - let me call our office and see if we can apply some discounts (veteran, senior, etc). Of course that brought the price down to only double what the local contractor would charge. Then they hit us with the piece de resistance. We could only have this great discount if we signed the contract now. That great price (way over inflated) would not be honored after they left. read more

Zero star. I had a few shingles damaged in storm but no leaks. After dabella frauded their way to get me to sign contract after over four hours and after asking them to leave over and over they would not leave. One of the sales men had a gun with him. After the install I now have some leaks, they damaged my garage roof, my house siding, and gutters. They then try to force me to sign a completion form for a job not complete and damages. They again had gun on him. I tresspassed them multiple times but they kept coming tomy home, and then resorted to telephone harrassments. I had to call sheriff when they made terrorizing threats while in possession of gun. My entire roof needs re-done and I have about $10,000 to $15,000 in damages. I now have to take them to court and hope for justice. This was Dabella Fargo ND Office. read more

These con artists tried to scam my elderly parents on a roofing job, telling them their 4000 square foot house would cost $100,000 to re-roof, but they'd give them a "special discount" of $30,000, so it would be $70,000. Which is more than twice the price they got from a local roofer, using the same shingles. The local guy also said that had another 3-5 years on the roof they have on. To Hella with DaBella! Two DaBella, representatives came to the house to give us an estimate for some work to be done with with our plumbing issues, and possible toilet replacement. Like other Reviewers posted, they were 45 minutes late., they did not call before arriving, as they were requested, so they would not get lost in our vast web of dirt roads. They were also at the house for over 3 hours and almost would not leave. Unfortunately they were trying to give us a proposal for a complete tub and shower replacement with mediocre "acrylic" surround, which by the samples that they showed, are really ultra light polymer and not acyrlic.. The bathroom, bathtub / shower is practically new, Custom, and has Life Time High End fixtures The DaBella representatives, said that they only work with wet surfaces,, which they specified as only Tubs and showers. Toilets and Sinks are also wet locations, especially when they overflow as well as Outhouses. They also do not work with plumbing but want to replace High end Quality, fixtures with low end quality Moen, fixtures. They took a list of what we were interested in and gave us prices on paper, and kept, what I presume, calling a supervisor, or pretending to call a supervisor , to get lower prices, which they scribbled down on a piece of paper with their company heading. They started at $31,000, with $315 down, raised it to $34,925, with $340 down, lowered it to $27,000 with $270 down and then came to $25,821 with $250 down. They both kept trying to get us to sign even though we told them that we wanted to get other bids. They tried to keep telling us about their 50 year warranty and that the price of the products will be increasing every three months, and kept pressuring us to sign. They also told us that there is no reason to get quotes from any other companies as their installation people have 7 years experience, and are highly qualified. The two representatives were personable, until they started to degrade our intelligence when we refused to sign, and accept their offer, which was not even a Real actual Offer or Quote for the work that they wanted to do. Considering that they have 40 pages of Negative reviews just from 3 states, Oregon, California and Arizona, out of 21 states where they have offices , most of their Positive Reviews seem fabricated as they only mention about contact with the company and do not mention anything about any work done. I saw the picture of a roof that was done by DaBella, and the roof tiles at the Hip Line, were incorrectly placed. They are supposed to be on the top of the tiles that are going down the roof and not below as the picture shows, otherwise when it rains, the water will leak into the house. They were trying to tell us that the scribbling on their paper was a Rough Quote which was an insult to all tradesmen out there who have written impromptu legible Quotes that are to be turned to Professional Bids / Contract / Proposals detailing all use of materials / Time frame, of what is to be expected, and Authorized Signatures of Owner / Foreman and the Clients / Homeowners with Date and ROC . The representatives that Dabella sends out are Young, Naive and trained to Insult ,and Bully experienced and seasoned homeowners and low information new homeowners. According to the reviews of many other employees, I believe that they are highly pressured by their Supervisors and Upper Management, and Whistleblowers have said that it is a very Toxic environment to work in. After an eMail was sent to speak to the owner, after they sent out an eMail with a questionnaire for a review, which was not filled out, a female representative, called and wanted to know how did they do, we told the female representative, that we had a lot to say and told her that we wanted to speak to the owner directly. She then questioned us and said you want to speak to the CEO directly. We said Yes, the matter is between us and him. Then she hung up. DaBella is an embarrassment to generations of true tradesmen everywhere. Sincerely, a True Third Generation Retired Tradesman. read more

DaBella - Not even a Rough Bid. Unprofessional Scribbling. - Roofing Near Me - Springfield, Oregon

A representative from DaBella came to my home and offered a free roof inspection. I was not home, but my senior parents were (they live with us). John White gave my parents the results indicating a sagging, damaged roof- even showed them pictures from inside the attic "covered" in mold. We were, understandably, concerned - but it was so expensive, we asked a friend to come give us a second opinion. Turns out - our roof is fine! NO sagging, no damage, no mold. The photos they showed were either doctored or complete fakes. They gave my parents a few days before the offer expired to pressure them into making a quick decision. I have logged a formal complaint with the company and will report them to the BBB. IT Is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE and unethical to come meet with my senior parents and lie and scare them into spending $37K on repairs we do not need. We brought in 2 other companies to quote us who confirmed the lies AND asked if it was DaBella that gave the initial quote because apparently they do this all the time and all the other roofers in town know to steer clear of them. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. read more

**UPDATE** Dabella doesn't like this review, and has threatened my family by claiming it invalidates the settlement agreement done with OCCB. This is absolutely untrue, and their behavior serves as an example of the treatment Oregon consumers can expect from this company. This outfit is the most unprofessional, unqualified construction company in Oregon. Check their record with OCCB. Only three companies are required to have a $100,000 floating bond to ensure that they can pay-out the victims of their shoddy work. Their customer service is abysmal and the work that was done on our house had zero supervision while it was being completed. Jake Hayes (eugene manager) explicitly told us we could complain to customer service as many times as we wanted, and that the complaint tickets only come back to him. Do not trust this company. They are deceitful and you will end up worse off than when you started. We have to redo our siding because of their ineptitude. Don't choose this company--and if you've already done so make sure you get a housing inspector to inspect the work. File a complaint with the OCCB and go through mediation. Before we did so, they refused to take responsibility to remediate their faulty install, offered us a measly discount, threatened us with and actually lodged a lawsuit against us (they withdrew it ONLY after going through mediation provided through the OCCB). Our end result was that we paid over $40,000 less than what was in the contract price. These people treated us as if they were the worst thieves, liars, and charlatans. Don't make the mistake of signing a contract with them. It took us 7 horrific months to get them out of our life. Don't make the same mistake we did--and if you don't believe me, call the OCCB and ask about them--or better yet, just look up their contractors license (194160) and read how many complaints they continually receive. It's horrendous and Oregon homeowners should be protected from dishonest, predatory businesses like this one. read more

If there is an alternative to James Hardie and DaBella use it. Their material is designed to be long lasting and hold its look. That maybe the case but it is hard for me to tell. It has been less than a year and I have learned a lot about their product and the contractors they work with for installation. They may not all be the same but the treatment I received (and a neighbor of mine as well) is far from satisfactory. They do not seem to care about the final look and potential issues to your home in years to come. The recommended elite preferred contractor for installation by James Hardie in Oregon is DeBella. Honestly the contractor DaBella either used second grade materials or did not seem to review or care about the material prior to installation. I have panels with cracks, trim with no graining in it and much of it either installed incorrectly or the trim pieces were warped leaving gaps everywhere in the trim work. Also, there are pieces not cut to the appropriate length for the project. Again, the installation was done by the recommended elite preferred contracting installer who cut the panels incorrectly and installed them anyways. I must question James Hardie on their quality control program and checks in their production of siding materials and their support of their elite preferred contractors DaBella? Why would James Hardie allow poor quality material to be released? I did alert James Hardie about the materials and installation issues and received little feedback, only to say, "they will retrain the installers". Nothing about fixing my home. So how can you trust a company who only supports the contractors and not the individuals and their homes. You can't and that is why if there are any other companies with a similar product, I encourage you to use them instead and steer clear of James Hardie Company and DaBella. Please note the projected started in mid-July 2023 and it is now March 1, 2024 and the project is still not completed. If you are in Oregon or Washington, I would look for the smaller companies who do siding installations. They will treat you better and seem to have a better grasp on how to use this material. Finally, do not use the Color Plus system offered by James Hardie. This is where the materials come with the color baked in. Once the project is done there are nicks in the material, nails exposed and if done correctly all caulked over but the 'color dobs' they use do not blend into the baked in colors and it looks like a house with measles on closer inspection. In addition, the color caulking gives smearing appearances and looks like I will have to paint the house sooner than later. Better off to use the primed material and then have your home painted afterwards. It is an upcharge sale you should not spend money on. Spend it on a good painter and/or do it yourself. Going this route will allow many more choices in paints and paint colors. It is sad I now live in fear my home is negatively being exposed to the elements and a high likelihood my house has and or will receive internal damage due to the quality of material and the workmanship done by James Hardie and their certified contractor DaBella's. Again, stay clear of them both. read more

DaBella is a shining example of... what NOT to do. TL;DR: What kind of company is DaBella? 1. They use high-pressure sales tactics to secure your business. 2. They are disorganized and unreliable. 3. They are more interested in profit than customers. 4. Their standard practice is unreasonable and requires special exception in order to be reasonable. 4.b. They don't make exceptions. 5. They will flat out lie to you to get your business. Storytime! It all started when I called for an estimate... I was told that I had to meet their rep at our properties for the estimate. Now, I'm an investor and have gotten multiple quotes for my properties and never has anyone insisted on meeting me at the subject property, so I knew instantly they were sending a closer(1). Whatever, I'm not afraid of a closer, so I agreed. Being thorough, I asked if they needed roof access so I could notify our tenants and was told "No. We use a special drone for taking measurements" (this will be important later). I showed up at the scheduled time on the appointed day and waited for an hour. Did I need to wait for an hour? No. It was clear to me after 10 minutes and no phone call what kind of company DaBella was. But I'm thorough, so I called the main office three times while I was waiting and was told they were contacting their regional office and I would get a response (phone call or email) shortly. Crickets... No follow-up. No phone call. No email. No-show(2). I moved on with my day and about 30 minutes later I get a call from the sales rep asking if I'm coming. I politely explain that he was over an hour late and told him he could do the estimate without me as I had other things to do. He said "okay" and we hung up. I guess he was using the word "okay" figuratively, because he didn't do an estimate. Instead, the next day, the main office called to reschedule. I explained that their rep was a no-show and that we would still accept an estimate, though I didn't have time to meet them at the property. They insisted(3), so I challenged them by stating that I've had numerous contractors give me quotes unassisted and asked why they needed me to be present. She put me on hold for a moment to see if they could make an exception(4). When she came back, she explained that I would have to be present(4.b) as a liability protection. "Some customers have threatened to sue us for trespassing when we come on their property, so we require the homeowner to be there(5)." Wait, WHAT? Okay, confusing explanation aside, one thing is clear: you take your measurements with a fancy drone, meaning you never have to set foot on the property, meaning no trespass is necessary, meaning... The lie detector determined... that was a lie. I could have challenged her on this, and maybe I should have, but DaBella's lack of integrity as a company was clear and I politely explained they wouldn't be getting our business. Now I must acknowledge, my experience was limited to their sales practices. They may do great work. If that's the case, they should completely revamp their approach to sales. However, more than likely, their sales techniques are indicative of their company ethic--one which is concerning enough for a busy investor to spend time writing this review so as to warn others. I recommend you steer clear of DaBella. read more

Avoid those clowns at all cost. They come out and then try to hard close you on a roof that costs way more than anyone else. They even brought out a "closer" who just "happened to be in the neighborhood" to try and convince us to sign on the spot. Funny, looks like a 1.9 out of 5 to me here. When I told them that I just needed them to email me a quote and that the best quote would get the contract (I'm in sales and have no patience for "hard-closers"), they stomped off. When we then enquired two weeks later why we haven't gotten a quote, we were told that they don't email quotes but that we would have to sit through another sales presentation.
